The house
At this spot, you experience the space of the Pyrenees all around. The sun peeps over the low mountains in the east early in the morning and sets behind the much higher mountain tops in the evening. And you are right in the middle of it. The chickens lay a fresh egg. The donkeys are balking as they wait for their bowl of food. You can usually have breakfast outside because it is sunny, even in the early and late seasons. Holiday home Le Camelia is located on the grounds of Mas Taillet, a large farmhouse and the former servants' house has been converted into a Gite named Le Camelia. This spacious studio is furnished with a corner kitchen, sitting area, dining area, sleeping area and bathroom, equipped for 2 persons. The style is simple but comfortable. The kitchen is very complete with induction cooker, oven, fridge and everything you need in the kitchen, crockery, etc. In front of the studio you have your own very spacious terrace with outdoor furniture and sun beds facing south-east. You have a beautiful view over the valley of the Tech. And at an altitude of 1000 metres, there is often a pleasant breeze on hot days and the nights are cool. You can take a dive in the swimming pool that is for shared use. Around the pool is a sun terrace with a magnificent 360-degree view. It is possible to place a cot in Le Camelia. And if you want to come with more friends or family, you can combine Le Camelia with the chambre d'hôte, then there is room for 4 people. Le Camelia for 2 persons is one possibility, we would like to give you an impression of the rest of the accommodation.
BED AND BREAKFAST FOR TWO
One spacious room is furnished as bed and breakfast. You will find a good double bed, a sitting corner, refrigerator, water cooker and coffee machine. The room has its own entrance. There is a bathroom and toilet We provide breakfast. You can use the swimming pool, which is meant for common use. You have your own terrace with furniture.
OWN HOUSE FOR EIGHT PERSONS
The large house of Mas Taillet, La Maison de Xatart, is rented as a gite for eight people. You can stay in a large living kitchen, fully equipped with gas cooker, dishwasher, etc. There are two rooms, each with its own bathroom and toilet and two smaller rooms for 2 persons with a shared spacious bathroom / toilet. Of course you have your own terrace and there is the swimming pool for use by everyone.
You are with several couples/families on one holiday accommodation, but there is plenty of space for everyone so we think you will not be in each others way. Our dogs, cats and donkeys will be happy to keep you company.

From the terrace in front of Mas Taillet you can see the valley of the Tech, beautiful views of the mountains, in front and behind the house. The terrace is in the sun all morning and most of the afternoon. Around the house is 47 hectares of private land, where you can walk in the hills, along streams, through woods and heather. Adjacent to our land is a defensive fortress from 1600. Nearby is the town of Prats de Mollo, with the necessary shops, some restaurants, terraces, and summer activities. The area is particularly suitable for walks in the mountains, mountain bike tours, excursions to churches, monasteries, etc. The beaches of the Mediterranean Sea can be reached within an hour and a half. And if you have seen enough of France, you are in Spain in half an hour. Another country with other attractions.

In Prats de Mollo, you will find nice and cosy restaurants that serve regional dishes and fish is also frequently on the menu. The quality of the Roussillon wine is improving and the Muscat de Rivesaltes or the "sweet" Banyulus wines are famous.
Activities
Everyone fills in his holiday to his own liking. Mas Taillet is a starting point for activities such as hiking, there are many mapped out routes, excursions to interesting or nice towns, a visit to Spain, for example to Figuères where the museum of Salvador Dali is located. There are medieval monasteries and churches nearby and our land adjoins a fortress from 1600. The Mediterranean Sea is an hour away, with cosy seaside resorts and wide sandy beaches. You can also enjoy yourself nearby, walking in the immediate surroundings, lazing around next to the swimming pool, reading on the terrace and enjoying the peace and quiet. Sports enthusiasts can climb on a mountain bike or racing bicycle. There are mapped out routes. There is a climbing park nearby and an animal park. You decide what you like best.

Further remarks
It is difficult to show all the possibilities of our holiday home. It is best to contact us with your questions and wishes. Wheelchair users should also contact us in advance, the flat is wheelchair friendly and so is the large terrace in front of it but it does not meet official standards. As for the surroundings, it depends very much on your own mobility whether this place in France is suitable for you. We can go through the possibilities with you.

The taxe-séjour, verblijfsbkel tax is charged by Gites.nl when you book. Otherwise, no extra charges for electricity, water, etc. We do not participate in the rebooking guarantee. Since July 2020, it is well known that there is a risk that a stay has to be cancelled by you, due to measures around Covid19. In case of cancellation on our part, you will get your deposit back.

Voor het tweede jaar op rij waren wij een kleine week te gast in de chambre d'hotes van Ron en Dick. En voor de tweede keer hadden we een heerlijke tijd. De plek is geweldig - uitkijkend over de toppen van de bergen, de ene dag in blakende zon, de volgende ochtend gehuld in wolkenflarden. De chambre d'hotes is gezellig, ruim en dik-voor-mekaar. Het dorpje Prats de Mollo is gezellig en veelzijdig genoeg om er dagelijks wel te willen komen. De omgeving is sowieso geweldig (voor wie van ruig houdt). En het gastheerschap van Ron en Dick tops it off: we voelen ons door hen zeer welkom en thuis. Elk jaar fijn om hen weer te zien. Kortom: fijne plek, Mas Taillet!

Wij hebben een heerlijk week gehad in de gîte. Deze was heel comfortabel, schoon en ruim met groot terras. Dick en Ron zijn geweldige gastheren zonder opdringerig te zijn. Lekker ongedwongen en goede tips. We hebben veel moois en leuke dorpjes gezien. De Spaanse kust is ook dichtbij. Bij de gîte was de temperatuur perfect in deze hete zomer.Het contact met de dieren is ook leuk, vooral de poezen zaten vaak bij ons op terras. Kortom een aanrader. Wie weet komen we nog eens.
