The house
Anjou is a compact stone built cottage designed with tranquillity for two in mind. It has an open plan lounge with fully fitted kitchen area and a spacious shower room downstairs, with a large beamed bedroom upstairs. It is set in a courtyard with two other gites and has a private fenced garden with access to the shared swimming pool.

We are situated in a small of hamlet of six properties on a quiet lane set in woodland. We are located 3.5 km from our nearest village which has a supermarket, petrol station, pharmacy, ATM Boulangerie and and bars. In the other direction is another village with bar, post office , museum and a grocery shop/boulangerie.. The beautiful town of Saumur is 25km away on the banks of the Loire river.

I was nervous using this site but all my worries were quickly resolved and we found this gite at short notice for my daughter and I for a few days break. Owners on site which means ready access to problem solving and info on local places. One of 3 Gites with lovely clean shared pool. Well kitted our and we had secluded courtyard garden and a secret garden with sun loungers and additional table chairs and umbrella. Good fan to keep cool at night. Mobile reception good outside Gite - no WiFi inside Gite. Thank you to owners for friendly help
Restaurants, food & wine
We are situated on the edge of one of the biggest wine regions in France and there are literally hundreds of vineyards offering tasting and tours within a short drive. The Loire region is famous for all of it's wine but in particular the Cremant sparkling wine that comes in white, rose and even red! There are small village restaurants in all directions serving fresh local produce and a visit to Saumur will provide excellent food for all tastes from a sandwich to Michelin starred meals.
Activities
Set on a very quiet lane and surrounded by forest there are endless walking and cycling trails just outside the gate. There are a range of mountain bikes for guests use, horse riding centre nearby and 20 minutes to freshwater lakes for swimming, paddle boarding, kayaking or fishing. We have a 10m heated swimming pool on site surrounded by decking that is open from May to the end of September ( weather permitting) and a boule court with decking at the top of the garden. Puy de Fou theme park is just over an hour away. Visit chateaux and gardens , stroll round cobbled streets in old towns , explore troglodyte houses , visit the local markets or simply relax next to the pool or in the garden with a cool glass of fizz!

Further remarks
We chose this location because it is peaceful and tranquil but based in a living working community with all the services needed for everyday life. We live on site with our cocker spaniel and aim to be invisible unless you need us.
