The house
Courfontaine is an ancient detached farmhouse in the middle of the countryside. It has a large kitchen and from that a laundry and wc room. There is a large salon and a separate study / tv room. the Master Bedroom is reached by its own staircase and leads to the private en-suite with shower and bath. Another staircase from the salon goes to the other 2 bedrooms who share a bathroom with shower.. There are large grounds just for you to use and lovely views over the lake and surrounding countryside. There is a large lockable barn where you can store bikes or provisions [ there are a couple of fridges to keep wines and beers cold ].

Courfontaine is situated in an area around the town of Evron known as the Coëvrons in the département of the Mayenne and within the Parc Naturel Régional de Normandie-Maine.
This is big open countryside land with big blue skies and woods and forests to explore along quiet chemins [country lanes].
The roads are empty and the people friendly, particularly if you make an effort to speak in their language, however badly !
Some people have said it's like England as they imagine it 60 years ago, but with better food and drink.
There is no better area for coming to have a holiday deconnected from the busy world.

Prachtige locatie in mooi gebied. Een fijn huis, ruim en van alle gemakken voorzien. We waren er met het gezin in de zomer maar het zou ook zeer geschikt zijn met slechter weer. Fantastische tuin met veel verscholen plekken waar je kan luieren of eten. Een warm welkom van de eigenaar. Een aanrader!

Blanc Bonnet is an authentic, cosy French cottage with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The gite itself is very spacious, comfortable and well-equipped. We immediately felt at home. The garden was a great place to relax and enjoy peace and quiet with beautiful country views. This is a charming area in which to stay if you want to be off the tourist trail in rural France. The countryside around is very attractive, and the roads are never busy. There are several beautiful villages and towns not too far away with markets for fresh, local produce and great to just wander around and enjoy lunch or a drink at a pavement cafe. The hosts were very welcoming and helpful with local knowledge and guidance. Thank you.

Sinds begin 2018 hebben wij in totaal 11 maal in deze geweldige gîte verbleven. Vanaf het eerste bezoek zijn we totaal verliefd geworden op de streek en wel zo hard dat we er intussen zelf een huis gekocht hebben en er nu ook permanent wonen. Blanc Bonnet is een uiterst aangename gîte met fantastische uitzichten. De rust is overweldigend en je hoort enkel de vogels en de krekels. Blanc Bonnet is heel centraal gelegen en ideaal om allerlei uitstapjes te maken. Forêt de Sille, een bos van 3500 ha, ligt op wandelafstand en staat garant voor uren wandelgenot. De eigenaars zijn heel vriendelijk en gedienstig, geen vraag is hen te veel maar zijn tegelijk heel discreet. Met andere woorden, een echte aanrader.
