The house
In the Heart of the Vendée on the west coast of France is your future holiday address for 7 people.
If you are looking for peace, nature and space in your holiday, the small domain Grand Boreas is ideal for you.
Grand Boreas is an extension of my holiday home Petit Boreas (GITES: 15454) for 5 persons combined with a spacious mobile home for 2 persons.
You have full access to most of the owner's total property. On the overview photo, red lines indicate the contours. This shows Petit Boreas, the caravan, the swimming pool and the climbing & playing forest.
The caravan has a small kitchen, bedroom with double bed and a chemical toilet for the night. The kitchenette is equipped with microwave, fridge, coffee machine and kettle. Breakfast and lunch can be prepared in the caravan. Sleeping in the caravan on the edge of the forest is excellent. All other facilities, such as cooking and sanitation, can be found in Petit Boreas. Petit Boreas is fully equipped.
The spacious upper floor has 2 bedrooms with a total of 5 beds. One bedroom has a double bed with a spacious 4-door wardrobe. A Velux skylight provides daylight and ventilation. And one bedroom with a 3-person bunk bed, 2 persons downstairs and 1 upstairs. This bedroom also has wardrobe space.
Downstairs is the bathroom with shower and toilet, a spacious kitchen equipped with 4-burner stove with oven, a dishwasher, a large fridge-freezer and a microwave. Adjacent to the kitchen is a spacious dining area. The cosy seating area makes it complete. The television has all Dutch channels. WiFi is also available.

The pool is "open" from the beginning of May until the end of October.

This charming, former bakery, is ideal for nature lovers. It has many original details and a cosy terrace and a spacious garden. From your garden you can walk straight into the forest. The holiday home has an open kitchen, which is furnished to a modern standard. Here you can prepare delicious specialities from the region, such as sardines or confit de canard. When the weather is warm, you can use the swimming pool in the common area. The children can play in the pool or on the trampoline, while you sunbathe on a comfortable lounger. In this beautiful region of France, which is on UNESCO's World Heritage list, you can take beautiful cycling and walking trips. Tips for a day out: Les Sable d'Olonne (75km) is the third largest seaside resort in France. A boulevard with more than 300 bars and restaurants and a beautiful beach. Lucon(22km) with its historic cathedral and town centre. La Rochelle (50km) known from Fort Boyard has a beautiful shopping area and at the harbour many restaurants. You can also take boat trips here. Within a radius of 40km there are also a number of amusement parks.

Restaurants, food & wine
In the vicinity, there are several wine farms. Especially in the direction of Nantes, there is a real wine route. What would you suggest to visit these and taste the delicious French wines.
There are also several breweries within a 30-minute drive.
Activities
The very central location of the holiday cottage in the Vendée means there are a huge number of major and minor attractions within easy reach. Too many to mention here. Several French coastal towns with beaches in the Vendée are also perfectly accessible. In the cottage, lots of information is available for lots of great days out.
But......In our own piece of woodland, adjacent to the garden where the swimming pool is and a lawn to play on, we have created a real climbing & playing forest with, among other things, a 20-metre cableway and a large trampoline. How nice is that for your children to play, stay and romp around there! See the photos elsewhere on this advertisement!
Between the vegetable garden and the garden of Petit Boreas, we have created a chicken run. A few chickens scratch around in it.
We get fresh eggs from the chickens. The real outdoor feeling!
The swimming pool, sun terrace, playground and Play & Climbing Forest are for your private use.

It is best to drive to the car park of the supermarket Casino in Ste Hermine. Or to the Church in La Réorthe. Then we will meet there.

Grand Boreas is only rented in the months of June, July, August and September
Pets:
As indicated, pets are welcome. For this we charge an extra fee of €.25,= per stay, which will be deducted from the rent. Your pet is not allowed upstairs (sleeping quarters) and preferably at night in the available crate.
Use of washing machine is possible with the owner. Drying in the sun on the line in the own garden.
