The house
"It's not perfect, it's paradise". Many centuries ago, grapes were pressed at this very spot to make wine. Now it has transformed into a unique cottage with a view at the moat. This holiday home features a spacious living room with a fully equipped kitchen, a fireplace and a dining area. Ideal for families with young children or couples.
Most castles have a 'look-but-don't-touch' policy. Not with us, we want to surprise our guests with little things that make a big difference. Our Château is an ideal base for families with children as well as couples, providing a perfect getaway in Vendee. We cherish life's simple pleasures that bring a smile to your face. With our personal approach and attention to detail, we aim to make you feel at home. Whether it's unexpected surprises for your children or an extra touch of romance for yourself.

We clean the cottage after departure, but we hope it is left broom clean.

Discover the unspoiled nature surrounding our castle, surrounded by 8 hectares of rolling vineyards. A unique location where you can enjoy the peace and quiet of the French countryside while still being close to everything.
But what really makes this region special? The vibrant Nantes, known for its creativity and innovation, has a hidden gem called Les Machines de l'Ile. Here you will find beautiful machines and creations based on the stories of Jules Verne, including a 12-meter-high elephant and a carousel with an incredible underwater world decor. An experience you won't soon forget!
Just 40 km away from our castle, you will find the second largest theme park in France, Puy du Fou. Here, you can experience 26 historical shows daily that feel like watching a Hollywood movie. In between, you can stroll through the various villages and score fun souvenirs. A fantastic day out for every age, and especially unique because the park's theme perfectly matches the history of our castle.
And what about the endless beaches just 70 km from our castle? From Plage Pornic in the north to Les Sables d'Olonne in the south, you'll find the widest and most beautiful beaches in France. Additionally, this region has the most sunshine hours per day in all of France, earning it the nickname "Côte Lumière." An ideal destination for a day out in the sun!
But there is still so much more to discover in our area. Hidden shops, cozy bars and restaurants, and a sports hall in an old warehouse. Or take a stroll along the Loire river and admire the unique details in the city. Don't forget to visit the fifteenth-century Château des Ducs de Bretagne, with the only giant slide on the outside of a castle in the world! Net terug in de NL. We hebben net 10 nachten in de Gite Le Pressoir geslapen, en zijn nog helemaal in het kasteelgevoel. Het was er heerlijk rustig en helemaal compleet ingericht, Bedden zijn super en de badkamer heerlijk. Hiernaast hebben we heel erg geboft met het weer, was de laatste 3 weken van oktober boven de 25 graden, en hebben zelfs twee maal ge-BBQ-d en tot laat buiten gezeten.
Onze beide 'kasteelheren' hebben ons fantastische tips aan de hand gedaan waar wij normaal niet heen zouden gaan, echt super! Neem bijv. Puy du Fou, Passage du Gois, en een indruk van het festival Hellfest in Clisson. Verder hebben we via Komoot hele mooie fietstochten gemaakt. Uiteraard met een Vélo électrique.
Kortom een heel fijn verblijf gehad met twee fantastische hostes. Sandra en Paul bedankt.

Niet meer twijfelen maar boeken!
We zijn hier deze zomer geweest met ons gezin met 3 jongens. Een paradijselijk plekje met een perfecte verhouding tussen heerlijke rust, prachtige omgevingen en mits gewenst leuke uitstapjes binnen handbereik. Bij Sandra en Paul ontbreekt het aan niks! Super gastvrij en uitstekende zorg voor alles. We hebben het allemaal super gehad. We verbleven in Le Pressoir wat een heerlijk huisje is voor een gezin. Het licht schilderachtig aan het water en is een succes verzekerd voor menig lekker avondje aan de mooie lange tafel. Oh en vergeet het heerlijke verwarmde zwembad niet! We hebben een super lekkere week gehad op het kasteel. We logeerden in La Pressoir, een heerlijke gite bij het kasteel. Fijne tuin met een heerlijke schommelbank. Onze jongens hebben het heel erg naar hun zin gehad: spelletjes in de tuin, varen op de kasteelvijver, zelf speurtochten maken in de grote tuin. Met een fijne wijnboer aan de overkant en BBQ op ons terras hebben we ons heerlijk vermaakt. Thanx aan kasteelvrouw en kasteelheer Sandra & Paul voor alle tips en tricks en het fijne verblijf! We komen zeker nog een keer terug!

Further remarks
When we met, we decided to lead an exciting life, do things differently, live life to the fullest. From an impulsive wedding on a sunny beach to raising our four amazing children abroad. Making things ourselves instead of buying off the shelf or baking sandwiches over a campfire instead of choosing from the menu.
In 2019, we fell in love with Château de la Preuille. Our dream is to turn this castle into a fun, exciting, and magical place where families and romantic couples feel at home.
Having four children of our own, we know what it takes to give them a great experience (but of course, also for yourselves).
We welcome our guests in a way that reflects how we like to live. Every stay should be unforgettable, for our guests, and for us too.
