The house
Our gîte is situated in a historic house in a quaint village located in the south of the Vendée. Downstairs you will find the living room with open hearth, a separate complete kitchen, a bedroom (double bed 160 cm) with ensuite bathroom with shower. There is also an additional bathroom and laundry room. Upstairs is another bedroom (double bed 140 cm) and the way to the mezzanin. In the mezzanin are two single beds (each 120 cm) for kids.
During your holiday we know you want things easy and comfortable. With this in mind we make available to you a washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, hot air oven, induction hobs, two refrigerators, a freezer, 2 TV’s - one with satellite ( english, german, dutch, spanish ... channels), video recorder, 2 DVD players, a stereo and a telephone. You will also find books, videos and DVD and games, free wifi internet connection
Linens are towels are included and your beds will be made up for you upon arrival.
For a restful and enjoyable stay, you find a private garden, a stone patio with garden furniture, a large outdoor dining area with a purpose built chimney-barbecue and garden furniture, a private garden.
Mmountain bicycles for adults and mountain bicycles for children are available free of charge.

Gîte de la Gravée is right in the centre of the village Saint Michel le Cloucq, gateway to large wooded areas of the Mervent-Vouvant and Marais Poitevin. There are endless hiking and biking paths to explore, as well as many equestrian routes. The house lies in quite a historical area scattered by many roman churches, cloisters and cathedrals. The Atlantic coast has many interesting places to visit by car including La Rochelle, les Sables d’Olonne en les îles de Ré, and Aix et Oléron. Other known places like le Puy du Fou, le Futuroscope and Cognac are not far off either.

Geweldige gite met heel veel ruimte, zowel binnen als buiten! Het ligt in een heel rustig dorp vlakbij Fontenay, waar -in tegenstelling tot veel andere plekken in Frankrijk- niet heel veel andere Nederlanders te vinden zijn. Veel van de topattracties zijn op acceptabele rij afstand terwijl je bij deze gite maximaal tot rust kunt komen. Wij hebben er heerlijk gefietst naar onder andere de Marais Poitevin en de Mervent. De gite is van alle gemakken voorzien en de gastvrouw is zeer attent!

Merci d'avoir pris le temps d'écrire un sympathique commentaire. Le gite avec ses différents espaces extérieurs vous a permis de profiter du calme de la région et de vous détendre. Les pistes cyclables permettent de découvrir la région : le Marais Poitevin au relief plat et le bocage vers Mervent et au-delà au relief plus accidenté. Vous avez apprécié vos vacances et nous en sommes ravis.

Een schitterende gîte, sfeervol ingericht en van alle gemakken voorzien, meer dan compleet! We werden gastvrij ontvangen met allerlei lekkernijen, waaronder een heerlijke fles rode wijn van een wijngaard uit de buurt. Die zijn we zelf ook gaan bezoeken om wat wijn mee terug naar Nederland te nemen. In het huis ligt genoeg informatie wat er zoal te beleven is in de streek. Vanuit de gîte kun je schitterende wandelingen maken, evenals in de wijde omgeving. De markering laat soms te wensen over, maar dat is op te lossen met Google Maps! Het is een gebied met weinig toerisme en de lunchmogelijkheden in de regio zijn legio. Tegen een verbluffend lage prijs krijg je een heerlijke maaltijd voorgeschoteld!

Geweldige gite. Alles is aanwezig en meer nog. Moeder en dochter zijn heel erg behulpzaam en uiterst vriendelijk. We werden hartelijk ontvangen met een fles wijn, cake, zelfgemaakte Jam, koffie thee. Te veel om op te noemen. De eerste gite waar een nespresso koffie machine staat.

We can offer you numerous addresses of local regional food producers like the fine wineries of the Vendée such as le Vix, le Pissotte ou le Prieuré de la Chaume, honey makers, and not to be forgotten Brioche, better known as le Préfou, or foie gras etc...

Further remarks
Prices include normal electricity expenses, water, towels, house linen and bed linen. Prices exclude additional consumption of electricity both for general use and heating and wood for fireplace.
The rental price excludes end of stay cleaning. End of stay cleaning is the responsibility of the departing client(s). A supplement of Euros 50 may be paid to provide this service.
Deposit of 25% is requested at time of booking with balance due 4 weeks prior to arrival
