The house
In the heart of the Marais Poitevin, in a haven of peace and greenery, Christine and Claude will be delighted to welcome you to their gîte at "Bas des Vignes".
The animals: Kalou the donkey, Quad the horse, the sheep and the chickens will delight young and old alike.
Located on the border of 3 departments, Vendée, Deux-Sèvres, Charente Maritime, "Bas des Vignes" is the starting point for many activities and visits.

Fishermen can enjoy their sport in a green and peaceful setting on the banks of the Sèvre Niortaise and its tributaries, the Autize, the Mignon and the Vendée.
Hikers and cyclists will enjoy the many paths and tracks. A secure bicycle storage area is available.
Children have their own play area, swings, slide, etc.... For babies we have all the necessary equipment, bath, cot, high chair and pushchair.
The gîte (studio with mezzanine, sleeping accommodation on the mezzanine, shower room/WC on the ground floor) is fully equipped: washing machine, fridge/freezer, oven, microwave, hob, television, crockery, small electrical appliances, blankets, pillows.
A free horse-drawn carriage ride will take you through the Vizeron vineyards.

"Le Bas des Vignes is located in VIX in the south of Vendée, on the border of 3 départements: Vendée , Deux-Sèvres , Charente- Maritime .
The property covers 3 hectares, with a swimming pool, a pond and a poplar grove, at the foot of the VIX vineyards, classified as one of the Vendée fiefs.
The abbeys of Maillezais and Nieul-sur-l'Autize and the small towns of character (Vouvant and Foussais) bear witness to the rich history of our region.
Les Sables d'Olonne and the Puy du Fou are 1 hour away, while La Rochelle, the Ile de Ré and the Atlantic beaches are 35 minutes away.

The vineyards of VIX, classified among the fiefs vendéens are in front of our house! You can discover a variety of wines directly from the cellar (in moderation)
The brioche vendéenne, the préfou, the foies gras as well as the products derived from the duck, the coffee liqueur the Kamok, the trouspinette (vendéen aperitif) are specialities of our region.
We will advise you on the best restaurants and producers in our region where you can taste all these specialities!

The swimming pool awaits you for a moment of relaxation and rest.
Hiking, cycling and fishing are available from "Bas des Vignes" as well as visits to the typical villages of the Marais Poitevin, La Venise Verte and its boat trips with or without a guide.
Do you like horses? There is a riding school nearby.
You can sail on the lake of Mervent, nautical base with boat rental.
The lake of Xanton-Chassenon allows you to spend a pleasant day with your family, supervised swimming, water games
Zoo of Mervent, aquarium of La Rochelle, park of accro-branches of Fontenay-le-Comte, aquatic park O' Gliss of Moutiers -les -Mauxfaits etc... will delight large and small
