The house
Luxurious and spacious holiday home (chalet type) located on the south side of the French Alps.
Along the dead end tarmac road behind the house with parking facilities you reach the front door.
Layout ground floor: hall, spacious cosy living room, open kitchen with all amenities. Heating with wood stove and electric heaters.
Through double doors access to balcony (10 x 3 meters) with great views.
Also on the ground floor: bedroom/study, toilet and bathroom that also serves as a utility room.
On the first floor 2 bedrooms and a bathroom with bath, toilet and separate shower.
The basement contains a bedroom, a sitting room and a bathroom. This creates a separate studio with the necessary privacy. Ideal for example for accompanying parents or children. The 3rd bathroom with toilet, shower and washing machine is located here. Under and beside the house terraces with BBQ possibilities.
The house is newly built by us in 2009 and equipped with Wifi.

The house is located on the flanks of the Ceuse in the hamlet of la Montagne-Manteyer. The 2000 m2 terrain runs quite steeply uphill and contains various rockeries and trees. The house stands at the top of the plot and is easily accessible by car via the dead end tarmac road.
The plot gives a beautiful view of the surrounding mountains but also has sheltered spots in the green.
In the valley (5 km) at La Roche des Arnouds are several shops: bakery, butcher, greengrocer, kiosk. In Gap (15 km) or in Veynes you can do a lot of shopping.
The immediate surroundings are perfect for (mountain) walks or sporty cycling tours.
The Ecrins National Park and the Provence offer all the possibilities for nice trips.

Wat hebben we genoten van het huis! Het was 2 weken paradijs. Zo heerlijk rustig en veel mogelijkheden om in de bergen te wandelen, ook vanuit het huis en iets verder weg in de Drome en het nationaal park Les Ecrins. Leuke plaatsjes in de buurt (Gap). Een zeer comfortabel verblijf, ruim en met prachtig uitzicht. Het was precies wat we zochten. We voelden ons er helemaal thuis. Dank aan Ada en Piet.

L’endroit est fabuleux. C’est un chalet très confortable, bien équipé et propre qui est situé dans un cadre de montagne exceptionnel. La vue de la terrasse est splendide à 360 degrés sur les montagnes et la vallée.
Piet et Ada sont des personnes de confiance et très sympathiques.
Le chalet est au grand calme dans un petit hameau de montagne composé uniquement de jolis chalets en bois avec des habitants très accueillants.
Les randonnées partent directement du chalet, le ski est à 20 minutes (Dévoluy). Gap est à 15 km et les sorties sont nombreuses autour du lac de Serre-Ponçon ou dans les montagnes.
La vue depuis la terrasse est vraiment incroyable.
Ici c’est reposant, ressourçant et juste le paradis !

Fantastisch huis. Voorzien van alle gemakken. Mooi uitzicht vanuit het huis. Locatie is een goed uitgangspunt voor mooie tochten. De Franse Alpen zijn schitterend.

Small ski area ( Ceuse) near the house, ski area : Superdevoluy - Joue du Loup about 30 minutes drive away.
Restaurants, food & wine
Gap has a lively centre with numerous terraces and restaurants. The Provencal villages and their atmosphere are nearby, as well as the wine region of the Drome.
Activities
The environment is characterised by the high mountains of the Hautes Alpes where peace, space and nature are abundant.
To the south, you enter the northern part of the Provence where the mountains become lower and the environment is characterised by vineyards and fruit trees. The villages (for example, Sisteron) along the rivers are worth visiting.
Towards the west, you will reach the Drôme with its lavender fields (les baronnies) and picturesque villages. For a good glass of wine on a terrace you go to Gap (with a nice historical centre) or to Serres where you can taste the Provençal atmosphere. In the vicinity of the house are several restaurants to find from simple in la Roche des Arnouds at the foot of the mountain, to the good French cuisine (eg Les Olivades) in Gap.
In summer:
In the summer several mountain walks on the Ceüse are possible from the house. The Devoluy and the national park Les Ercins are easy to reach by car and offer an almost unlimited range of hikes and other mountain sports (mountain biking, climbing, rafting, canyoning, etc.).
The reservoir Lac de Serre-Ponçon near Gap can be reached by car in about 35 minutes. Sailing and surfing are possible on this lake. In addition, there is a smaller lake with a beach in Pelleautier, about 10 minutes from the house, for the necessary cooling. The plan d'eau in Veynes is also very suitable for swimming.
Winter time:
In the winter there are extensive winter sports facilities in the vicinity of the house. On the Ceuse itself you can, provided there is enough snow, ski. In addition, in winter beautiful walks can be made, with or without snowshoes.
At about 30 minutes by car is the ski resort Le Devoluy with the villages la Joue du Loup and Super Devoluy. This is a snow-sure ski area with about 100km of slopes, suitable for starting to advanced skiers. In addition, in the Devoluy there are several other winter sports to be practised.
