WELCOME TO 7 PLACE ST. PIERRE
This lovely old stone medieval house was once one of the olive mills in the village where olives were pressed, silk worms worked their magic on the higher floors and outside you will see the rings where donkeys were tethered delivering each load of olives for pressing. Lovingly restored by Sarah & David we are sure you will enjoy this ancient house.
Place St. Pierre is located in the village of Callas below the ruined Castle walls in a quiet square and just a short 5 minute walk to the village.
The house has recently been re-furbished and is finished to a very high standard with all home comforts.
On the ground floor you will find the stylish new kitchen and traditional provencal dining area. On the first floor are the two bedrooms, shower room and separate toilet. On the second floor is the lounge and you will love our top floor roof terrace offering all day sunshine as it is south facing with amazing views down across the vineyards, towards the Maures & Esterel mountains and down to the sea in the distance.
Set in the Medieval village of Callas and surrounded by vineyards this is Provence at its best!

Further remarks

Markets in and around Callas

Visiting an open-air market in Provence is one of life’s little pleasures. Market day has been a way of life for Provençals as well as most Europeans for generations. The market serves as much as a social function as an opportunity to shop, bringing together the community each week and also provides a glimpse into everyday life in Provence.
Provençal markets abound with tantalising colours and smells. Sun-kissed fruits melons, peaches and apricots, colourful vegetables, tasty tomatoes, aubergines (eggplant) and courgettes (zucchini) all indispensable to Provençal cuisine.
Of course there is also the sun, the conviviality, the local humour and the way of taking one’s time … talking, joking, feeling and appreciating the company of friends and neighbours, and enjoying the moment. These are all delightful aspects of any visit to a local market.
