The house
THE PROVENCAL ATMOSPHERE EVERYONE IS LOOKING FOR! Further upgrades will be done to this house in autumn 2023 and spring 2024. New photos will follow as soon as all work is completed.
l'Estello dou Pastre (The Star of the Shepherd) is a cosy house built in the typical local 'en-pierre' style in a natural setting and is rented for 6 people (a 7th guest is possible by arrangement). The cosy house offers optimum privacy without being remote or lonely and the grounds are enclosed by a fence. The entrance gate has remote control and there is parking space for several cars. The private pool is in front of the house.
In the kitchen there is opportunity to eat at the spacious table. The kitchen is equipped with oven, ceramic hob, dishwasher and a double fridge (one with a freezer compartment). From the kitchen, on the left is a bathroom with shower, sink and toilet. Straight ahead you will find the washing machine and to the right you enter the cosy living room through a small library. The living room has a built-in fireplace. Of course, the house also has internet access. A double bedroom can be accessed from the living room. Above the living room is the second bedroom with a single and a double bed. The third bedroom with double bed and private shower, washbasin and toilet is located a few dozen metres from the house in a so-called cabanon.
There is ample (shaded) parking space on the property. There are luxurious loungers by the pool and on a separate terrace behind the house a large stone dining table and next to a stone work table/bar is your Weber barbecue. Higher up on the property there are also opportunities for meals. On a raised round terrace there is a lounge set close to the pool to enjoy drinks and relax. There are plenty of large parasols and mood lighting to spend your evenings in a fairytale atmosphere....

The villa is close to the typical Provencal village of Carcès. The privacy is optimal.
In Carcès you will find, among other things, your baker, butcher, the supermarket Ecomarché, a bank branch, post office, terraces and restaurants. The weekly market is on Saturday mornings. 10 kilometres away is Cotignac with many atmospheric terraces of bars and restaurants. The incredibly lively market here is on Tuesday mornings. Under the plane trees on the 'Cours' of Cotignac, you can dream away with a pastis or a cup of coffee with the question in the back of your mind whether you still want to return to the 'cool' north. On Sunday mornings, there is a very nice market in Salernes. There are many Provençal bistros and restaurants in the nearby area of Carcès.
Villages such as Sillans, Salernes, Flayosc, Lorgues, Tourtour and Aups are within a 20 km radius and worth a visit. The beaches of Frejus and St Tropez are 50 km away. The cities of Aix-en-Provence, Nice, Cannes, Toulon/Hyers and Marseille can be reached in about 1 hour by car.

Restaurants, food & wine
There are many Provençal bistros and restaurants in the nearby area of Carcès, as well as numerous wineries and the famous Provençal markets.
If you like wine, the Carcès area is the right place to be. Rosé is of course the main product in this region, but meanwhile good white and red wines are also made. If you are interested, Margherita and Ron, your local contacts, will be happy to give you the addresses of some good wineries. Upon request, we can also organise a wine tasting at l'Estello dou Pastre during one of the afternoons or evenings of your stay. In addition to the wine, we can also prepare an accompanying snack for you. We will discuss the details with you so that you can learn more about the wines of the Var, or deepen your knowledge of them, and your wishes regarding the accompanying appetisers are pleasant, to your liking and within your budget.
Activities
l'Estello Dou Pastre is ideally situated for pursuing a wide range of activities in the area such as fishing, kayaking, cycling/mountain biking and hiking through the nearby vineyards. There is fishing in the nearby Lac de Carcès and rock climbing in Correns. There are more than 10 golf courses in the area and you can also go horseback riding nearby. At about 45 minutes distance, you will find the natural beauty of the Gorges du Verdon. Not only beautiful to look at, but also ideal for mountain climbing, mountain biking, canoeing, pedal boats etc. Beach and sea are reachable within 45 minutes.

Additional price info and offers
Rents do not include additional energy costs, final cleaning of the house and possible rental of bed linen, towels and kitchen towels. Pets are also subject to a surcharge.
The compulsory final cleaning costs € 150
Linen can be hired on request (bed linen € 15.00 and towels € 10.00 pp).
Pet surcharge: € 60
Security deposit € 750.
The above surcharges must be paid in cash on arrival. The deposit will be settled by bank together with the rent and tourist tax.
We are happy to discuss the costs of your 'own' wine tasting and possibly a snack or even a meal at your home.

We hebben hier een heerlijke vakantie gehad. Het was wel even wennen aan alle op- en afstapjes en het is zeker niet geschikt voor mensen die slecht ter been zijn, echter heerlijke privacy en toch op prima afstand van alle leuke dingen in de omliggende dorpen.
