The house
Notre Jardin consists of the main house, a covered outdoor terrace, a separate summer kitchen and a studio. Together 90 m2. It is set in a beautiful walled garden of 600 m2. The main house has a living room with patio doors to the garden also the bedroom has patio doors to the garden. There is a bathroom, a toilet, a large summer kitchen and a small winter kitchen. The covered terrace (tiled roof) is located between main house and summer kitchen. There is a shed with 2 bikes and garden tools, an outside toilet and a separate studio with two beds and a sitting area. Main house and studio both have brand new air conditioning. There is a water tank in the garden in which you cannot swim. Please note that the field around the cottage is not green in summer. This is because we are not allowed to spray in summer due to water shortage. Our cottage is located in the middle of Cotignac. You walk to the village square in 2 minutes. The cottage is on a walking route. Within 5 minutes you walk in the middle of nature. For winter, the living room has a beautiful wood-burning stove and each room has an electric radiator. Both air conditioners can also blow warm air in winter. There is a TV on which only Netflix.

Cotignac is the most beautiful village of France in Provence Verte. The village stands at the foot of an imposing cliff in which you can recognise stalactites and cave dwellings from the Middle Ages. The village is surrounded by forests and vineyards. It is a beautiful village with atmospheric narrow streets and several squares with old fountains. Because many famous people stayed in the old village hotel (Hotel Lou Calen), because of its appearance and special location (such as Brigitte Bardot, Joe Dassin, Pink Floyd, David Bowie and Sting), Cotignac is also called Petit St. Tropez. The village is an hour's drive from the Mediterranean Sea, from Lac de Saint-Croix and from a beautiful city like Aix en Provence. In summer, it is warm, often around 30*C. Walls, streets and shutters keep the temperature pleasant (both buildings have brand new air conditioning).

Restaurants, food & wine
Cotignac is a wine village and you can eat well there. Hotel Lou Calen (100 metres from our house) has hired a star chef from Paris, the restaurant is called Jardin Secret. That is very good, but we usually eat in the ordinary cosy restaurants around the central village square. There the food is generally very good and the wine as good as you like. Our favourite restaurants are Picote, Marie Alice, le Temps de Pose and Café de l'Union.
