Surroundings
Gareoult where the holiday house Le Grand Paradis is located, lies between Brignoles and Toulon, the airports of Marseille, Nice on 1-1.5 hours drive and in the summer also Toulon.
Garéoult (6000 inhabitants) lies on a plain on 300 m height, through which the Issole flows. Garéoult is a lively village, with new housing estates around the old centre. To the north there are several sources and the village is surrounded by 500 ha of vineyards and 700 ha of woods and bushes. The area is hilly. This is the heart of the Var, between the mountains of Sainte Baume and Esterel, with the plain des Maures, fertile valleys, forests and red rocks with tranquil villages that lie stewing in the sun. Pure nature and peace, and yet only a few dozen kilometres from the Mediterranean Sea.
A day on the road? Visit the Massif des Maures or the Massif de Sainte Baume, beautiful areas for nature lovers and hikers. In the immediate vicinity of nice places / villages such as Toulon, Brignoles, Néoules, Entrecasteaux, Carcès, Cotignac etc. Would you like to sniff culture, Aix-en-Provence and Arles are resp. 1 and 1.5 hours away.
Want to spend a day at home in holiday home Le Grand Paradis? That is not a punishment. Sit down with a good book and/or a nice glass of wine on one of the three cosy terraces in the garden, or under a tree somewhere in the garden. Enjoy!
Holiday home Le Grand Paradis is ideally situated in the Provence-Verte, Var, because in half an hour you are at the beaches of the Mediterranean Sea.
Visit the lively port of Toulon (35 km) with its lively weekly market, or visit Hyères, Presqu'ile de Giens and take the boat to the green island of Porquerolles. There are various walking and cycling routes on this beautiful island. Everywhere, you can smell the scent of mimosa and those delicious Provençal herbs. Nature is beautiful here. The island is only 7 km long and 3 km wide, so an idyllic bay to cool down is always nearby.
