The house
Cosy detached villa with airco and nice pool on the edge of Lorgues. Sunbathing on the sun beds next to the pool or relaxing in a hammock in the shadow under the olive trees. The veranda is perfect for lounging or having dinner. The outdoor kitchen has cold and hot running water and there is a large gas bbq with burner, plancha and grill. In summer we do all the cooking outside. The herb garden is next to the outdoor kitchen. There are several seating areas and garden lights which beautifully light the palm- and olives trees at night. The garden has several levels with our jeu de boule court at the lowest level.
The terrace and swimming pool are completely private, a wonderful place to relax!
In side a pleasantly decorated living room with dining table and seating area near the fire place. A cosy open kitchen and utility room. On the lower level there are two bedrooms and a third one can be created by closing the sliding doors in the living room, here you have a good quality double sofa bed. On the first floor is another bedroom with double bed under the sloped ceiling. There is a large bathroom with the two bedrooms below and another one on ground level. There are two WCs.
The airco is located in the room with the sofa bed, but the house feels relatively cool thanks to its thick walls and insulation.
Almost everything is new or good as new. The house is only rented out four weeks a year. You are our guests and welcome to use everything. So you will not arrive in an empty house.

l'Ange is three minutes driving from the old village centre of Lorgues with its many restaurants, shops and a large provencal market own Tuesday. On Friday there is a flea market/'brocante'.
The village has all amenities: baker's, butcher's, supermarket, chemist, medical services, petrol station, etc.
The sea, Gorges du Verdon, Aix en Provence and Nice are less than an hour's drive from the house. Plus there a several lively Provencal towns around Lorgues (15 min) and there are a number of sports activities possible.

L'Ange is on a cul-de-sac from a quiet road going up with houses and big gardens. The olive green gate will open for you and you have arrived at our beautiful place. Lorgues is 3 minutes. The day usually begins with a trip to the bakers's for croissants and baguettes. On Tuesday, the cosy Provencal market where you can buy delicious products from the region, Friday there is a Flea Market. Very nice to go and just have a cup of coffee on one of the terraces. Lorgues lies amidst the beautiful villages, such as Tourtour (very nice view) Salernes (ceramics), Villegroze (caves / garden) Silan (waterfall), all 15 minutes driving from our house. It is wonderful to drive through the Provencal countryside with vineyards and olive groves, not to mention the beautiful light in Provence. No wonder it attracted so many painters to this region. Lorgues is situated between Gorge Verdon and Saint Tropez, both an hour away. It is less crowded here than on the coast.
There are several golf courses, the closest is la Motte, Domaine de Saint Andriol, about 20 min. drive.
Arriving by plane at the airport of Toulon it is a 60 minute drive, and Nice and Marseille are a 75-minute drive, the A8 motorway is 15 minutes from our house. The TGV stops at Les Arcs, a 20-minute drive.

Heerlijke 2 weken gehad met zijn zessen. 2 gezinnen met 1 kind van 15. Dit is de Provence zoals je het je voorstelt! Je bent helemaal weg maar voelt je helemaal thuis.
Omgeving: Centraal zowel voor kust als naar binnenland. Wel echt auto nodig. Zeker doen: leuke dorpjes zoals Tourtour en Cotignan, allebei op 25 min afstand. Cannes bezocht en ook St Maxime is leuk. Green boats naar St Tropez is echt een aanrader. En je moet naar de markt in Lorgues op dinsdgaochtend. Die is zo leuk. Je kunt je goed 2 weken vermaken met uitjes. Nog lang niet alles gedaan wat we wilden. Lorgues heeft leuke restaurantjes. Tip: Optibouren. Goed eten en aardige bediening. In augustus muziek op straat elke avond. Lunchen? De keukens zijn na 14 uur vaak dicht. Dus op tijd bestellen.
Boodschappen: Intermarche op 6 minuten rijden. Goede slager en verse vis. En Casino in het centrum van Lorgues. Boulangerie op 3 min rijden. Daar zit ook een topzaak naast met groente. Heerlijk vers en goede spullen.
Huis: mooie smaakvolle inrichting. 4 ruime slaapkamers. Keuken van alles voorzien! Het huis voelt heel persoonlijk. Er is ook van alles aanwezig zoals spelletjes en boekjes. Bedden prima, ook de slaapbank. Wij hadden veel dagen boven de 35 graden en de nachten koelden niet af. En daardoor miste we airco in de slaapkamers. Er is 1 kamer met een goede airco. Er is wifi maar snelheid is laag. Appen etc gaat prima, maar streamen van film lukt niet zo goed.
Tuin: geweldig. Ligbedden, stoeltjes, parasols. Alles is er. En mooi zwembad om af te koelen. Klein baantje te zwemmen of urenlang (onze zonen) in te vermaken.

Een heerlijk huis dat prima voldoet aan de beschrijving; het enige wat mist (maar dat komt er wel aan 😊) is de jeu de boules baan.
Lorgues biedt alles wat je van een authentiek Frans plaatsje mag verwachten: een wekelijkse markt, leuke restaurants en gezelligheid.

Restaurants, food & wine
There are good restaurants everywhere. We have collected a number of business cards which you will find in the house.
A daily menu for 14 euros in a local restaurant or dine in an internationally known, star rated truffle restaurant "Chez Bruno" which is around the corner.
This is the region of wine, olives and truffles. There are wine chateaux everywhere and you will be pleasantly welcomed to taste their products. Even just a few hundred metres from our house a beautiful rose wine is being produced, which has been awarded a gold medal. The restaurants in Lorgues have dishes with truffle on the menu, even truffle pizza. But why not buy all these local delicacies and prepare a meal in the outdoor kitchen and enjoy it with a glass of rose wine!
Activities
Our house is a good starting point for lovely walks through vineyards or forest. By bike you can cycle through beautiful Provencal landscape to one of the picturesque villages.
There are many walking and cycling routes around Lorgues.
Children from all ages will enjoy the tree top ropes parcours in L'Arnaude Avenues which is nearby.
The Gorges de Verdon and lake le Croix, where you can go boating or windsurfing. It is beautiful to take a boat through the Gorge, between the high rock walls. Lovely cool in summer. You can also fish there as well as in other small rivers.
