The house
"Le Luberon" is the luxury gîte at Le rêve de Mieke.
On the ground floor is a fully equipped kitchen with electric hob (4 burners), fridge, microwave, oven, toaster, coffee maker, fryer etc. The spacious sitting area is also downstair, with satellite television, audio set, DVD player. This living room has a double sofa bed, which can easily be unfolded into a comfortable double bed. The upper floor is a mezzanine floor and has a double bed of 160 by 200cm. You will also find the very modern bathroom here with walk-in shower, wash basin, hair dryer, heating etc. There is internet connection, free WIFI, heating, airconditioning and an alarm system.
Outside is the private terrace with view of the swimming pool, a lavender field and the historic village Saignon. On the terrace you can relax in the comfortable garden chairs under the pergola or at the wooden table with benches. Enjoy the heated pool and the summer kitchen with BBQ and ice maker. There is an outdoor shower and wc.
You are welcome to use the washing machines, dryer and iron without charge.

The apartment is located about 700 km from Paris and can easily and quickly be reached by TGV from Lille to Avignon. This train ride only takes 4 hours, followed by another 45 kms by car.
"le rêve de Mieke" is located 1 km from the historic centre of Apt, which dates back to the 2nd century BC.
Apt, capital of the Luberon, offers all possibilities for shopping and dining out. The weekly market on Saturdays is the largest and liveliest of the Provence. Apt is also known for its candied fruit.
The rolling landscape is characterised by the very extensive vineyards and olive groves and the many beautiful lavender fields.Nature lovers can enjoy an extremely rich flora and fauna along many marked walking paths. For the sports enthusiasts, the mythical Mont Ventoux is 40 km away.
In the immediate vicinity, on the ridge of the Luberon, is one of the few natural cedar forests in the world.
In short, "Le rêve de Mieke" is a unique place to relax and enjoy a beautiful region with its well-known Provençal charms.

Wat een geweldige gite! Smaakvol ingericht en heerlijk rustig.
Je deelt het zwembad met 3 andere huisjes, maar hebt veel privacy door de goed geplaatste olijfbomen in je eigen tuin.
Als je de heuvel af gaat kom je in Apt. Het is wel een must om alles met de auto te doen. Het contact met Geert en Sofie was erg prettig. Geen vraag was te gek. Wij hebben genoten van het huis en de omgeving!Sandra Hulsenboom from IJSSELSTEIN UT,
Net terug van een heerlijke vakantie. Sofie en Geert, bedankt voor jullie hartelijke ontvangst en de vele leuke tips. De gite is ruim, schoon en van alle gemakken voorzien. De wifi werkt perfect (en dat geldt zeker niet overal in Frankrijk). Wij verbleven in gite Saignon, sfeervol ingericht, badkamer met een groot ligbad en een fijn extra terras aan de zijkant van het complex waar je tot laat buiten kunt genieten. Apt vonden wij wat minder gezellig maar er zijn voldoende leuke stadjes en restaurants in de omgeving. Mooie omgeving voor wandel- en fietstochten, met getrainde kuiten want het is flink heuvelachtig. Een absolute aanrader!

Wij hebben het hier geweldig gehad. Super mooi weer, geweldig verblijf. Alles is schoon en het verblijf is ook van alle gemakken voorzien... Behalve vaatwasser😀. Dat was even wennen maar op zich ging dat prima. We waren hier met 2 volwassene en kinderen van 9 en 5 jaar oud. We hebben het hier allemaal naar ons zin gehad en is zeker voor herhaling vatbaar. Ook in de omgeving is er genoeg te doen en genoeg ge zien.
Restaurants, food & wine
Apt is located on the border between the côte du Loberont and the côte du Ventoux. An ideal location to visit the numerous wine houses in the immediate vicinity and of course to try their wines. Some well known names which are certainly worth a visit are: Domaine de Marie in Ménerbes, Domaine Chasson in Rousillon, Domaine du Coulet Rouge in Roussillon etc.
For those with culinary interest we can certainly recommend restaurant La Platane in Apt. Le Sanglier Paresseux is top notch, as well as Le Bistrot de Lagarde ( 1 Michelin star). Highly recommended is Carrières des Taillades in Les Taillades. And at Intramuros, in the centre of Apt, you are taken back in time while enjoying real Provençal cuisine.
Activities
New: Explore the Luberon by E-Bike.
We now rent electric bicycles in our own business barely 1 km. from the gîtes, and this under the name Stations BEE'S.
There are city bicycles in various sizes, bicycles for children (smaller frame), VTT and all kinds of accessories.
Rental for half a day, a full day or a longer period is possible.
We are also happy to give you various trips and, if you wish, book a companion to discover the most beautiful places in the Luberon.
Reservations are not mandatory, but definitely recommended during the season.

Further remarks
Besides gîte "Le Luberon" there are three more gites in the same building, all completely private. Gites La Lavandin and Les Oliviers are almost identical to Le Luberon, but for larger groups these gites can be made into one gite by opening the large interior double doors. Gite Saigon offers more comfort and privacy. It has a utility room with dishwasher, washing machine and dryer, American fridge with ice maker. Televisions both upstairs and downstairs. It has a bathtub plus shower, parking in front and a second separate terrace.
The rental periods in June to mid September are always from Saturday 16.00 till Saturday 10.00.
From mid September to May we also do shorter rental periods. ( minimum of three nights)
Rental prices are per week during high season. For longer rental periods discounts can be given.
Rates are all in, so including tax, final cleaning, energy costs, bed- and bath linen.
When more than one gite is rented by the same party in the same period a we can give a discount..
We ask for a safety deposit of 500 euros per gite which will be refunded upon departure, and when no damages have occurred.
Cars can be rented at the TGV station as well as in Apt.
We can pick you up from the station if desired.
