The house
Chez Armand gites was built in 2012. It can accommodate 2 people. It has a large private garden with an unobstructed view of the fields and forests of Ventoux.
The gite is attached to the owner's house, but has its own entrance on the opposite side, ensuring complete privacy. Our hosts are calm and enjoy the quiet country life.
The gîte consists of an entrance hall, a living room with kitchen, dining area and lounge area, a bedroom and a bathroom. There are many windows, all with shutters. The French windows offer a beautiful view of the surroundings.
The gite is well insulated and comfortable, even at the start and end of the season. Autumn is the most colorful season in Provence. The weather is still fine and generally very stable.
The kitchen is well equipped with 2 induction hobs, fridge with freezer compartment, extractor hood, oven, coffee maker and kettle, etc.
In the living room, you will find a table and chairs, 1 armchair and a two-seater sofa, a television and a wood-burning stove. There is WiFi internet access.
The bedroom has a double bed (160 cm wide, can be separated), duvets, a large wardrobe, two large windows, one of which has a mosquito net.
The bedroom and living room are equipped with electric heaters.
The bathroom, accessible directly from the bedroom, has a rain shower, sink, suspended toilet and underfloor heating.
There is a shed next to the gite where you can store bikes. Your car can be parked in the shade. In the evening, the site is closed by a gate.
Gîte Bédoin has 3 stars (Gites de France).
If you have booked and the vacation cannot take place due to the corona crisis (travel restrictions, you being ill), we will always find a solution: change of the date of stay, refund, etc.

Chez Armand Gite is located on the sunny southern slope of Mont Ventoux, 500 m above sea level, on the edge of the vast forests of Ventoux. It is surrounded by vineyards, orchards and olive groves. The property is part of the commune of Bédoin, the starting point of the famous cycle path to the summit. The Gîte is located 1 km from the Mont Ventoux road. The village of Bédoin is 300 m above sea level and the town center is only 4 km from our house. It's a real Provençal village with a bakery, butcher, supermarket, newsagent, bike hire shop, doctor and pharmacy. There is also a large Provençal market every Monday as well as cafes and restaurants.
There are many picturesque villages in the surrounding area, such as Flassan (10 mins walk from the gite), Villes sur Auzon, Mormoiront, Crillon le Brave and Mazan.
The village and the house are surrounded by a beautiful landscape, with a remarkable view of Mont Ventoux, the Rhone Valley and the Dentelles de Montmirail.
The famous lavender fields of Sault are not far away, as are the beautiful towns of Carpentras, Avignon, Vaison la Romaine and Orange.
For hiking or cycling, you can go to the Gorges de la Nesque or the Monts de Vaucluse. Or you can walk or bike from the door!
During your stay, you can also discover Aix en Provence (Cézanne, Paris du Sud), Nîmes (Roman arenas), Gordes, the Abbey of Sénanque, the Gorges de l'Ardèche, the Pont du Gard, Arles (van Gogh, Roman Museum), Les Baux, the Gorges du Verdon, the Lac de Sainte-Croix, or the beautiful beaches of the Mediterranean.

In één woord geweldig! Prachtige locatie met een waanzinnig uitzicht en het zwembad was een traktatie op de warme dagen.
Service en gastvrijheid staan centraal, hier ervaar je het Provençaalse leven!
Het nazitten op onze laatste avond met Seb was genieten met een stukje taart, vers fruit en een heerlijk glas wijn.

Prachtige rustige plek met een fantastisch uitzicht richting Carpentras en aan de andere kant de Mnt Ventoux.
Zeer hartelijke en behulpzamen eigenaar. De gites is van alle gemakken voorzien e van daaruit zijn verschillende fraaie wandelingen te maken.
Minpunt: er staat in de info op de website van gites.nl dat er volledige privacy is. Echter, de terrassen en de entrees van de woning en de site zijn open met elkaar verbonden, hetgeen betekent dat je steeds in elkaars gezichtsveld vertoefd.Comment from Alexandra Chapman
Dank voor jullie reactie. Hopelijk hebben jullie toch een fijne vakantie gehad, ondanks het gezichtsveld, af en toe. De afstand van ruim 40 meter schept ook privacy. Jullie waren fijne gasten, Dank daarvoor.

Wij kijken terug op een zeer aangenaam verblijf in de gite. Mooie en unieke plek, veel rust, complete uitrusting met horren, en schoon. De onverharde weg is wel een aandachtspunt maar ook een kwestie van heel rustig rijden. Jaap en Ineke, bedankt! Groeten, Roelofje en Harry

Restaurants, food & wine
Bédoin and its surroundings are full of restaurants offering mainly Provençal cuisine. Within walking distance of the Gîte, you will find two restaurants with terraces and remarkable views of the surroundings.
In the markets you will find a wide range of Provençal specialties such as strawberries, cherries, apricots, melons, tomatoes, peaches, truffles, nuts, grapes, pumpkins and much more.
A little further afield you will find many wineries where you can taste and buy the delicious wines of the region: Vacqueras, Gigondas and Baume de Venise are nearby.
Activities
Many activities are possible in the immediate surroundings of the gîte: hiking (the GR 91 passes in front of our house), swimming, horse riding, cycling, tennis, climbing, mountain biking, paragliding etc. But the best thing is to enjoy the sun, the view and the tranquility around the house!
Provence is known for its pleasant climate. From March to mid-November, the weather is generally sunny and warm, with very little rain. Autumn is also a good season to discover the region.
Within a radius of 50 km, you can visit large cities such as Avignon, Marseille (cultural capital), Orange and Vaison la Romaine, but also: practice many sports activities such as gliding, paragliding or mountaineering.
In winter you can ski on Mont Serein (north side of Ventoux) only 15 km away. Mont Serein is a medium-sized ski area with 8 ski lifts, 15 runs and a 5 kilometer cross-country ski run.

Chez Armand Gite is rented by the week (Saturday to Saturday) during high season.
We will leave plenty of information on the region and good walks and bike rides in the region and are always on hand with more information should this be needed.
