Domaine du Crestet - Grenache

Domaine du Crestet is an old wine estate, situated 35 kilometres east of the river Rhône and three kilometres south of the Roman town Vaison la Romaine, known for its Roman amphitheatre and excavations, and Mont Ventoux.
It consists of four Provençal-style, nineteenth-century buildings around a central courtyard, recently renovated. The location is unique: in the middle of a green valley between vineyards with an unobstructed view in all directions, including the Mont Ventoux and the medieval village of Crestet. The village is within walking distance, as are the rocky beaches on the river Ouvèze. The restaurant La Loupiote, which offers excellent local menus at reasonable prices, is 100 metres away. 200m from the Domaine you will find the bakery (boulangerie artisanale) with fresh croissants every morning. The slightly more luxurious restaurant l'Epicurien is 900m away.

In three of the buildings are six stylish holiday homes (for 4 persons: Grenache, Syrah, for 5 persons: Cinsault and Olivier and for 8 persons: Murier and Viognier) offering guests a high level of luxury in an authentic Provencal setting.

All houses have a private entrance with a spacious private terrace with bbq, sunshade, dining table and sun loungers, garden facing south or west with views of Crestet, the vineyard and Mont Ventoux. The houses are equipped with: satellite TV, DVD, Radio/CD-player, washing machine, dryer, dishwasher, oven/microwave/grill, very complete kitchen equipment, excellent beds, WIFI, pergola, parasol, bbq etc. There is central heating in all houses and a fireplace or woodstove (free firewood available) (except Cinsault). Olivier is wheelchair accessible.

Grenache (4):
This house is representative for the other three 4/5 person houses (Syrah, Cinsault and Olivier with some small differences). The rental prices are the same.
The house is situated on the outside of the Domaine and has on the ground floor a cosy living/dining room with fireplace, a kitchen and a toilet. On the first floor are two bedrooms (both with own shower and washbasin), one with a double bed and one with two single beds. There is also a second toilet. Outside there is a spacious terrace and garden with views of Crestet and the vineyards.

Wine excursion, swimming pool, tennis, walking, cycling:
A spacious swimming pool (12x7m plus 3x3m) with sun loungers on the property surrounded by lavender and vines, a boule court, playing field and a tennis court within walking distance offer the necessary relaxation. In the immediate vicinity are extensive hiking and biking possibilities: Dentelles de Montmirail, Mont Ventoux, valley of the Toulourenc. You can also walk directly from the Domaine into the vineyard or hike or bike the surrounding hills both on the road and on the many paths with your mountain bike. We are happy to advise you on the many routes we have travelled ourselves.

Our grapes go to Cave La Romaine in Vaison who make a delicious rosé AOC Côte du Ventoux, which is ready for you when you arrive. In September you can pick the grapes for your own table. We will provide you with an extensive list of domaines to visit.
On the grounds there is a large parking lot and you will find the typical Provencal vegetation: lavender, olive and fig trees, rosemary, thyme, palm, bamboo, yucca etc.

The domaine is less suitable for large groups. There is no central common room. A group can rent no more than 3 houses and consist of no more than 12 people.
