Domaine du Crestet - Murier

Domaine du Crestet is an old wine estate, located 35 kilometres east of the River Rhône and three kilometres south of the Roman town of Vaison la Romaine, famous for its amphitheatre and excavations.

It consists of four Provençal-style, nineteenth-century buildings around a central courtyard, recently renovated. The location is unique: in the middle of a green valley among vineyards with an unobstructed view in all directions, including the Mont Ventoux and the medieval village of Crestet. The village is within walking distance, as are the rocky beaches on the river Ouvèze. Seventy metres away is the restaurant La Loupiote, which offers excellent local menus at reasonable prices. 200m from the Domaine you will find the bakery (boulangerie artisanale) with fresh croissants every morning. The slightly more luxurious restaurant l'Epicurien is 900m away.

In three of the buildings are six stylish holiday homes (for 4-5 persons: Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault and Olivier and for 8 persons: Murier and Viognier) have been created, offering guests a high level of luxury in an authentic Provençal setting.
The Murier house has all rooms at ground floor level, i.e. a maximum of 4 steps between the various rooms. There is a spacious living room with a large fireplace, a separate dining kitchen, 3 bedrooms (one with a double bed, one with two single beds and one large one with two single beds and a bunk bed), toilet, bathroom with bathtub/shower and second toilet en suite in the master bedroom. In one bedroom there is a mezzanine, where 1 extra sleeping place is possible. All rooms have high beamed ceilings. The single beds can be joined together. Outside there is a spacious terrace with garden overlooking Crestet, the vineyard and Mont Ventoux.

Murier has its own entrance, parking (2 cars), spacious private terrace with bbq on the south, 2nd terrace on the west, sun protection, shade tree, dining table and loungers, garden on the south and west with views on Crestet, the vineyard and the Mont Ventoux. The house is equipped with: satellite TV, DVD, Radio/CD player, washing machine, dryer, dishwasher, oven/microwave/grill, very complete kitchen equipment, excellent beds, WIFI, parasol, bbq etc. There is central heating in the houses and the fireplace (free firewood available).

Wine excursion, swimming pool, tennis, walking, cycling:

A large swimming pool (12x7m plus 3x3m) with sun loungers in the grounds surrounded by lavender and vines, a boule court and playing field, and a tennis court within walking distance offer the necessary relaxation. In the immediate vicinity are extensive hiking and biking possibilities: Dentelles de Montmirail, Mont Ventoux, valley of the Toulourenc. You can also walk directly from the Domaine into the vineyard or hike or bike the surrounding hills both on the road and on the many paths with your mountain bike.
You can also take part in a wine buying excursion on request (spring and autumn).
Our grapes go to Cave La Romaine in Vaison who produce among others a delicious rosé AOC Côte du Ventoux. In September you can pick the grapes for your own table.
On the grounds there is a large parking lot and you will find the typical Provencal vegetation: lavender, olive and fig trees, rosemary, thyme, palm, bamboo, yucca etc.

The domaine is less suitable for large groups. There is no central common room. A group can rent no more than 3 houses and consist of no more than 12 people.
