The house
For rent is half of a detached Provencal house from the 80s, all ground floor, about 95 m2. The other half is occupied by the owner whereby a maximum of privacy is guaranteed.
Layout:
Bedroom 1 (18 m2) : 1 double bed (200/180) and 1 single bed (200/90).
Bedroom 2 (14 m2) : 2 single beds (200/90), joined together which can be separated.
Living room (30 m2) with sitting area, fireplace (insert), dining area, TV (including Dutch channels), DVD.
Dining kitchen: 17.5 m2, large refrigerator with freezer, oven, microwave, dishwasher, coffee machine (choice: Nespresso, Senseo or old-fashioned filter machine) and many extras (see inventory).
Bathroom: with bath/shower (in bath), double wash basin, washing machine.
Separate toilet.
In addition to a cot with bedding and a highchair, a playpen and buggy are available (and a rocking horse).
In front of the living area is a tiled terrace of about 30 m by 3.50 m, partly covered with a dining table, next to it is a barbecue (see photo). Plus 4000 m2 of land that is available 24 hours a day.
In addition, as sole user, from 10.00 to 19.00 you have access to a separate and completely walled garden (about 20 by 20 m) with swimming pool (9 by 4.5 m), terrace and a covered pool house of 30 m2 (garden furniture sufficiently present). The pool has a movable roof so that often in April at a pleasant temperature can be swum. The same goes for the autumn to mid-October.

The property is located on a plot of 5000 m2 (fully fenced with an electric gate) on the outskirts of a village in the Vaucluse at about 10 km from the foot of the Mont Ventoux. In the village are several shops such as 3 bakers and 2 supermarkets, the local greengrocer and butcher, an optician, several restaurants, 2 pharmacies, several doctors and physiotherapists (including a Dutch one), several hairdressers and (hopefully not necessary) a Peugeot-, a Renault- and a Citroën garage.
The house is situated at the edge of the village Mazan, on the D1, the main road from Mazan / Pernes-les-Fontaines; there is traffic on the D1 especially during rush hours.
From the property you have a beautiful view across the road over the vineyards, the Mont Ventoux and the Dentelles de Montmirail. You only have to cross the road and then there are plenty of walks.

Wij zijn net terug van een heerlijke week vakantie samen met onze avontuurlijke Shiba Inu. Hele fijne locatie voor mens en dier. Honden kunnen en mogen met een gerust hart vrij rondlopen. Huisje is heel compleet en netjes. Scheelt veel gedoe met spullen zoals linnengoed en handdoeken. Leuke omgeving. De gastvrouw Machteld is ontzettend vriendelijk en heeft leuke tips!

Weer thuis na een fantastisch verblijf in vakantiehuis 'Aritimi' in Mazan (Vaucluse). We komen hier sinds 2014 ieder jaar (soms 2x!). Aritimi is een comfortabel huis met een zeer complete keuken en buiten een grote bbq. Heb je geen zin om te koken, in Mazan en andere nabije dorpjes struikel je over de goede restaurants. De fraaie moerbeiboom op het terras biedt voldoende schaduw om op zonnige dagen (en die zijn er veel) buiten te blijven. Diverse zitjes, ligbedden, een zwembad, ja zelfs een roeimachine zijn aanwezig. Heb je een hond en/of fiets je graag? Dit huis is dan ideaal: honden zijn er meer dan welkom (het gehele terrein is ommuurd) en fietsers zitten in een van de mooiste gebieden van Frankrijk, met de Mont Ventoux op 10km afstand en natuurlijk ook de prachtige lavendelvelden rondom Sault en diverse gorges (kloven) in de Vaucluse, Luberon, Drôme etc. Dagje naar Nice of Aix en Provence? Eigenaresse Machteld past graag op je hond. Zij haalt ook desgewenst verse croissants in de ochtend! Het huis biedt veel privacy. Kortom: dit is een vakantiehuis zoals je je een vakantiehuis wenst!

Een kleine opmerking wat betreft het terrein : zwembadgedeelte is geheel ommuurd - de rest van het terrein geheel omheind met ofwel muur van 2 meter ofwel een hek (1.50 meter) met een heg er voor die hoger dan het hek is.

Wat een geweldige plek om vakantie te vieren. Wij zijn hier sinds 2015 al 4 keer geweest en het is altijd weer een feest. Wij noemen het het paradijs, want aan alles is gedacht en Machteld is een geweldige gastvrouw die er alles voor over heeft om het ons naar onze zin te maken. Ook onze twee honden kunnen de hele dag in de volledige omheinde tuin van meer dan 5000 m2 hun gang gaan. Ook de omgeving is prachtig en alle faciliteiten, zoals winkels en restaurants, zijn binnen handbereik.
Helaas konden we dit voorjaar niet komen maar zodra het weer mogelijk is, gaan we weer snel die kant op.
Al met al kunnen wij niet anders dan de maximale score geven.
Restaurants, food & wine
In Mazan there are several restaurants; in a circle of 15 kilometres many possibilities, with a very good quality. Suggestions available.
The markets of Carpentras and Bedoin are well known in the region. In addition, a visit to the fruit and vegetable market in Velleron (about 20 minutes drive away) with local producers at the end of the day (in season 18.00 to 20.00) is very worthwhile. In the villages in the immediate vicinity, these kinds of markets are becoming more and more popular.
Since a few years the quality of the Ventoux-wine has improved considerably and a number of suggestions for tasting (and buying !) are given. If necessary, we can organise a tasting tour.
Activities
Mazan is centrally located for many excursions, for walking or visiting beautiful cities nearby, or for wine tasting.
It is an area that is mainly focused on cycling, walking and sunbathing. In addition, a visit to Avignon with its Palais des Papes, Aix-en-Provence and the residences of Vincent van Gogh (Arles, St. Rémy-de-Provence) are recommended. Marseille is at about one hour by car.
Numerous possibilities for walking and cycling (suggestions abound).
Walking, cycling or a ride in the car in the Gorge de la Nesque - but in the middle of summer it can be very hot, so an early start is recommended especially for walking.
Seeing the sunrise on the top of the Mont Ventoux (1910) meter is an experience but bring warm clothes and/or a blanket because even in summer it can be very chilly.
For cyclists, the Mont Ventoux is the main attraction but there are many other routes, which are also suitable for less experienced and less busy in the summer.
A riding school is about 100 metres from the house and there are several centres in the area where horses can be hired.
In the vicinity is the Splash Aqua Center, with many opportunities with high slides, etc. - fun but very expensive!
By canoeing down the Sorgue is a must.
A few kilometres away is a well-organised tree-climbing park with routes of varying difficulty.
There are two golf courses at 20 to 30 kilometres (Avignon and Isle-sur-la-Sorgue).

Further remarks
Holiday with your dog(s).
The property is ideal for people who want to go on holiday with their dogs. The whole area is fenced and dogs are welcome all over the place. Food bowls, baskets, cushions and (possibly) benches (sizes on request) are available. If you wish I can provide fresh meat (freezer available) or possibly arrange for your kibble to be delivered here, which saves space in the car.
I can also give you information about what is sensible to do in terms of prevention for your dogs' health in this area.
I myself have six dogs (four Vizsla's and two shelter dogs), who sit in their own area, completely separated from the terrain of the tenants. They are extremely social dogs (references on request !) - and as said, they are separate and are inside in the summer, dogs are sensible. So they do not cause any inconvenience to you as a tenant, nor to your dogs.
There is no charge for the dogs, but there is a collection box for voluntary contributions that will be passed on to a charity that cares for the welfare of animals, dogs in particular.

Cleaning fee (compulsory) : Euro 100.00, payable in cash on site. Tourist tax to be paid by the landlord.
Pets (one or more) are welcome. Dogs come free of charge. However, there is a box for contributions to a good dog cause.
For more than two dogs, please consult us, but the more the merrier!
There is a bread service: if you indicate the evening before what you would like for your breakfast, baguette, croissants, pains au chocolat, it will be ready for you the next morning from 7.15 am. (Settlement at the end of your stay).
In the cold months, a contribution to heating costs is requested - depending on weather conditions. There is a fireplace and the wood for this is included in the price (for normal use - a quantity will be provided to you).
