The house
La Garussière is a detached new house on the outskirts of a beautiful old hamlet with a large terrace with stunning views of the Luberon. The house itself and the immediate surroundings are extremely attractive to those who love the outdoors. The house of 140m2 is simply but tastefully furnished with two double bedrooms, each with its own toilet/bathroom. Connected to one of the bedrooms is a spacious bathroom/toilet with a number of wheelchair facilities. The second bathroom has two washbasins, a bathtub and a shower. There is a third toilet in the hallway. The kitchen is fully equipped with electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge, coffee machine, etc. Next to the kitchen is a utility room with a washing machine. The large living-/dining room, which is connected to the kitchen, opens onto a large wooden terrace with a view of a beautiful Provençal landscape. The terrace is equipped with a dining table, chairs and a sun lounger.
Wifi is available and a DVD player is available for movie lovers plus a CD player. No pets allowed.

The surrounding landscape invites the nature lover to walk or cycle directly from the house. In the vicinity are beautiful old picturesque villages. The small characteristic villages in the area offer many opportunities for your own 'discoveries' in this beautiful region. The historical cities of Avignon, Orange and Aix-en-Provence are also within easy driving distance.

La Garussiere is situated on the edge of the picturesque old Provencal hamlet of Les Cordiers. This newly built, semi-detached house, built on a plot of 2250 m2, has a magnificent view of vineyards, orchards and, in the distance, the Luberon mountains. In the vicinity, directly from the house, there are numerous hiking trails. Most of these are in the nearby nature reserves of the Vauclause. Information about some of these routes can be found in the house.
The medieval village of St. Saturnin les Apt is 4 km away. By car, bicycle or on foot you can do your shopping here at the local boulanger, butcher, and 'supermarche'. In St. Saturnin is also a beautiful 'piscine municipal' which is the beating heart of the village during the summer months.
For extensive shopping you can go to Apt, a medium sized old market town that is easily accessible at 6 km. Both a large outdoor Saturday market and a number of large supermarkets leave nothing to be desired when it comes to food shopping. Especially the Saturday market is a must for those who want to discover and taste the local products.
Within 30 km there are a number of beautiful old villages, each with their own distinctive character and history - Bonnieux, Lacoste, Menerbes, Gordes, Roussillon - to name but a few.
All of this in the fertile Luberon valley, with its olive groves
vineyards, fruit trees, and lavender. Within easy driving distance, one can visit the famous historical cities of Avignon, Aix-en-Provence, Orange, Arles, etc. for day trips. In these cities, especially during the summer months, many cultural events are organised.
The Mediterranean Sea can be reached within an hour and a half.

We hebben met veel plezier een week in La Garussière doorgebracht. Het is een zeer ruim huis op een mooie en rustige plek met een prachtig uitzicht. Alle voorzieningen waren aanwezig voor een prettig verblijf. De eigenaar geeft goede en duidelijke informatie.
Restaurants, food & wine
Apart from its natural beauty, the Luberon is also known for its wines and you can find many tastings. Think of: Chateau La Canorgue, Vignobles Aureto. Chateau de La Garelle, Chateau Les Eydins to name a few.
Culinary Provence is known for its luxury restaurants, but also for a more everyday rustic meal, there is plenty to find locally. Out of season, fewer restaurants are open, but there is still plenty to choose from.
Activities
In the surroundings of holiday home La Garussière there is a lot to discover for walkers and cyclists: directly from the house but also in the wide surroundings they can start their tour through the lovely soft sloping landscape. The national park of the "Luberon" is well worth a visit. There are good maps and well-marked routes in the house for those who want them. Mountain bikers can also enjoy themselves in the vicinity.
Swimming: there is a beautiful public swimming pool in the nearby village of St. Saturnin-les-Apt.
Excursion possibilities: the many picturesque old Roman villages, cities like Avignon, Arles, Nimes and Aix-en-Provence, musical summer festivals, atmospheric village markets where lovers can often buy organic products.

Mid-May to mid-September € 675.00 per week

Bring your own towels and sheets (1.40 x 2 m).
Deposit € 300 ( refunded in case of no damage).
Cleaning : the house must be left as it was at the beginning. If not, cleaning costs will be deducted from the deposit.
