The house
Description of dwelling.
The house was built in 2006 and is situated on approximately 2300 m² of land. Around the house is a beautiful Provencal style garden with swimming pool (5 x 10 mtr. with pool house) and a jeu de boules court. From the terrace of the house you have a beautiful view to the Luberon mountains and Les Alpilles. Next to the house is the auvent. (outside dining room). In the garden are several seats created.
The house has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. On the ground floor there is the living room (approx. 30 m²) with door to the courtyard, toilet, complete kitchen and master bedroom with shower room. The bedrooms are spacious and have standard 2 beds per room. The first floor has 3 bedrooms, a toilet room and a spacious bathroom. There is also a loggia on the first floor. In the evenings it is good to stay here with a glass of rose. From here you have a fantastic panoramic view of the surroundings. On the veranda in front of the house are 2 wooden dining tables, 12 chairs, gas-bbq and microwave. Around the pool are 8 sunbeds. In the garage there are 4 mountain bikes and 2 children's bikes. In the garden behind the house there is a trampoline, 2 swings and a rope ladder for the little ones.

Surroundings
In the house there is an extensive booklet with about 40 daytrips. It is excellent to stay in the Provence. The Domaine is centrally located in one of the most beautiful (wine) regions of France, the Vaucluse. With cities that historically have a lot to offer such as Avignon and Orange at only half an hour's drive. Lísle sur la Sorgue, known for its more than 300 antique dealers and not to forget the big antique market on Sundays. Fontaine de Vaucluse at only 3 km. and famous for its source where the river Sorgue finds its origin. With almost 100,000 litres per second, this river roars from a cave in the direction of the village of L'isle sur la Sorgue. In the immediate vicinity of the domaine, you can find many nice restaurants.
Just south of the domaine is the Luberon region. The Luberon is known for its perche villages. These are villages that are 'glued' to the mountainside like an eagle's nest. Menerbes, Lacoste, Roussillon and Bonnieux are some of the colourful villages. Gordes, however, takes the crown when it comes to beauty and appearance.
The Luberon is also known for its delicious wines. You can taste delicious wines at local wine farmers.
To the north, about 25 km from the domaine, lies the famous mountain "le Mont Ventoux". It is called the geant of the Provence and this mountain has an enormous attraction to everything that rides a bicycle. Often, the Mont Ventoux is the scenery of a tough ride in the Tour de France.

Restaurants, food & wine
The Vaucluse and wide region is known for its wines. The region is a chain of vineyards. The wines of Chateauneuf du Pape, Luberon and Cotes du Rhone are among the top wines of France. At only a few kilometres from the domaine, you can find all kinds of nice restaurants in the surrounding villages. Among the top restaurants (Michelin stars) are Le Vivier and Jardin du Quai, both located in L'isle sur la Sorgue. Many restaurants and terraces are located on the water Le Sorgue.
The region has daily markets in various villages. In the house there is a comprehensive booklet with a list of all the markets and their villages. Worthwhile markets are: the Sunday markets in L'isle sur la Sorgue, Coustellet and the Friday market in Lourmarin. Every evening from 18.00-20.00 there is a regional market in Velleron. Here only local products are marketed. Nice to see.
Just above Carpentras is a wine domain (Domaine de Marotte) which is managed by a Dutch couple. Here you can get a guided tour and picnic between the vineyards.
Activities
Activities, nature lovers
There is no shortage of activities in and around the domaine. At 2 km. from the house, there is a climbing paradise (for children and adults!). From here you can also rent canoes for an exciting canoe trip on the river La Sorgue. At about 22 km you will find the spectacular water amusement park Splashworld in Monteux.
Walkers are well catered for. From the house you can walk straight into the woods. Everywhere in the area are marked hiking trails. In the house there are many extensive hiking maps. A must is a hike to Fontaine de Vaucluse with its famous source. At less than 1 km. you will find an 18-hole golf course. At the park there are 2 tennis courts
Eldorado for cyclists
The Vaucluse is a true Eldorado for cycling enthusiasts. Cyclists, mountain bikers or just touring cyclists for each target group are excellent trips to make. In the house you will find a special cycling book with tours for cyclists varying from 40 to 140 km. The book contains maps and "profils de Montagne" so you know what you can expect on the road. The Vaucluse has completely flat parts (south and west of L' isle sur la Sorgue), medium mountains up to 600 mtr. (Luberon valley, Ventoux valley and Monts de Vaucluse) and high mountains (Monts Ventoux and Hauts Vaucluse). All tours are full of beautiful vineyards interspersed with medieval villages with lovely terraces. In the garage of the house are 4 mountain bikes and 2 children's bikes.
Marked out ATB routes can be found in the villages Pernes les Fontaine, Sarrians and nature reserve les Dentelles de Montmirail. You can also ride from the house directly into the forest and be surprised by what you find.

The domaine is run by a Dutch couple. The domaine has a general swimming pool (9 x 18 m), a paddling pool, tennis courts and a jeu de boules court. From May to September, fresh bread is available at the reception.
