The house
This semi-detached gîte with wide views is part of an authentic farmhouse, located on the outskirts of the village of Sainte-Colombe-En-Auxois. There are barns between the gîte and the main building, so there is plenty of privacy in and around the house. One can sit outside in front, beside (large south-facing terrace on one side and a covered terrace on the other) and also behind the house; so plenty of space.
The gîte itself has a surface area of over 55 m². Besides the living room (with wood-burning stove and central heating) with spacious corner kitchen, there is a bedroom and a bathroom with shower and WC. There is also a lovely semi-open, covered garden room with beautiful views over the hills. The house also has a TV (20 channels), DVD player with a wide choice of films and wireless internet (fibre optic / WiFi).

Sainte-Colombe-En-Auxois is situated in the hills of the Cote d'Or (Burgundy) at 7,5 hours driving from Utrecht. The cottage itself is situated at an altitude of over 400 metres on a hill. From the front of the house and the terrace (south facing), you have a great view over the village and the hills and valleys of the "Auxois". The garden (with a.o. fruit trees) behind the house is a few thousand square metres and provides a lot of privacy. The village itself has 50 inhabitants and is very picturesque with a castle, church and "lavoir". From Sainte Colombe there are many possibilities to go out by foot, by bike or by car. In front of the house there is the famous walking route of Julius Ceasar (Alésia/Bibracte). Sainte Colombe does not have any shops. Larger supermarkets and other shops can be found 10 kilometres away. However, there is a goat farm in the village where you can buy delicious goat's cheese.

Opnieuw hebben we een hele fijne week gehad in jullie sfeervolle gîte op deze prachtige plek.
Genoten van de kleine dingen: het gezinnetje in het vogelnestje met hun plichtsgetrouwe moeder, de hagedisjes, het stokbrood en het inmiddels zo vertrouwde landschap.

Wij hebben een fantastische vakantie week gehad. Een mooi en compleet huisje. De omgeving geweldig. Een aardige en behulpzame gastheer en gastvrouw. Wij hebben daar veel gewandeld en een paar plaatsjes bezocht. Heerlijk rustig om daar te genieten van het dorpje, de tuin rondom het huisje en een heerlijk terras om een goed te lezen, wat we ook gedaan hebben. Deze week gaan we nog eens overdoen daar in st. Colombe.

Wij hebben een heerlijke week gehad op deze mooie plek.
In een zeer rustige omgeving konden we genieten van het wijdse uitzicht vanaf ons (overdekte) terras.
In onze gite was alles aanwezig voor het bereiden van een maaltijd: olie, kruiden enz. Ook afwasmiddel was aanwezig.
We hebben ‘s avonds ook gebruik gemaakt van de houtkachel...heerlijk!
Van hieruit kon je mooie wandelingen maken en ook fietsen is mogelijk.
Kortom: een fantastische plek met een hartelijke gastheer en gastvrouw!
Restaurants, food & wine
Twelve kilometres from Sainte Colombe there is a wine farm to visit: Vignoble de Flavigny. The wine region between Dijon and Beaune is also very good for a day trip. There are also several good restaurants in the immediate vicinity.
Activities
Apart from the many possibilities for walking, it is also possible to take a (sporty) bike and go for a ride in the hilly surroundings. The surroundings are hilly, but cycling is generally very well done. Also for mountain-bikers there are plenty of possibilities. In the vicinity of Sainte Colombe there are several swimming pools and lakes for swimming. Furthermore, there are numerous places in the vicinity that are well worth a visit.

Further remarks
"La Petite Colombe" is an excellent place to enjoy the peace and nature around you and also an excellent base for walks, cycling trips and visiting the many sights in the area.
