The house
Beautiful 19th-century detached house in the heart of Burgundy, on the edge of the Morvan. Very quiet location, no/very little traffic.
Spacious living room with fireplace and characteristic French wooden beamed ceiling.
Four spacious bedrooms, spacious bathroom with bath and separate shower, kitchen with dishwasher, oven/microwave.
Terrace at the back, large garage.
We have decorated the house with a nod to the style of yesteryear, atmospheric and cosy.
Energy: energy costs are calculated on the basis of the starting and ending readings on the gas meter.

The house is located in the hamlet of Velleneuve (still 5 inhabitants....), 8 km from Arnay-Le-Duc. It is a wooded and hilly area (Bois du Grand Bessay), where there is little or no traffic. Velleneuve has no shops, for that Arnay-Le-Duc is the best choice.
Here you will find peace, quiet and nature with extensive walking and cycling possibilities. A wonderful place to relax and enjoy what the beautiful surroundings have to offer.

Restaurants, food & wine
The Burgundy is of course ideally suited for trips to the beautiful wine regions. Around Beaune (35 km) starts the Route des Grand Cru and that is enjoy all the beautiful chateaux and here and there some tasting of course (think of the Bob...)
Wonderful restaurants and shops in Beaune, exclusive weekly market with regional products.
Every day there is a "marche" in a village nearby. Consult the tourist office in Autun.
Activities
- At Arnay Le Duc there is a recreational lake (8 km). A little further in the Morvan is Lac de Pannesiere and Lac des Settons.
- In Autun is the Lac Du Verron, a recreational lake with sailing possibilities, swimming and pedalos.
- The Castle of Sully is worth a visit, both for adults and children.
- Beautiful horseback riding through the Morvan, hiking from village to village, markets almost every day, there is a lot to do in the Borgogne.
- And of course the Route des Grand Cru, along all the wineries / chateaux of the famous Burgundy wines!
- In Barnay (approx. 7 km) the snail farm which was featured in Ilja Gort's programme on 4 April 2016. Guided tours possible from 5/6 people with interpreter.
- Climbing and climbing forest Acrogivry (approx 50km) a beautiful setting and both easy and difficult slopes

Linen and towels: 15 euro PER ROOM; can therefore deviate from the mentioned amounts!
Low season: October-May (in low season the actual energy consumed (butagas) will be calculated via the gas meter;
all rooms are centrally heated and there is wood for the fireplace)
Half season: June, September
High season: July, August
NOTE: Are you with more than 8 people? We can accommodate up to 10 people; you will then rent a second house ("La Renardière") for 2/3 people at 50 metres from "Relais de Chasse". Even if you are less than 10 people and you still want to rent "La Renardière", you can do so for eur 250 p.wk. Also here is it possible to rent bed linen and towels (eur 15)
