The house
Gîte L'espace is located in an old rustic (former) farmhouse and is also a chambres d'hôtes (the rooms of the chambres d'hôtes are occasionally rented out).
The gîte is suitable for 2 persons and is located next to our house. It has a surface area of over 50 m2 and has its own entrance.
Ground floor:
Spacious living kitchen with a century-old fireplace with wood-burning stove. There is central heating throughout the gîte. This makes it great to stay here in autumn or winter. The living kitchen is fully equipped (including: 4 burner hob, dishwasher, fridge-freezer, coffee machine, kettle, hand blender, blender, juicer and an oven). Part of the living kitchen has a cosy seating area with television. There is optical fibre with free use of WiFi.
Spacious double bedroom with 2 x single box spring (0.90 x 200 with double topper). Adjacent bathroom with toilet, washbasin and shower.
Outside:
A spacious private terrace is available at the gîte and behind the gîte a beautiful area of 3 hectares, equipped with swimming pool, hammocks, loungers and many quiet spots.
Also available: bed linen, towels and kitchen linen. These are included in the price.
A washing machine and dryer can be used in the owner's house. We charge a fee for this.
Although we welcome pets, they cannot stay at L'espace.

Gîte L'espace is located in an old rustic (former) farmhouse in the beautiful village of Bousseraucourt, a municipality in the French Haute-Saône department (region Bourgogne - Franche-Comté). The village has 50 inhabitants. Bousseraucourt is situated amidst sloping meadows and forests at an altitude varying between 300 and 400 metres.
Our cottage is situated at the end of the village. From the gîte, walking trails lead through the fields and woods.
The villages in the Haute Saône are situated between the, mostly, deciduous forests and intensively used pastures. There is a benevolent peace in this area. Many small underground rivers flow through this area. In many places, these rise as springs, providing water to fountains and characteristic public wash-houses. Sometimes several in a village. You will come across these fountains and washing places in countless villages.
This French rural region offers you a sloping hilly landscape with vast meadows and many forests, where the French villagers are characterised by simplicity and cordiality. In this originally rural region, nature plays a major role in daily life. This is expressed in various activities, such as keeping a vegetable garden and an orchard, heating eau de vie, cutting wood, fishing, hunting, walking, horse riding, etc.

Het was fantastisch !!
Bijna niet in woorden uit te leggen......
Birgit en John hebben een klein paradijsje daar en zijn super attent!
De gîte , zo authentiek en toch met alle moderne gemakken.
Zo compleet , zo schoon, een heerlijk bed.
Privé terras, een verkoelend zwembad, een grote tuin met vele leuke plekjes.
De rust en de ruimte op het Franse platteland.
De dorpjes , de uitzichten.
Heerlijk om veel te fietsen , met elektrische ondersteuning is het goed te doen.
Het voelt ook veilig, , er is weinig verkeer.
Dat hebben we vrijwel elke dag ook gedaan.
Met hulp van John waren er vele mooie routes te vinden.
Birgit als gastvrouw altijd meedenkend en hulpvaardig.
Gewoon doen {!} zou ik zeggen, zeker als je van fietsen (en wandelen} en rust houdt.
Misschien toch een nadeel...er is geen bakker in de buurt, en dat vonden wij best een beetje jammer.Comment from Birgit Ritten

We onderschrijven de hierboven genoemde positieve recensies over de geweldige gîte, de omgeving, de rust, de verse broodjes, de mooie wandel- en fietsroutes, de ruimte en John en Birgit. Het was voor ons een heerlijke week. In de prachtige glooiende, landelijke omgeving gewandeld en gefietst (zonder ondersteuning;-) en genoten. Het zwembad was een kers op de taart na een paar uur (ontspannen) inspanning.
Donker is in Bousseraucourt echt donker en stil is echt stil. Wat fijn. Je begrijpt wat de vogels tjilpen en de ezels balken (wij willen wortels). Kortom SUPER! Grtjs.

Wat ‘n heerlijke gite. Alles is super schoon met ‘n heerlijk bed en ‘n prachtig zwembad met ‘n mooie tuin waar je tot rust komt en kunt genieten.

Restaurants, food & wine
You have the option of cooking your own meals in the gîte.
During your stay in the gîte, you can use the barbecue. There are a number of restaurants in the area.
Feel free to use the herbs from our herb garden.
A supermarket and fresh bakery are 8 km away by car.
There are pleasant weekly markets in our region. A list of these is on site as well as the addresses of several cheese dairies and Domaine de vin.
Activities
The gîte is surrounded by 3 hectares of grounds. Enjoy the lovely swimming pool or laze around on one of the spots with beautiful views. (sunbeds and hammocks available) Gîte L'espace offers the opportunity to enjoy peace and quiet. The area is great for hiking and cycling.
Visit the many small villages with their characteristic church towers covered with beautiful colourful glazed tiles. Every week there are flea markets and the small markets are also worth a visit. Interesting towns nearby are Ronchamp with its famous church by Corbusier, The beautiful fortified town of Langres, Vesoul, Dijon and Besançon.
Since 2015, we have been certified with the label Vélo Bienvenue. This label will change in 2019 to ACCUEIL VÉLO, France's national cycling label. https://www.francevelotourisme.com/

Our gîte has qualified for "le classement meublé de tourisme" with 3 stars since 2012.
The gîte is part of Chambre d´hôtes L´espace. In addition to the gîte, we rent out two beautiful guest rooms, chambre Brasserie and chambre Jardin, classified with the Qualité de Tourisme label in 2019. We rent out the rooms occasionally.
Since 2015, our location has had the label "Vélo Bienvenue Haute Saône" with a large number of marked cycling routes. This label will change to ACCUEIL VÉLO, France's national cycling label, in 2019.
Hiking trails, cycling routes and other leaflets are plentiful.
Prices include: bed linen, towels, electricity, water, gas, final cleaning and wood for the stove. When renting for two or more weeks, we provide an intermediate cleaning. (surcharge for winter period, see rates)

The gîte is suitable for a maximum of 2 people.
The price of the gîte based on 2 persons depends on the period 595.00 euros per week / 630.00 euros per week.
The price of the gîte based on 2 persons is, depending on the period, 85 euros per night / 90 euros.
Prices include: bed linen, towels, electricity, water, gas, final cleaning and wood for the stove. When renting for a fortnight, we provide an intermediate cleaning.
Prices do not include taxe de séjour. (tourist tax)
In winter there is a surcharge for gas heating and wood for the stove.
There is a charge for charging the electric car.
