The house
Unlike many French houses, the house is large, bright and spacious. You also have access to a garden, a large play barn and a garage. All this offers plenty of comfort and entertainment to make your stay carefree and pleasant. The house is very suitable for family holidays with enough space for three generations, for two families with children, or for groups for sporty walking or cycling holidays. The house is located in a quiet area, right on the lake, Lac de Pannecière: through our meadow you can walk to the lake to our private (rocky) beach.
- The ground floor of the house consists of a cosy and spacious living room with a corner sofa and armchairs, a TV room, a kitchen and a dining room.
- The bookcase offers plenty of choice for lovers of reading; there is also extensive information on the area.
- The patio doors in the living room give access to the terrace, which has a dining table and chairs. Here you have a magnificent view of the valley and the hills of the Morvan.
- There is a dining room with a large dining table with ten chairs.
- The TV and games room has a nice lazy sofa. There is a 100 cm flat screen TV with Dutch satellite reception (You will receive all Dutch channels, Eurosport etc, French, German and English channels). There is also a DVD player, a CD player, a radio and a cassette recorder. There is a wide selection of films, DVDs, games and books available. If required, this room can be closed off so you can read or talk undisturbed in the sitting room.
- The kitchen has a fridge, dishwasher, microwave, oven, electric cooker. Furthermore, a Braun coffee filter and a Nespresso machine.
- Downstairs is a bathroom with a shower, a small sink and a toilet.
- Upstairs are 6 bedrooms, 4 of them with double beds (2 rooms each with 2 mattresses 90x210; 2 rooms each with 2 mattresses v90x200) with comfortable box-spring mattresses, and 2 bedrooms with a single bed (90x200) and a cot. There is a wardrobe in each bedroom. There are also children's beds, cots (with bars) and a playpen.
- Upstairs is also a second bathroom with a bathtub containing a shower, a sink and a toilet.
- In the basement there is a washing machine, dryer, ironing board and iron at your disposal.
- There is Wifi in and around the house.
- Right next to the house is a cosy smaller garden with a picnic table for 10 people and a built-in barbecue. There is a swing for the little ones.
- Furthermore, there are plenty of dining tables and chairs which you can place wherever it suits you.
- You also have access to the play barn, which contains a table tennis table, table football, darts, a large TV screen with DVD player and a couple of bicycles. There are also the oars for the large Canadian canoe or the surfboard.
* There is a trampoline and, for the little ones, a playhouse with swing and slide.
- The play barn has a large fridge/freezer, an extra fridge and a freezer.
- There is ample parking space for four cars, both in the garage and on the courtyard.
The house and barn are well shielded from the - otherwise very quiet - road with fences, so your children can play safely outside.

The house is situated in the middle of a nature reserve. From the terrace at the back you have a breathtaking view over the hills of the Morvan and on the lake (and view of the children in the playhouse, swing and trampoline). The backyard and our meadow border on the lake of Pannecière. The house has its own beach at this super-clean lake. It is wonderfully quiet, only small boats belonging to hobby fishermen are allowed, so there is no noise from boats or jet-skis. It is a wonderful place to swim, canoe or fish for you and your children.
The Morvan is a nature reserve, the lake is protected (no motorboats allowed), the air is clean. The hilly landscape consists for a large part of small-scale meadows with wooded banks and loose groups of trees or shrubs, dense deciduous and coniferous forests, lakes, fens and slowly flowing and roaring streams and rivers. Here, you will find no industry, no big cities and no four-lane roads. The area is suitable for lovers of sports, nature and tranquillity. The Morvan offers plenty of opportunities to go out into nature, whether it is just walking, bird-watching, enjoying the flora, amphibians, mosses, mushrooms or stars. Every season has its charm.
Chaumard, a 5-minute walk away, is a quiet village where cyclists and walkers like to take a rest at the Auberge. The church of St. Pierre dates from the 12th century.
In Chaumard there is an auberge where you can buy bread and have a drink in the evening sun. There is also a good crêperie. In the house is an information folder with more details about good food. In the village and at the sandy beach by the lake is a playground for the little ones and there are also a number of jeu-de-boules courts, which you can use.
Chateau-Chinon is a 10 minute drive away and has two good, large supermarkets and other good shops, cafes and restaurants.
For lovers of culture and history, the house is a good base. Nearby are beautiful villages and towns where art treasures of many centuries have been preserved. Vézelay, Avallon, Autun, Nevers, Auxerre and Beaune are well worth visiting. Furthermore, there are many cosy villages with markets and brocantes, such as Lormes, Corbigny, Brassy.

Restaurants, food & wine
The house is located in Burgundy. You can make day trips through the famous wine routes of Burgundy near Beaune and below Dijon such as the Route de Grands Crus and Route des Grand Vins.
The Loire region with its excellent white wines such as Pouilly and Sancerre is within easy reach.
The partly covered market in Autun (on Wednesday and Friday mornings) is a must, you will find many ecological farmers selling their products, meat, eggs, vegetables, bread and wine.
Closer by, at 8 km distance in Ouroux, the Cave Barbotte has a fine collection of wines that you can taste in their cellar. And don't miss the local fromage blanc, and the cream or butter: at the small Sunday market, the French stand in a long line, until it is sold out.
In the vicinity you will find a decent collection of good restaurants. In the house you will find an infomap with details.

Activities
In the garden there is a playhouse for children from 3 years, with a slide and swings. There is also a trampoline and a separate swing for the older children.
A spacious barn is at your disposal with a professional table tennis table, table football and games for the children. This room can also be used as a training room if desired. In this barn there is also a sitting area for the youngsters with DVD player. .
If you walk through our meadow, you will come to the lake. There, our large Canadian canoe is waiting for you.
In summer you can have a nice swim. It is a nature reserve and very quiet.
In the lake you can fish for trout, carp and catfish.
The sportsmen and nature lovers can choose directly from home for several beautiful walking and cycling routes. The Morvan is hilly, and you will need a few - we recommend more than three - gears for the cycle routes. There are easy and difficult routes, but they are all beautiful.

Additional price info and offers
* In the period 1 April to 1 September, the rent includes water and electricity. From September to May you pay heating costs (oil-fired central heating) of € 150 per week.
* You have to bring your own bed linen: the beds are 90x190 (two single rooms) 2x90x200 (two double rooms), and 2x90x210 (two double rooms). For each bed, use a mattress cover, a single duvet cover and a pillowcase.
* Drying cloths are provided in the kitchen.
* You should bring your own towels and beach or bath towels from home.
* A hairdryer, iron and ironing board, hoover and brooms are provided.
* Pets after consultation. For a pet we charge 25.00 euros per stay.
* At reservation you pay 25% of the rent. The remaining 75%, the cleaning costs and the deposit must be paid 6 weeks before the planned date of arrival.
* We ask a deposit of 100,- euro. If you leave everything tidy, you will get this back four weeks after the rental period.
* We rent this gite from Sunday to Sunday from late June to late August. The other months, other options are also negotiable.
* From November to April it is possible to rent the house for a longer period. Please enquire about the possibilities.

Een groot royaal huis van alle gemakken voorzien zoals: uitstekende bedden, een keuken waar alles is en een heerlijk terras met fantastisch uitzicht.
Rondom het huis veel ruimte en privacy en loopt zo vanuit de grote tuin naar het prachtige meer.
Voor de liefhebbers van natuur, sport, cultuur en culinair is er in de omgeving veel te doen.We hebben een heerlijke en zorgeloze vakantie gevierd in La Courcelle.
Een echte aanrader.

Een heerlijk en groot huis, veel ruimte binnen en buiten dus voor alle weersomstandigheden geschikt. Wij waren er in oktober dus hebben met de koudere dagen lekker de open haard aangehad (gezellig!) en met mooi weer op het terras gezeten. Hier zit je echt heel fijn, met prachtig uitzicht in het zonnetje. De koeien die het grasveld "maaien" zijn erg leuk, vooral de kindjes vonden dat erg gezellig. In de buurt een heleboel leuke plaatsjes om te bezoeken, op een uurtje afstand bv Autun, Nevers en Vezelay, allemaal de moeite waard. Kortom, een hele fijne plek die wij zeker aanraden!

In augustus 2017 hebben wij met twee gezinnen mogen genieten van het verblijf in het huis in La Courcelle. Genoten van de omgeving, huis en de tuin en het meer. Ook hebben wij een aantal keer de hengel uitgegooid, waarmee we maar liefst meer dan 150 karpers vingen! Een bijzondere vangst aangezien we maar telkens een paar uur per dag hebben gevist. Visvergunning hebben wij gehaald in het winkeltje voor vissers in Chaumard. Een goede onthakingsmat en schepnet zijn daar een pré,
