The house
Les Loizards is a former farm from the nineteenth century. In the former stable is a double gite classified with 4 stars, so fully equipped. From the gite you have a beautiful view of a meadow with the edge of the forest behind. As it is the last house on a cul-de-sac, there is virtually no traffic. You can hear the sounds of nature and at night you can see the stars because there are no street lamps. There is a vegetable garden, fruit trees and an apiary. The gite has its own entrance and a key box; with the code you can let yourself in. The gite is heated with a pellet stove. At Les Loizards lives Balloe, a border collie. Balloe is nice to everyone, including other dogs. In consultation, your pet is welcome on the ground floor, you make sure your dog does not walk up the stairs.

Heel fijn huisje. Het duurde even voordat het warm was, buiten vroor het, maar toen het eenmaal warm was was het heel comfortabel. Ondanks dat we niet het beste weer hadden, wat in december ook te verwachten is, hebben we ons prima vermaakt. Alles wat je nodig hebt is aanwezig in het huisje. Ook met onze hond was rekening gehouden, die heeft een toptijd gehad.
Misschien is het wel leuk als er wat meer info over de omgeving en bijvoorbeeld wandelroutes in de buurt is.
Tom is een fijne, toegankelijke gastheer. Hij heeft het prima voor elkaar op Les Loizards.

Dit huisje, een prachtig verbouwd gedeelte van een groter geheel, ligt op een zeer rustige plek midden in de natuur aan het eind van een weg vanaf een doorgaande weg door het plaatsje Chissey-en-Morvan. In het plaatsje is een kleine buurtwinkel. Vanuit hier is veel in de Morvan te bereiken, zoals de Abbay de Fontenay, Vezelay, Bibracte, Autun, Alėsia en Beaune. Het huisje is zeer comfortabel ingericht met een goede keuken, badkamer en zitgedeelte. De eigenaar woont in het andere gedeelte en is zeer gastvrij en behulpzaam. Restaurants, food & wine
There are restaurants nearby that Tom will be happy to refer you to. For bookings of a week or more, table d'hote is possible: Tom will then cook a vegetarian meal for you. Homemade honey, jam and liqueur are for sale. Depending on availability, fresh vegetables from the kitchen garden are available for a small fee.
Activities
You can go for lovely walks in the forest where Les Loizards is located. In the forest and meadows, you can see unusual flora and fauna. In the village is a small grocery shop with a terrace. The village lies between Autun and Saulieu, two cosy old towns with nice shops, terraces, supermarkets, and a weekly market. In Autun, you can visit several buildings from Roman times. You are not far from Bribacte, a large excavation of a Gallic city romanised by the Romans. Next to the excavations is an impressive museum explaining the site and beautiful objects excavated. The Morvan has several places where you can enjoy swimming or water sports. Tom is happy to inform you about local activities such as antique markets, brocante or local festivals with traditional music or folk dancing.

Your pet is welcome after consultation: your dog must be housebroken, not aggressive towards other people or animals and not bark excessively. Preferably, your dog will stay on the ground floor, but the dog will definitely not come on the bed.
