The house
Our gîte is located à la campagne, in the middle of meadows, at the end of a small country road with no traffic. Peace and space is what you can fully experience here. Officially classified with 2 stars, our gîte is suitable for up to 4 people. You enter the living room where you can sit in the comfortable armchairs by the wood-burning stove or on the sofa by the TV. The thick walls make it a nice cool room on hot days. When it is a bit cooler, the wood-burning stove and available plaids provide cosy warmth in no time. The many twilight lamps give a cosy atmosphere and good reading light in the evening. In a book or on the e-reader, because the cottage has a good internet connection (fibre optic). There is French (Orange) TV and if you have a subscription to, among other things, Netflix or an app from your television subscription, you can watch TV using our Chromecast. In the bookcase you will find various French and Dutch books and tourist information about the region. As well as booklets with cycling and walking routes.
Next to the living room is a bedroom with a double bed (180×200). Even on sunny days this room stays nice and cool.
The second bedroom on the first floor is accessible via an open staircase. The staircase has a child safety gate at the top and bottom. This bedroom has two single beds (90×200). We can place a baby cot and baby bath upon request.
All beds are made on arrival.
The kitchen next to the living room has doors to the terrace. In this fully equipped kitchen (oven, microwave, 4-ring induction hob, toaster, grill pan, fridge with freezer compartment) you will cook like at home. Set the dining table in the kitchen or on the terrace and enjoy a panoramic view. On request, we provide a high chair.
The bathroom with shower, washbasin and toilet can be accessed from the kitchen. Towels are provided.
The kitchen has patio doors leading to the terrace where you can eat outside and barbecue. Behind the cottage is a second terrace with lounge set with wide views over the hilly landscape, meadows and forest. This is the perfect place to experience the peace and quiet of the countryside. Deer can regularly be seen here, coming from the forest to graze in the meadows. Or the white Charolais cows that trudge past throughout the day.
In summer you can use the private pool and in spring and autumn there is a fire pit to light a fire outside. All depending on the season.

Our holiday cottage in France is located in a quiet spot, in hilly Burgundy amidst the meadows at the end of a small country road with no traffic. There are several seating areas where you can enjoy a wide view over the hilly landscape and the Charolais cows that trudge past every day in the meadows around the cottage. Or the deer that walk from the neighbouring forest into the meadows. The swimming pool (available May-September) is private for our guests and is not used by us.

Wat een prachtige locatie is dit. Zo heerlijk rustgevend met al die mooie uitzichten. Het huis is gezellig en smaakvol ingericht. Alles wat je nodig hebt is aanwezig. Er zijn gezellige terrassen aangelegd vanwaar je een mooi uitzicht op de omgeving hebt. Leuk om te zien zijn ook de witte Charolais koeien die de hele dag in het weiland heen en weer sjokken. We hebben ook een paar keer de reeen tevoorschijn zien komen. De verhuurders zijn ook lieve mensen die altijd voor je klaar staan indien je vragen hebt of tips wil krijgen of om gewoon een praatje te maken. Wij hebben genoten van ons verblijf en raden het zeker aan.

Of course, there are plenty of restaurants in the area. Like in our village, a restaurant serving traditional French cuisine with local produce.
Activities
The Saône-et-Loire department where our gîte is located is the birthplace of the Voie Verte; France's first Greenway. "Voie Verte" are exclusively for non-motorised vehicles, pedestrians, cyclists, rollerblades, disabled people and sometimes horse riders. They use old towpaths along canals and rivers, unused railway lines, coastal promenades, forest paths and the avenues of city parks. In Bourbon-Lancy, you can hire electric bikes to cycle the Voie Verte. This city has an old medieval quarter, parks, a well-known spa, a lake with its small " health trail ", a casino and a few museums. The CeltÔ wellness centre opens its doors to you every day of the week. A game of golf is also possible on the 9-hole golf course. A visit to the medieval town of Cluny with its abbey is definitely worthwhile. For children up to 12 years old, Le Petit Robinson is a fun place. An amusement park with animals, mini golf, go-karting and much more. In Digoin you will find a mosaic museum, the canal bridge over the Loire and a museum dedicated to the Loire, its fauna, its flora. Even without a boating licence, you can rent boats in Digoin for a day on the canal. Paray-le-Monial Paray-le-Monial is best known for its Basilica of the Sacred Heart and its horse races.
Within about a 30-minute drive, you'll find several activities for children of which Le PAL is the biggest. A 50-hectare animal and amusement park with 25 attractions and 600 animals from five continents. Association Le Domaine des Lionnes is a petting zoo. Set up by animal lovers in general and Shetland ponies in particular. The leisure park Diverti Parc with Travellers' Choice 2021, offers numerous activities for young and old. Perrigny-sur-Loire is located on the Burgundy/Auvergne border where the Loire River forms the border. Perrigny is therefore a great starting point for trips in both Burgundy and Auvergne. Such as Moulins and the seaside resort of Vichy. The Morvan regional nature park is just under an hour's drive away.

Perrigny-sur-Loire is a small village in the French countryside, located in the Saône-et-Loire department, Burgundy region. Almost bordering the Loire River where, across the river, lies the Auvergne region. The gîte is located outside the village centre, among the meadows, from where you can walk along the narrow hilly country roads to the woods or towards the village centre for beautiful views of the Loire.
The hilly landscape offers beautiful views and quiet country roads for cycling. Perrigny is just in the hilly countryside before passing into the lower and flat landscape of the Loire region. The Loire forms the border between Burgundy and Auvergne. There are many cycle routes here that can be combined with the Voie Verte, France's first Green Way.
This part of Burgundy is a combination of nature, tranquillity and space where it is wonderful cycling and walking with nice towns within driving distance in Burgundy and Auvergne. We cannot guarantee the weather, but even in October you can still enjoy plenty of sunny (mid)days.
Nice places to visit are Bourbon-Lancy where you can hire electric bikes to cycle the Voie Verte. This town has a small medieval quarter, a spa, a lake with park and play equipment and a perfume-making shop. Digoin includes a mosaic museum and the Pontcanal: a canal across the Loire. A little closer is Saint Aubain sur Loire where you can paddle down the Loire in a hired canoe. The medieval town of Cluny with its abbey is also well worth a visit. Due to its location on the border with the Allier department, Moulins and Vichy are also easily accessible.

On arrival, the beds are made and towels are provided. The towels are for use in the cottage only, please bring your own bath towels for use by the pool.
Prices do not include tourist tax: € 0.60 per night per person from 18 years.
The gîte is heated with a wood-burning stove and electric radiators. Wood is sufficiently available and included in the price.
You pay the deposit before your arrival directly to the landlord by bank transfer. Within 7 days after deduction of any damage, the deposit will be returned to your account.
