Saulchoy is a small village set in lush green valleys, with well-kept cottages full of flowers on the banks of the river Authie. You'll find plenty of good-value restaurants here.
Beautiful medieval towns such as Amiens and Montreuil with markets, shops, terraces, flea markets and superb beaches are just 20 minutes away.

Een prachtige gite met een heerlijk (verwarmd) zwembad in een grote tuin. We hebben genoten hier met 3 tienerjongens (pool en tafeltennis vonden ze ook erg leuk!). De gite is ruim, met een gezellige woonkeuken en een ruime zitkamer en goede bedden. Daarnaast een heerlijke douche. Wie weet komen we nog eens terug!

Een heerlijk huis met grote tuin, zwembad en terras voor het huis. Wij hebben vaak voor het huis op het terras gezeten en dan heb je minder privacy vanwege 'de buren'. Helaas waren wij niet op de hoogte van het feit dat het huisje dat haaks op dit huis staat tevens verhuurd wordt. Het was bij ons een komen en gaan van nieuwe huurders, waarvan je soms echt last hebt. Tevens deel je de oprit met 'de buren'.
Enig onderhoud aan het huis is gewenst: horren werken niet (goed), water in de douche en wasbak liep erg langzaam weg.Gerhard from Hengelo,
Het huisje "La grande Tourelle "is voorzien van alle gemakken. We hebben genoten van de rust en de luxe in en rondom het huis ! Verrassend mooie omgeving (glooiend landschap) en maar een steenworp van Nederland. In 15 minuten rijd je naar de zee. Verschillende badplaatsen waarvan Ault een aanrader is ! De eigenaar, van de vakantiewoning, David is erg vriendelijk en lekker makkelijk. Zoek je een weekje rust en comfort dan zit je hier goed.... Het huisje naast La grande tourelle wordt verhuurd via booking.com er kunnen dus mensen zitten die op doorreis zijn. Hier kun je geluk of pech mee hebben. Wij hadden met één gezin pech waarvan de ouders de kinderen vrij lieten in hun doen en laten met als gevolgd: gaten in het biljartlaken, voetstappen op de tafeltennistafel en alle balletjes verdwenen. Maar goed het zegt meer over de ouders dan over de kinderen... Gelukkig heeft het onze vakantiepret niet bedorven...
Restaurants, food & wine
In our village, a young couple run a restaurant serving good food. Everything is homemade and the prices are reasonable. A Michelin-starred restaurant with a terrace overlooking the château is just a 5-minute drive away. On the coast, many restaurants offer naturally fresh fish and views of the Somme and Authie bays.
The many markets in the area offer local produce.
Activities
The holiday home contains a document detailing the many activities, beautiful towns, restaurants and public facilities.
Saulchoy is situated in a quiet rural area ("the seven valleys"), where you can walk or cycle. The coast, with its picturesque fishing villages and fashionable seaside resorts, is around 20-30 km away.
There are many markets, flea markets and fairs in the area.
For children:
There's plenty to do in the many seaside resorts. If you're looking for something fun to do with the kids not far from the coast, here are a few tips.
-Parc Bagatelle (30 minutes).
This large family park south of Le Touquet-Paris Plage is the perfect place for a day out with the kids. It offers more than 44 family attractions, including rollercoasters, shows, a wildlife park and restaurants.
- Canoeing and kayaking at Les Hesdin.
-Aqualud (30 min)
Discover the Aqualud water adventure park. A pirate park, wave pool, whirlpool or dive into the black hole with an inflatable boat.
-Nausicaä (65 km).
The sea lions are the highlight of the national marine centre. Then there's the tropical lagoon, with fish in every colour of the rainbow and stingrays you can stroke.
-Beautiful towns and tourist sites :
Les Jardins de Valloires:
Unbelievably beautiful park (8 hectares) with dozens of varieties of roses, herbs and hundreds of different trees near Argoules Abbey (accessible on foot).
Montreuil-sur-Mer (19 km).
An old fortified town with ramparts where you can go for a walk, near the area where Victor Hugo's "Les Misérables" was filmed. Every year in July (4x) and August (4x), sound and light shows are staged on the theme of "Les Misérables". Local residents dress up for the occasion in costumes from Victor Hugo's era. Reality and fiction merge in the historic setting of this architectural monument: the Citadelle. A welcoming centre with restaurants and (often eccentric) shops.
Hesdin (17 km).
The ancient town of Hesdin, with its intimate, atmospheric setting and full range of facilities, is crossed by La Canche, one of the small rivers that make the Seven Valleys region so special. Once a week, on Thursday mornings, the Hesdin market is particularly lively.
