Les Epinays is a beautiful period house nestled at the end of a long, secluded, driveway just 1 0 minutes drive from the historical town of Domfront. The interior has been completely refurbished with modern facilities and quirky mid century furnishings. The wood fired hot tub looks onto the private courtyard surrounded by flowers and brimming with butterflies. It is located under shelter within the cobbled garden. The huge lawns are perfect for sunbathing. You will have complete privacy here as you are surrounded by fields and there are no buildings to over look you. The house is set on 3 floors and once you are through the kitchen the living room opens up into the full height of the house. It is incredibly light and airy and provides the perfect romantic get away or just the need for some peace and quiet. On the first floor you will find a double bedroom and a modern bathroom with large shower. The stairs lead you to the second landing with a bright work area over looking the living room. From here the small, but steep, stairs (5) take you up to the third floor to the king size bedroom with balcony. This is a gorgeous place for a night cap and star gazing. The large private gardens have multiple seating areas so you can follow, or avoid, the sunshine throughout the day. Check in day is Friday. Please send us a message if you require a different travel day and we will do all we can to be flexible! We can only consider babies or older children due to the triple height gallery landing, balcony and hot tub but please contact us to discuss it further. The 5 steps to the balcony bedroom are steep so not suitable for those with mobility issues. Dogs are accepted but we ask they do not enter the bedrooms. Please contact us if you would like to discuss this further as we can always be flexible.

Les Epinays is situated just a 10 minute drive outside of the historical town of Domfront which hosts a popular Medieval festival in August. Parc regional, basse Normandie is on the doorstep and ideal for walking and cycling. The house is very rural and therefore, private. Internet can be slower than expected in a city! There really is so much to visit in Normandie it's impossible to list everything so please let us know if you have anything specific in mind and we'll investigate for you.

Wat een prachtige locatie. Heerlijk genieten van totale stilte, natuur en totale privacy.
Wij zijn hier helemaal tot rust gekomen.
Keuken is voorzien van alles wat je nodig hebt en toffe plekjes om in of rond het huis te eten . Hottube is een zalige extra om s avonds of in de vroege uurtjes in te vertoeven. Dikke merci Natalie 👌😉 Echt top plek voor mensen die van rust houden 🤗Henk from Santpoort,
Als je op zoek bent naar rust dan is dit de ultieme plek waar je de stilte kunt horen. Aan het einde van een weggetje ligt dit leuke Hans & Grietje huisje. Splitlevel verdiepingen met authentieke elementen. Goed uitgeruste keuken met gezellige eethoekjes, binnen en buiten. Heerlijk in de hottub als de avond wat afkoelt. Een echte relaxte vakantie gehad, plek om te onthouden. Bedankt Natalie!

Beautiful house, well equipped, total privacy, very quiet, huge garden with a lot of places where you can sit down and relax. House is less suitable for people with walking difficulties because of the various (steep) stairs. Nice surroundings. Natalie is quick in answering any questions.

Restaurants, food & wine
The famous Calva distillary is just 10 minutes drive away and does organised tours 'Calvados Comte Louis de Lauriston', Rue du Mont Saint Michel, 61700.
Domfront has many cafes and restaraunts to enjoy. The stunning village of Lonlay L'abbaye is 20 minutes away and hosts superb 'vide grenier' flea markets and local events. The romantic and very fashionable Bagnoles de L'Orne is worth the 30 minute drive to enjoy the lakes, forests, restaurants and bars. If you need a shopping fix the head to Caen approximately an hour away..or if its the sea air and a book you prefer then beautiful Granville and Carolles are only an hour away.
Activities
Domfront sits above the Veronne valley and is full of reminders of it's rich historical past retaining many half timber houses and mansions through narrow cobbled streets. There is a stunning view of the hedged farm land from Place du Panorama and the castle gardens. The farming land around Domfront has been awarded the 'Site Remarquable du Goût', culinary excellence label and the local Perry and Calva is a must try!
Les Epinays is well placed just a 10 minute drive from Domfront, Normandy. From brocante hunting, walking,cycling, kayaking and fishing you are never far away from something so please let us know if you have something in mind and we can explore all the options for you depending on the time of year.

We are very sorry but Les Epinays is not suitable for toddlers or young children due to the triple height gallery landing, balcony and hot tub. We are happy to consider a babe in arms or older children but unfortunately can not risk crawlers or toddlers. Please contact us if you would like to discuss this further.
Additional price info and offers
Les Epinays has a pellet burner for the cooler months. The first bag of pellets is free. Additional bags are supplied at the cost price of 7 euros a bag. A bag lasts approximately 2-3 days if you require heat throughout the day, they last longer if only on in the evenings.
Hot tub wood is free for your first arrival tub! Additional bags are supplied at the cost price of 6-7 euros each.
