The house
La Grange is a spacious 2 bedroom gite renovated to a high standard with lots of character. Through out the gite you will find high ceilings, beautiful exposed charentaise stone walls and A frame beams. From your private patio you enter the gite through large glass doors into a spacious and light open plan living space with a fully equipped kitchen, dining area and a cosy sofa seating area with views towards country fields. From here you also have access to a rear private terrace with a second out door dining area and a BBQ.
A spiral staircase leads you to the upstairs landing from where you have a master bedroom with floor to ceiling windows with views to the pools and the communal garden. This is a really cosy place to sit and enjoy the views. A smaller second bedroom with bunk beds is on the other side of the landing. And a family shower room with rainwater shower head is entered both from the master bedroom and from the landing.

La Garenne family gites is located in a small hamlet with extensive views to vineyards, sunflower fields and country lanes. A short walk takes you to the forest of Aulnay.
The small market town of Aulnay Saintonge is a 7 minutes drive away.
Bigger town such as La Rochelle, cognac and Saintes are 45 minutes drive away.

In Aulnay Saintonge you will find a couple of small bars and restaurants as well as bakeries and a cake shop. Twice a week there is a market on the square where you can sample local produce as well as enjoying a drink and a croissant on the square enjoying French country life.
A short walk from La Garenne you can taste and purchase the local wine, cognac and pineau at the family run vineyard.
Activities
On the complex at La Garenne family gites we offer kids activities such as swimming lessons taught by qualified staff. If you child want to improve their swim stroke or simple need to just get confident in the water please let us know. This activity is available from 3+ years
