The house
Domaine de la Bade is a small-scale holiday paradise with six spacious holiday homes with lots of privacy.
Gîte Malepère "Haut" occupies the first and second floors of Maison Malepère, where two of the six gîtes are located.
The cosy living room with open kitchen is on the first floor. Because the house is built against a hill, you walk straight from the living room and kitchen onto the terrace to the spacious private garden of this gîte. Here you can enjoy spectacular views over the Malepère wine region and the valley of Carcassonne.
The gîte has two comfortable bedrooms: a master bedroom with en-suite bathroom and a second bedroom with three full-size beds and a private bathroom in the corridor.
What makes Gîte Malepère "Haut" truly special is the combination of ultimate privacy and the exceptionally large outdoor space - ideal for total relaxation in a beautiful setting.

Domaine de la Bade is close to the world-famous city of Carcassonne in the beautiful Languedoc-Roussillon region of sunny southern France. Set at the top of a hill, the 14-hectare property is surrounded by sunflower fields, vineyards and olive groves. There are no busy roads passing the estate and there is plenty of space to enjoy and relax outdoors.
The estate is located in the department of the "Aude" which stretches from the Mediterranean Sea to the Pyrenees. The land of the Cathars (as this region is also called) is a hospitable region with a unique history, beautiful landscapes and a truly authentic French atmosphere. Here you can easily step back in time and experience the real France!

Restaurants, food & wine
Eating & drinking is among the locals' favourite pastimes and the area is therefore blessed with tasty restaurants, fantastic markets and many wine estates where a nice glass of wine can be tasted. But enjoying a cup of coffee on a sleepy terrace in the area or a nice picnic along the beautiful Canal du Midi is of course not to be sneezed at either.
There is much to see and do the land of the Cathars. We are happy to help you discover this beautiful region.
Activities
In the immediate surroundings, there is plenty to see and do. The city of Carcassonne with the largest walled castle in Europe is 15 km from the estate. Here you can enjoy various knightly shows and festivals in summer. Near Carcassonne there is also a large lake with sandy beach (ideal for the little ones) and an adventure park with climbing and scrambling parcous which is one of the highlights for slightly older kids.
The beautiful surroundings with hills, mountains, rivers, lakes and typical French villages have much to offer in terms of sporting activities; mountain biking, cycling, hiking, white water canoeing, rafting, swimming, fishing, boating, visiting caves, skiing, windsurfing, catamaran sailing, horse riding, golf and much more.

You can also enjoy culinary delights at Domaine de la Bade. Once a week, a delicious 3-course menu is offered (table d'hotes) where all guests can join for a convivial meal. You can also book a welcome meal on the day of arrival, which will be served in your cottage. So you can start your holiday relaxed.

Prices include electricity, gas, water, bed linen, towels, tea towels and Wi-Fi. Tourist tax and compulsory final cleaning are not included in the price.
Baby cots can be reserved free of charge when booking. A complete baby kit (cot, dining chair, baby bath and nappy mattress) is available free of charge (on request).
