The house
An old farmhouse, full of character, renovated to provide very comfortable accommodation for holidaymakers. In 2023 the owners extended it from 5 to 9 beds by adding two bedrooms and a bathroom.
The house has exposed beams, a fireplace and a spacious living area. On the ground floor there is a sitting room, a fitted kitchen/dining room, a shower room and a store room. First floor: 5 bedrooms, bathroom, shower room. Terrace with garden furniture, sun loungers and barbecue. From 2021 private swimming pool only available to tenants of the Botineau house. Notices prior to 2021 state that the pool is shared but this is no longer the case.
Pets can be accepted with prior agreement of the owners.

20 minutes from the beautiful sandy beaches of the Vendee. House located in a hamlet of 2 5 houses near the river Yon. 4 km from Champ Saint Père where you will find shops, pharmacy etc.. The area offers many interesting visits such as the Marais Poitevin, the adventure course "O'Fun" (6km) the water park O'Glisse (7km) and the theme park of Puy du Fou which is particularly recommended.

We hebben hier twee heerlijke weken vakantie gevierd met onze kinderen van 3 en 8. Het huis is van alle gemakken voorzien, er is een zeer grote tuin bij het huis met een omheind zwembad en je hebt prachtig uitzicht. In de directe omgeving is een mooi gebied om te wandelen naar een riviertje. Er is ook veel te ondernemen in de verdere omgeving. Sinds COVID wordt het zwembad niet meer gedeeld. De kinderen vonden het zwembad fantastisch en we hebben elke dag gezwommen! De eigenaren zijn erg vriendelijk en behulpzaam.

Wij hebben een fantastische week beleefd op deze locatie.
Je wordt er eerst en vooral heel goed onthaald door Solange en William. Nadien krijg je een rondleiding en toen wij er waren stonden er verse bloemen op tafel.
Het huis is erg ruim en gezellig ingericht. De douche op de benedenverdieping is een groot pluspunt voor wanneer je naar het strand bent geweest.
Qua activiteiten deden wij de volgende zaken: waterpretpark O’Gliss (wel vrij duur), avonturenpark Le Grand Défi, kanovaren la Maison du Marais (korte tocht, goed met jonge kinderen), le passage du Gois, l’Aiguillon-sur-Mer (kermisattracties).

Thank you for your comments. For 2021, because of the Covid crisis, we have decided to let the pool only with maison Botineau. So it is not shared anymore. We don't let the other two houses anymore.

Prima vakantiehuis. Heel fijn terras waar je 's ochtends in de zon kunt ontbijten. Terras was omheind, ideaal met kleine kinderen. Verder een grote tuin en omheind zwembad (delen met 2 andere huisjes). Eigenaren erg aardig en behulpzaam. Leuke vakantie gehad met onze kinderen van 1,5 en 4,5.

For 2021, because of the Covid problème, we have decided to let only Maison Botineau with the pool. So the pool is not shared anymore, it is only for the use of people who rent maison Botineau.
Restaurants, food & wine
The "Wine Route" in the Mareuillais region offers a day of wine tasting in the local cellars. The quality of the local wine is much better than a few years ago!
The Maison Mourat in Mareuil sur Lay (7 km) offers tastings and visits to the vineyards
Activities
The Vendée coast offers all kinds of nature, water and sports activities. La Tranche sur Mer and Les Sables d'Olonne are particularly recommended for surfing and windsurfing. For nature lovers and walkers, there are hundreds of miles of marked trails through the beautiful Vendée countryside. For those looking for a bit of history, there are many castles and museums to visit.

Further remarks
The owners, a French-British couple, live in a hamlet close to the property and are always on hand to give you information about the area, sightseeing and the "best places". They are ready to help you if you need it.
Additional price info and offers
In May, June, September and October, it is possible to arrive on a day other than Saturday and the rates are negotiable depending on the number of people and the length of stay. Please contact us.
