The house
Private attractive detached house with large swimming pool (open from June to mid-October).
Located in wooded surroundings on over 5,000 m² with lots of privacy.

The house is located just outside the village of Saint-Martin de Pallières (Var). There is a shop in Saint-Martin de Pallières for all your daily needs.
The house is ground floor, so suitable and accessible for all ages.
Property:
The house has all the luxuries and conveniences. You only need to bring your own necessities. Everything is provided. Washing machine and dishwasher, linen and towels, TV and DVD, medium-sized crate for the dog, camping cot, high chair and for off-season plenty of wood to burn. The house is entirely on the ground floor. For cooking enthusiasts, there is an exceptionally well-equipped and spacious kitchen with all kinds of kitchen utensils, where it is great cooking with several people at once.
There are two nice bathrooms. The living room is spacious, cosy with wood-burning stove and Portuguese tiled floor with underfloor heating. Books, toys and games are plentiful. All (bed) rooms have French doors opening to the surrounding terraces. There are three double bedrooms. One with two separate box-spring beds and two with double beds, one of which is extra long, 2.20 m. Camping cot and extra beds on request.
Garden:
Beautiful private swimming pool (10 x 4m.), lower than the house. With child protection (alarm) and cleaning robot. The pool is heated by the sun and is open from June to mid-October. A lovely boules court was added in 2021; balls are provided! Lovely large private grounds.
Views all around, including views of the mountains of the Gorges du Verdon. Plenty of garden furniture available. You can create your own terraces anywhere.

The location:
The house is located on a slope in the middle of nature. You can walk straight into the countryside.
Or you walk along the many country roads to experience the typical atmosphere of this region. There is also the Grande Randonée N99 that runs along Saint Martin de Pallières.
In the vicinity are several forests where you can make lovely walks. The house is located in a traditionally known hiking area.
You will find the walking routes in the house. From La Renardière you can also get on your bike and make a beautiful trip of about 65 km.
The surroundings:
In a still unspoilt region there are characteristic villages, such as Varages, Rians, La Verdière, Barjols, Brue-Auriac etc.
Eight villages in the Var have joined together in an organisation whose aim is to promote their great charm and unique village experience. One of these villages is Saint-Martin de Pallières.
Situated on a mountain plateau, overlooking the valley of le Grand Vallat and that of la Bastidette. The village fans out over the lower mountain slopes and is dominated by a very well preserved castle. This dates from the 12th century. Unfortunately, it is not open to the public. However, it is also worth seeing from a distance. The park belonging to the castle was laid out in 1734.
Furthermore, there is a church from 1688 and a bell tower from the 15th century with a door from the Renaissance.

Restaurants, food & wine
In Saint Martin, you can order bread from the bistro.
In Varages (7 km) there is a delicious bakery and a good butcher. At the front of the same (main) street is Madame Silvie's favourite fruit and vegetable and food shop. Everything is open on Sunday mornings.
In Rians-centre (12 km), the fish shop is open on Friday and Saturday mornings, highly recommended! To the left of the café you will find an organic shop. On Friday mornings there is a small market in Rians.
In Saint-Maximin la Sainte-Baume (21 km) there is a large market on Wednesday mornings.
"The Bergerie" in Ginaservis (15 km) is very good. You will find other recommended restaurants in the guestbook.
Rural tour in the Var past well-known and well-regarded wineries.
Activities
Lac St. Croix is a 40 min. drive from St. Martin. The smaller Lac de Carcès is also worth a visit.
Everywhere in the area you will find cosy Provençal markets, e.g. on Saturdays in St. Maximin, which are also worth visiting.
Space, quiet, history, nature in the immediate vicinity, not touristy.
Very much to discover (at night the owls, during the day the sheep flock with their shepherd and in the twilight you might see a fox).

* Varages (7 km) ceramics factory with incredibly beautiful Provencal pottery, Pottery Museum and workshops of ceramists

* Saint-Maximin la Sainte-Baume (21 km) with the basilica Sainte-Madeleine and monastery
* Abbaye du Thonoret (49 km), Cistercian monastery from the 12th century
* Aix-en-Provence, (45 km) the former capital of Provence
* Gorges du Verdon (90 km)

We komen hier voor de derde keer. Zo een fijne plek en persoonlijk en huiselijk ingericht. Schitterend uitzicht, fijn zwembad (wordt goed schoongehouden 2x per week), heerlijke keuken, fijne bedden, etc.
Leuke dorpjes en brocantes. Wij hadden een dierenarts nodig voor onze hond, en zijn terechtgekomen bij Delphine Duval in Barjols. Erg sympathieke vrouw die ook nog eens goed Engels spreekt.Karin from Berlare,
We werden goed ontvangen in deze prachtig gelegen ruime vakantiewoning met een schitterend uitzicht en een goed onderhouden zwembad!
We hebben genoten van de natuur en de rust in het zonovergoten Zuid-Frankrijk. Het is een heel mooie streek met pittoreske dorpjes en leuke marktjes. We deden ook een uitstap naar de nabijgelegen Azurenkust, druk maar zeker een aanrader om eens te doen!

Wat een aangename, warme, gezellige woning! Prachtige ligging!
En zo heerlijk dat de bedden opgemaakt waren bij aankomst na onze lange treinreis.
Ook het aantal handdoeken was meer dan voldoende, héél erg fijn!
Wij hebben er enorm van genoten! Ook van het grote zwembad en de lieve buurman die het dagelijks proper hield.
Een heerlijk(e) (t)huis!
