The house
Our 'gîte' is built from 'mas' Les Hauts Près from the beginning of the 19th century, completely rebuilt in 2007 and renovated in 2012.
La Ressource' is a holiday home for 6 pers. (+ 1 baby-bed available) on 2 levels (120m2) with south facing, private & enclosed garden (1700m2) with independent access through a private gate.
Since May 2013 : completely PRIVATE SWIMMING POOL (8mx4m)
From 2015 : private 'boulodrome' (petanque court)
Equipment & Interior:
Ground floor: large dining room with open kitchen (ceramic cooker, fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher), bathroom with shower & toilet and a separate storage room with washing machine. Spacious living room with flat screen TV, HIFI chain and fireplace with wood stove. Cot & high chair available.
Wifi available.
First floor with mezzanine (2 single beds), 2 double bedrooms and 2 bathrooms with shower and toilet.
Garden furniture, parasols, picnic table and BBQ available.
Large private parking area (+/- 100m2).
Pillows and duvets are available, other bed linen and towels have to be provided by yourself.

La Ressource' is quietly situated amidst the olive- & vineyards of Villedieu/Buisson. These idyllic villages in the Vaucluse department with a view on the Mont Ventoux are closely linked in their history and current biodynamic winegrowing, at 7 km from the town of Vaison-la-Romaine. Besides picturesque shopping streets and all modern city facilities, Vaison is known for its large Provencal market (Tuesdays), impressive archaeological Roman site, medieval quarter and cultural & artistic manifestations throughout the year.
From the 13 medieval villages around Vaison, Villedieu (at 1,5Km) is appreciated for its charming village square with century old plane trees and fountain. A village café, 2 restaurants and a grocery shop will immediately bring you into the Provencal rhythm. With its more than 2250 hours of sunshine and fertile loamy soil, the Vauclusiens recognize their region as a paradise with a rich harvest of olives, grapes, strawberries, mirabelles, almonds ...
Buisson/Villedieu is easily accessible by car (920 km from Brussels) or by TGV to Avignon (direct from Brussels in 4h20min).

Wat een prachtige plek midden tussen de wijn- en olijfgaarden. Het huis is van alle gemakken voorzien, goede bedden en mooie badkamers, de keukenuitrusting is zeer uitgebreid. We hebben heerlijk ontbeten in de zon met stokbrood en croissants uit Villedieu. Hier loop je in ongeveer een kwartier naar toe over een pad tussen de wijnranken en olijfbomen. Het zwembad zorgt voor verkoeling maar ook de Gorge du Toulourenc is daarvoor perfect. Rudy en Nadine hebben een informatiemap met allerlei goede tips voor uitstapjes, restaurants en wijnen.

Heerlijke week in een fijn huis dat binnen én buiten van alle comfort voorzien is! Gelegen te midden van de wijngaarden en olijfbomen.
Ook voor uitstappen en boodschappen heb je voldoende opties nabij.De wielerliefhebber kan zich ook uitleven in een prachtig landschap met de mont ventoux als uitschieter!

Bij Macon schuiven de eerste karakteristieken van de Mediteranée aan ons voorbij. Even voorbij Montelimar slingeren we bij Bollène langs de grens met La Drôme Provençale de mooie Vaucluse binnen. Over de L'Eygues wacht ons enkele minuten later het authentieke Villedieu (Buiisson). Het is moeilijk kiezen, de stille platanen en het café Le Centre op het warme dorpsplein of, op 20 minuutjes kuieren door wijn- en olijfgaarden, de rust in en om La Ressource, de bijna-heerlijckheid van Rudy en Nadine. Hier vind je alle gemakken en comfort in een ruim, smetteloos huis, met lichte en luchtige kamers en een makkelijk te onderhouden, goed voorziene keuken. De uitstekend georiënteerde zuiderse tuin en het weldadige zwembad ontnemen je haast de zin om de oneindig interessante omgeving te gaan exploreren. La Ressource is niet het zoveelste vakantiehuis op een rij. Je wordt er omarmd door goede zorgen en liefde voor het land. Wij waren er tweemaal, en wellicht niet voor 't laatst!
Restaurants, food & wine
For a hearty, summer lunch, salad or pizza in a wood oven, you can visit 3 restaurants on the picturesque village square of Villedieu. Vaison la Romaine (at 6Km) offers a wide range of democratic restaurants up to the better kitchen, but also in the neighbouring Gigondas, Sablet or Vacqueyras you will find exquisite restaurants.
The (elongated) Rhone valley is the oldest wine region of France. The wine tradition dates back to 600 BC when the Greeks were already cultivating wine here. Today, the region already has about 80000 hectares planted. The Vaucluse is located in the southern Rhône area, with a warm, Mediterranean climate with dry summers and mistral winds. In the clay-sand soil, mainly the Grenache, Mourvèdre, Cinsault and Carignan grape varieties are cultivated, which produce full-bodied and spicy wines. In addition to each local "Cave Coöperative", you will find numerous smaller wine producers who will introduce you to their products in an informal way.

Away from mass tourism, the Vaucluse offers the ideal environment for those who enjoy life, sports and eco-tourism. With over 2000 years of history, Vaison la Romaine is at the heart of a cultural and archaeological heritage, surrounded by a crown of 13 medieval villages, amidst olive & pine trees and vineyards of course. Winding through the 'vignes' along the 'Route de Vin' you pass the less and more famous wine villages with their AOC 'Côte du Rhône Village': Vacqueyras, Gigondas, Rasteau, Roaix, Sablet, Séguret, Visan, Vinsobres, ... The big & small wine producers welcome you for a noncommittal degustation. Nyons you will visit for its olive- & lavender products in all their forms. For a full day trip you can reach the cultural cities of Orange, Avignon or the Enclave des Papes in less than an hour. Only 100 km to the south, you can enjoy the Mediterranean Sea (e.g. Marseille).
Sports enthusiasts have numerous hiking & biking routes at their disposal: starting from our gite, you can take on the Mont Ventoux or the beautiful Dentelles de Montmirail. Also 2 riding schools in the direct neighbourhood provide horses & guides for adventurous rides. In Villedieu (at 1,5 Km) you will find 2 modern tennis courts, skate park and playground.
On hot days, the cooling walk through the riverbed of the 'Toulourenc' is an absolute must for water lovers of all ages.
And of course you have your own private swimming pool (8m x 4m) at your disposal for a refreshing dive or relaxing at the water's edge.

Further remarks
We like to rent our holiday home to people who enjoy the Provençal life, with respect for nature & inhabitants and can be booked all year round. It is surprising how the Vaucluse shows its beauty in every season with its mild climate.
The swimming pool is available from mid-May to October.
