We had a lovely stay at Poppas at Les Mortiers.
The hosts were friendly and helpful, and despite not sharing any common language we had no problems communicating.
The Gite itself is lovely, comfortable, and has everything we needed for a restful holiday. It was nice to just sit and watch the sun go down with a glass of wine. On warmer days, floating around in the pool was very appreciated.

We choose this gite because of the warm advertisement. Beds would be Made, charcoal Shoud be there, airconditioning, heated pool.
Upon arrival we arrived in a ‘’muffy’ place which hasn’t been ventilated for a while.
No airconditioning was available in this outdated house.
Because it was warm we wanten to head for the pool but this was dark green, and could not be used.
We learned at that point the new ‘owners’ just arrived 2 days before us.
Clearly the place has been abandoned for a while.
Thee offered us, after making a complain 200 euro cash back…
We paid 1500 euro for a place whichwas covered with weed, bad maintenance On the property and no pool.
Asking for a nearby water to swim , the owner didn’t know, because they where new to the Area as Well.
Eventualy the pool was cleared but turned out really cold.
For us, a holiday we really looked out to, was shred to pieces because of the incompetente of the new owner.
This place is not worth the money they ask for,
The wooden deck at the pool was dangerous broken and not up to par to host children, OR Any human
The owners don’t speak english……
It’s old, lack of maintenance, overgrown weed..

Indeed, we should perhaps not have agreed to stay so soon after our arrival. Due to a power failure, the pool pump did not work during the 3 days preceding our arrival and the pool was green. The problem is now solved, the pump has been changed very recently, and the pool is again very beautiful! As for the garden, we spent many hours there, it still remains to be done, but it is now more pleasant. Many families had a great stay this summer at Les Mortiers!

Een heerlijk rustig stukje Frankrijk, niet ver van Saumur en Chinon en voldoende wandelmogelijkheden in de buurt.. Een lekker bed en keuken met alle voorzieningen (koelkast/vriezer, vaatwasser etc.) Een prima douche en een heerlijk terras op het zuiden. Wij hebben er met z'n tweeën een heerlijke week gehad.
Jean en Mike zijn erg vriendelijke en gastvrije mensen.
Het enige minpuntje: geen of hele slechte wifi.

Alles wat je nodig hebt. Een heerlijk huis (wij verbleven in Poppas) met fijne plek om buiten te zitten (in mooie tuin), verwarmd zwembad en zeer hartelijke en behulpzame eigenaren. Onze jongens vonden het heel leuk om op de grote vide te slapen. Het is een mooie uitvalsbasis om de Loire streek te verkennen inclusief hele leuke fietsroutes!

Eigenaren buitengewoon hartelijk en gastvrij, maar de gite is gedateerd en ongeschikt voor mensen met een gemiddelde lengte. Prijs-kwaliteit daarom niet in balans.

It is clear from the advertisement that The Grenier is a grain loft. On arrival, the guest commented that she recognised The Grenier from the website photo as soon as they arrived. It was therefore clear that this is an upstairs apartment. Nothing is old, current Ikea sofa, quality mattresses, Egyptian cotton white bedding, plain white top of the range plates, bowls etc, induction hob. The sofa covers, perfectly clean on their arrival, left greasy and a red stain on the arm (tomato sauce?). Little effort was made to clean, plastic bottles stacked in the bookcase.
