Overlooking the Andaine Forest, that stretches across the horizon from east to West, La Pommeraie is a laid back and luxurious chambre d'hote set in three and a half acres of gardens, private orchard and woodland. Near the historic town of Domfront-en-Poiraie in the Lower Normandy region of France, surrounded by beautiful, rural French countryside. Whether you’re looking for a few days away in the seclusion of the countryside or somewhere to gather with friends for that special occasion, we offer luxury ensuite bedrooms in the authentic, rural setting of ‘Le Jardin’ outside the small village of Champsecret. We have two guest rooms with Emperor and Superking-size beds, egyptian cotton sheets and feather & down quilts, making for a superb night’s sleep whatever the season. The only alarm clocks here are the birdsOur two guest rooms are on the first floor and both have south facing views. As experienced guests ourselves in hundreds of rooms over the years, there was no doubt in our minds during renovations, about the priorities of room facilities we wanted for our guests; very comfortable beds and great bathrooms. To give our guests extra space and comfort, our two guest rooms are divided by what we call ‘The Reading Room’. In here, you’ll find a selection of complimentary snacks and treats and refreshments including tea and coffee of course, available throughout the day that you can enjoy from this room, while still in your bathrobe or take into your bedroom. There is free wi-fi and an abundance of nature to enjoy around the grounds.
La Pommeraie has a fascinating history that we've loved learning about as we continue to renovate this lovely old property, restoring her character and grace. There's a warm welcome for you when you arrive and we pride ourselves on being flexible to meet individual guest's needs so don't hesitate to tell us how we can make your stay with us better.
The property sits in small hamlet and we've teamed up with our neighbours to offer additional facilities such as horse riding experiences and Yoga sessions. Guests like the natural beauty of the place, the scenery and landscape is spectacular, full of nature and dark skies at night to star gaze. The nearby towns of Domfront and Bagnoles are well worth a visit as well as the nearby cheese farm, biscuit factory, distillery and the artisan chocolate shop for picking up some goodies to take home.

Overlooking the Andaine Forest, La Pommeraie is a magical Manoir set in three and a half acres of gardens, orchard and woodland. Near the historic town of Domfront-en-Poiraie in the Lower Normandy region of France, surrounded by beautiful, rural French countryside.We are in the small hamlet of Le Jardin 5 minutes drive heading east from the nearest town of Domfront en Poiraie in the Department of Orne, Lower Normandy.
An easy drive from the Brittany ferry ports if you’re coming into France from the north west. We are the perfect stop off on your way to explore the rest of the country. If you’re in France to visit the Normandy beaches, come and see us in the rural countryside just 50 miles south and explore the historic town Domfront.
Heading west from Calais, we are about four hours drive away on relatively empty motorways with some great scenery.
The train from Paris Montparnasse will get you here in about an hour and twenty minutes to Flers station just 10 minutes taxi ride from us.
Fly into Paris from anywhere in the world then take the train from Montparnasse heading west for about 2 hours to the nearby town of Flers.
France also has great internal flights you can get to Caen and Rennes airports from most of France’s majour city airports.

The elegant Pear Tree suite is decorated in a soft, relaxing colour palette toned with linen and cotton fabrics. This is the larger of the two guest rooms and has double windows with views across the Andaine Forest. Packed with original features including high ceilings, classic french fireplace, chandeliers and huge ornate french mirror.In the bedroom, enjoy the emperor sized Hypnos bed with cool, crisp linens, a medium tog down quilt and pillows for extra comfort in the Summer and warmth in the winter.
The ensuite bathroom has a generous walk-in rain shower, bathrobes, fluffy towels and fab toiletries

There is free wi-fi and an abundance of nature to enjoy around the grounds.Inspired by the quiet, rural setting, the abundance of evergreens and south facing views over the garden, our woodland and the forest beyond, Le Jardin feels fresh and airy and is decorated in a relaxing colour palette.There is a superking-size Hypnos bed dressed with luxury cotton sheets. Both bedroom and bathroom have high ceilings and hardwood floors. There’s traditional furniture, decorative cornice and chandeliers.
The bathroom has a walk in rainshower and combines modern comfort with gentle nods to the character and history of the house. Enjoy bathrobes, fluffy towels and fab toiletries. All creating a quiet, private and relaxing space to be enjoyed.
Restaurants, food & wine
10 minutes drive away from us, is the historic town of Domfront-en-Poiraie where there’s a choice of bars, cafés and restaurants.
If you prefer, we offer Table d'Hote for evening meals from a set menu and you can choose to eat in the garden or in the salon.
Taking inspiration from the Mediterranean, Spain, Italy, Israel and of course from Normandy, dinner is at 8pm, prepared in house by our resident trained chef the very talented chef Monsieur Craig himself. Evening meal costs €45 per person for a starter, main course, cheese course and dessert.

Evening Meals at La Pommeraie are available on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
On Tuesdays and Fridays our Charcuterie Grazing Boards are available for €25 per person

Our prices include a generous continental breakfast as well as complementary soft drinks, snacks and fruits and as much tea and coffee as you like all day.
Our Table d'hote menu is a set menu and is an additional charge.
For lighter, casual meals on the evenings we do not offer the Table d'Hote, we offer grazing boards with cheeses and cold meats etc. There is an additional charge.
The wi-fi is free and so is the parking.
