The house
On holiday ..... and still going to school? Welcome to A-LECOLE !
The old village school is beautifully situated on the edge of the village of St Auvent. Next to the school building is the house where the schoolmaster used to live. On the 1st floor of this authentic French house is our chambre d'hôte La Petite Ecoliere. With 2 atmospheric rooms and a bathroom, it can accommodate 1 - 5 persons.
La Cabane is a tastefully decorated room for 2-3 persons. This room has its own bathroom with toilet and a private terrace. Furthermore, we offer a luxury tent "Lotus bell" for 2 persons with a private terrace.
We like to welcome you here for 1 or more nights.

Located in the heart of France, you will find the picturesque village of Saint Auvent. At only 30 minutes driving from the A20 (near Limoges), it is ideal for one or more nights on your way through to the south.
In this typical French village with narrow streets, an old church and a real castle, you will find a small supermarket and a bar/restaurant within walking distance.

Restaurants, food & wine
In the summer months we cook 2-3 times a week for our guests. Outside this period possibly in consultation.
In July & August there is a farmers market every Thursday evening in one of the villages in the area. You sit outside at long tables - together with the French - to enjoy all the good things that the land produces here.
Furthermore, in the vicinity you will find a variety of restaurants - from pizza to gastronomy - for all tastes.
Activities
On our grounds you will find several places to relax. There is a swing, a bath for the children and a large lawn where they can play.
For a walk, you can walk from your front door straight into the picturesque village or the beautiful nature.
If you stay several days, this beautiful region also has a lot to offer.
View art at Lac de Vassiviere or go back in history at the impressive war memorial, Oradour sur Glane. A day trip to Limoges, famous for its porcelain or to Perigueux, capital of the Dordogne with a nice market every Wednesday. Fascinating Futuroscope, a bit of a drive (150km) but very much worthwhile for both young and old. With the children to Parc Bellevue (amusement park), Parc Reynou (zoo) or AventureParc. Spend a day on the water or in a canoe. In short .... There is more than enough to experience for both young and old. We have a wide selection of brochures, walks and maps, from which you can make a choice at your leisure.

Het was voor ons een tussenstop van Spanje terug naar Nederland, maar het bleek uiteindelijk een perfecte afsluiting van onze vakantie te zijn. Vincent heeft ons zeer prettig ontvangen en de leuke plekjes in de omgeving verteld. Ook zijn franse kippetje(s) waren overheerlijk. We konden nog even genieten van het uitzicht die zijn 'knoflook' tent ons bood. En de hond "ome Sjors" heeft heerlijk met de kinderen gespeeld.
We komen zeker nog een keer terug en dan voor iets langer dan twee dagen. Heel fijn!

We hebben in het appartement gelogeerd op de 1e verdieping op 29 en 30 augustus 2013. Heel leuk ruim appartement, alles voorhanden. Goed verzorgd en prachtige plek. 2 jaar eerder zijn we een week bij Annemieke en Vincent geweest en hadden toen het huisje gehuurd dat apart staat, dat heeft een mooi terras met prachtig uitzicht en als je er zit komt Sjors (de hond) op bezoek. We hebben er goed gegeten, Annemieke kookt lekker en maakt ook heerlijke jams van fruit uit eigen tuin. En 's avonds met een wijntje aan de lange tafel lekker kletsen en de eerste keer dat we er waren heeft Eduard lekker gitaar gespeeld. Een aanrader deze plek, gemoedelijk, mooi, alles goed verzorgd en Annemieke en Vincent zijn een hele goede gastvrouw en gastheer, leuke mensen!

l'ecole is een prachtige accommodatie in een prachtige omgeving. We hebben er een aantal dagen doorgebracht op onze terugreis vanuit Spanje. Annemieke en Vincent zijn zeer gastvrij en vriendelijk.
We hebben leuke activiteiten in de omgeving gedaan zoals het klimpark in Limoges en kanovaren. Onze kinderen van 10 en 14 hebben ook enorm genoten. Zeker een aanrader.
