The house
Our 500 year old farmhouse has recently been totally renovated and brought back to its original state. The five guest rooms and the holiday home have private entrances leading up from a small staircase in the inside yard, The rooms are spacious and comfortable and have been furnished with modern furniture without losing the original authentic style of the house with its old stones etc. Every room has an en suite with large shower a l’Italien and their own toilet. From the swimming pool situated in the recently laid out garden you can enjoy views over the surrounding countryside

In the region there are numerous activities available for nature lovers, beaches, culture and relaxation. The Farmhouse is a couple of minutes drive from the medieval village Sommieres with its traffic free streets, shops and terraces. In the neighborhood there are other villages which are worth visiting. In an hour you are is the famous pilgrimage village of St Guillam de Desert and the canyons de L’Herault. The towns of Uzes, Nimes, Montpelier, Avignon and Arles are all within 20 to 50 mins. driving distance. Within 20 mins, you can be on the white beaches which lay between Montpelier and Grande Motte. Otherwise you can visit the nature reserves such as the Camarque and the Cevennes within a short distance drive.

Restaurants, food & wine
Everyday we serve breakfast in the yard and 1 or 2 times a week we offer “Table d’hotes” served with local wines. In Sommieres and region there are numerous restaurants in various price ranges. We can supply a list of restaurants and advise you at the house. In the immediate vicinity of the house there are several vineyards where you can taste the local Languedoc wines. At the market – every Saturday – in Sommieres local produce is sold and particularly the tradition of eating fresh oysters with a glass of white wine is very worthwhile trying. On warm summer evenings we organize a barbeque
Activities
Past the farmhouse there are several mountain bike, horseback riding and walking paths and tracks directly available. On request you can rent bikes and we have an agreement with a local livery stable to rent horses or participate in guided tours from beginners to experienced riders both individually or in a group. You can then participate in horseback riding on the typical Camarque horses from this region. From various villages you can also do canoeing on the Herault river. If you prefer to tennis we can arrange for courts in the neighborhood town of Sommieres. For culture and town lovers there are numerous possibilities amongst which – the prehistoric village of Fontbouisse that is situated behind the farmhouse, the medieval town of Sommieres with its market on Saturdays and the traditional festivals where the bulls are let loose in the streets, the castle of the Roman village of Villevielle, the town of Nimes with its “maison Carree” and the arena which has various activities during the summer months, the village of Beaux de Provence, and the beautiful town of Uzes not forgetting at just 1,5 hours driving the town of Carcassone.
