The house
Behind the imposing facade of Le Prieuré, a former monastery from the beginning of 1800, you will find a small paradise with 5 chambres d´hôtes and 3 independent holiday homes. Le Prieuré is situated in the beautiful surroundings of the Dordogne and the Lot and nearby Souillac.
In the main building are 5 spacious chambres d´hôtes. Each room in chambres d´hôtes Le Prieuré has its own character and private sanitary facilities.
If you are looking for privacy, there are plenty of luxurious seats in the large garden to withdraw to and enjoy nature. If you are looking for company, there is a shaded communal terrace, where we are happy to provide you with a drink.
For cool evenings there is a lounge with a fireplace. In the salon there is an internet connection.
Uniquely, Le Prieuré has a chapel, still in its original state, where you can retreat to listen to pleasant music.
The fully equipped Gîtes are situated on the garden side and offer a lot of privacy. The Farm is the oldest part of Le Prieuré and has direct access to the chapel from the private garden. The Atelier has a private terrace and a view of the garden and patio. The Pavillon is a cosy house with a private terrace situated in the shade of 2 fig trees.

Le Prieuré is located in the beautiful medieval village of Cieurac, a 2-minute walk from the River Dordogne. Cieurac is 2 km from Souillac. This lively town offers plenty of shops, sunny terraces, restaurants, museums and markets. You can also play tennis, golf, go horse riding and canoeing.
Le Prieuré is centrally located to the famous towns of Sarlat, Domme, Beynac and the monastery town of Rocamodour. From Le Prieuré you can also walk and cycle in the beautiful surroundings. For fishermen the Dordogne is a real challenge.

In de zomer van 2012 hebben wij een kleine week doorgebracht in Le Prieure. Zoals het er op de site uitziet zo is het ook echt, een prachtige huis ( met een mooie,kleine kapel in oorspronkelijke staat) op een prachtige lokatie, midden in de Dordogne, 5 minuten rijden van Souillac. De service van de eigenaren Martin en Saskia is echt uitmuntend. Enthousiast, informerend en steeds bereid vragen te beantwoorden. Ze weten veel te vertellen over de streek, over wat er te doen is, lekkere restaurantjes etc.. De kamers die wij gebruikt hebben waren mooi, de tuin prachtig en ruim, de gezamenlijke ruimtes gezellig (met een volle boekenkast met goede boeken die geleend mogen worden:)) en tot slot een prima ontbijt. Kortom voor ons plek om absoluut naar terug te keren.
