The house
Do you want to enjoy nature and are you looking for peace and quiet and a beautiful view?
Then this cosy holiday home in France, built of natural stone, is for you. Here you can completely relax. It is suitable for a couple with or without children, or for two couples of friends. If you are interested, please respond immediately and ALWAYS include your telephone number. We will contact you as soon as possible.
The holiday house is situated against a hill and has an upper and a lower floor, with various height differences. There is a lot of space around the house with a large lawn and there are no other tenants. Also we are not here during your holiday!
You enter the house at the back. There you will find a staircase leading down to a bathroom (shower, bath, toilet and washing machine). From the bathroom you enter the spacious simple kitchen, which offers access to a covered and walled terrace. From the kitchen a second staircase leads to the spacious sitting room with French doors, and a half open bedroom. The sitting room also leads to a terrace with beautiful views, a barbecue and an old bread oven (Le Four). A small staircase outside connects the two terraces. To the left is a place with a solar-powered outdoor shower and washbasin. In cooler seasons the house is heated with 2 coal stoves. The house is further equipped with all conveniences.
In total there are 1 double bed and a bunk bed.

You are at about 700m altitude in this natural stone holiday paradise situated between heaven and earth.
In the middle of the chestnut forests with a beautiful wide view over the valley of the Ardèche. Located on completely free terrain (0.7 ha). Nearby is a small lake where you can swim and fish. At 10 min. you will find a bakery and cafes in Lussas or Vesseaux.
If you like French markets, go to the authentic farmers' market in Aubenas and Privas on Saturday.
In Lamastre, you can catch the Ardèche steam train. In Vogué, you can canoe - canoes can be hired. From Vallon Pont d'Arc you can canoe all day through the Gorges of the river. The beautiful city of Lyon is 120 km away. Especially the "Veille Ville" is very beautiful. On the east side of the Rhone, you will find the Drôme, with beautiful landscapes and high mountains. Well known are the cities of Crest and Die (Clairette de Die). And do not forget... September is often the best month in the Ardèche!

Wat hebben we genoten op deze adembenemend mooie plek!
Helemaal vrij met een magisch uitzicht.
Heerlijk huisje; verzorgt, schoon, karakteristiek.

Gezellig huisje op een bergflank aan een kronkelend wegje tussen de kastanjeboomgaarden. Wij kwamen om uit te rusten en dat is ons perfect gelukt. Prima uitvalsbasis voor wandelingen (recente stafkaart is een must). Zwemmen deden we in een riviertje op wandelafstand. Het stuwmeer was ons te steil, de ardêche een riool en te ver. We konden ons uren bezighouden met de vele insecten en de uitbundige flora. Opvallend was de massale aanwezigheid van buxusmotten die we met een vuurtje op afstand hielden.

Adembenemend elke dag opnieuw. Met een zeer goed geoutilleerd huis.

Restaurants, food & wine
Many cafés and restaurants nearby. Large supermarkets in Aubenas and Privas. Le Cave de Vesseaux for delicious wines. Already several times a gold medal for both white and red wine. The white chardonnay is highly recommended. The region is famous for chestnuts, game, specialities de l'Árdeche such as Dobe and Gratin and nougat specialities from Montelimar.
Activities
Walking without seeing a human being (but wildlife, birds and flowers)! The river Ardèche is at 20 min distance, as well as the bigger cities Privas or Aubenas.
For climbers, there are registered climbing spots at 500 m. Horseback riding is possible at a nearby riding school. Many caves in the area. Especially the caves at Orgnac are world famous.
