The house
The gite is a restored farmhouse. On the ground floor is a spacious, very fully equipped open-plan kitchen adjacent to the dining room and living room. There is a Tv set (no cable connection) and internet. The utility room has an American fridge, a large and small oven, storage room, shower with washbasin and separate toilet. There are also 2 bedrooms with double bed. One bedroom also has a single child's bed.
On the first floor is a bathroom with shower, bath and toilet. 1 bedroom with double bed and 1 single bed. A 2nd bedroom with double bed, separate toilet and washbasin. The 'master bedroom' (50 m2) is located in the ground floor annexe. It comprises a double bed (1.80 m), walk-in shower, toilet and washbasin. This room also has a 3-metre dressing room.
In the garden you can make use of a beautiful infinity pool (4M x 12M and a depth of 1.40M) from where you have a beautiful view of the entire valley. There is a very large selection of wooden loungers as well as a complete wooden garden set (2 sets). You can also use the Weber barbecue. There are two terraces attached to the house, one of which is covered and equipped with a fireplace that you can also use as a large BBQ. There is also a petanque court, so don't forget to pack your petanque balls!

The gite is situated at 10 min. walking distance from the village 'La Roche St. Secret' in a valley and at 5 min. from the river 'Le Lez'. In the village there is a restaurant and a small grocery where you can buy fresh bread daily and basic necessities.
The gite is situated at an altitude of 400m a bit hidden between a vineyard and an oak forest at the end of a dead end road. It is a perfect place for the peace seeker.

In this southern part of the Drome and in the Vaucluse, extensive vineyards can be found. The diversity of wines is very large; Cotes du Rhone, Gigondas, Chateauneuf du Pape, Vacqueyras and Baumes de Venise.
Typical for the region are also the endless lavender fields and many olive trees. And for lovers, there is of course the black winter truffle.
Activities
La Roche St. Secret is about 12 km from the towns of Dieulefit, Grignan and Valreas and 40 km from Vaison La Romaine. Both culturally as well as sportily there are numerous possibilities. There are many cycling, walking and VTT routes.

In Le Figuier beleef je een absolute droomvakantie !
Afgelopen zomer spendeerden we er als familie een ongelooflijk leuke vakantie. Het huis is een prachtig gerestaureerde boerderij met twee heel mooie terrassen. Eén aan de voorkant, overdekt met wijnranken en één aan de zijkant, dat zelfs een heel grote open haard/BBQ heeft. De naam 'Le Figuier' verwijst naar de vijgenboom in het midden van de grote tuin aan de voorkant van het huis. Maar de kers op de taart, is het onwaarschijnlijk mooie en grote zwembad, dat aan de zijkant van de tuin en hoger gelegen ligt, en uitkijkt op een uitgestrekte, adembenemende lavendelvallei. Daar spendeerden we uren...
Wanneer je in dit huis bent, heb je haast geen zin om de omgeving te gaan verkennen, maar de lavendel streek is zo mooi, en er zijn zovele stadjes en marktjes de moeite om te bezoeken, Nyons, Dieulefit, Vaison-La-Romaine, ... dat het een waar plezier is om de plekjes te ontdekken en dan terug te keren naar dit paradijs.
Dit huis is een aanrader bij uitstek !

Voor de eerste keer ben ik samen met mijn kinderen en kleinkinderen op vakantie geweest in dit huis.
En we gaan terug. Ideaal huis, zeer goed uitgerust en smaakvol ingericht. Prachtige tuin, en een zwembad
met een prachtig panorama, een beetje van het huis afgelegen zodat er voor iedereen privacy en rust
gegarandeerd is. Le paradis.
