The house
Inside:
The entrance is on the ground floor, hall, spacious and stylishly furnished living room with a wood stove, underfloor heating, beamed ceiling, LCD 32 inch TV with Dutch channels and DVD player. Fully equipped open kitchen with a dishwasher, refrigerator, oven, microwave and ceramic hob. For fire safety, there is a fire extinguisher, fire blanket and smoke detector. Toilet is in the entrance hall on the ground floor. There is a separate room with washing machine, spin dryer and ironing board.
Upstairs there are three available bedrooms, one of them has a balcony and a double bed. The other two bedrooms are equipped with two single beds per room. There are two bathrooms, one with bath and one with spacious shower. Separate toilet on the first floor.

The holiday home is located just outside the village of Le Biot in the Haute-Savoie department. It is surrounded by high mountains and you have a fantastic view. The holiday home is about 20 km and half an hour's drive from Thonon Les Bains. This city is located at the lake of Geneva. Near Thonon Les Bains you have beautiful parks on the lake where you can spend time in the summer. In Thonon Les Bains itself, you have enough shops to enjoy a day of shopping. In Thonon Les Bains, you also have a beautiful boulevard that runs along the lake with several terraces. Evian is located next to Thonon Les Bains and has mineral water springs known under the brand Evian. This place is also worth a visit. If you have not done enough shopping and want to see a big city, Geneva is nearby. Geneva is approximately 53 km away from the holiday home and is about an hour's drive. Geneva is the second largest city of Switzerland after Zurich and is located in the French speaking part of the country. Here you have several sights such as the old cathedral (Cathédrale Saint-Pierre) was John Calvin's own church (Protestant), Basilica Notre-Dame de Genève (Catholic), the Geneva Fountain and several museums. Other cities such as Montreux in Switzerland (63 km) and Annecy (84 km) are also worth a visit. The famous winter sports village of Morzine is about 13 km and 20 minutes' drive from the holiday home. This village is located in Portes Du Soleil and is one of the largest ski areas in the world and has 650 km of slopes. Other famous winter sports villages near the holiday home are Les Gets and Avoriaz. In the summer the main lifts in Portes Du Soleil are open to take hikers and mountain bikers up the mountain. You have many hiking trails in the area and if you like mountain biking you can go downhill. If Lake Geneva is too far away and you still want to relax by a lake. Then you have the lake of Montriond. This lake is about 20 minutes' drive from the holiday home. Here you can swim in the clear mountain water and take a walk around the lake. If you really want to see high mountains, then you will find the Mont Blanc with at the foot of the mountain the famous town of Chamonix, about 80 km from the holiday home. This is the highest mountain in Europe and is 4810,90 metres high.

We kopen hier al ca 10 jaar en elke keer weer voelt het als thuiskomen.
Mooi en zeer geschikt chalet. Prachtige omgeving. En wat een geweldig mooi skigebied.Wederom dank aan Mw EJ Koelewijn voor het mogen huren van dit fantastische chalet.

We verbleven voor de derde keer in Chalet Le Coq en het is ons weer prima bevallen. Het huis is ruim en comfortabel en goed ingericht. Het contact met mevrouw Koelewijn verloopt heel plezierig. We komen graag weer terug.

Al voor de vierde keer kwamen we naar deze woning, het voelt bijna als thuiskomen :-)
We genoten van het mooie uitzicht bij het huisje. De chalet is een ruime woning met alle voorzieningen.
We gingen skiën in les Gets, Morzine en Avoriaz. Alles ligt zeer bereikbaar vanuit Chalet le Coq.

INFORMATION ON THE SKIING AREA: Portes du Soleil is a large and well-known skiing area in France and Switzerland. The skiing area is located both in France and a part in Switzerland. The area, which was originally separated by the national border, was connected in the early 1960s. The largest part of the resort is on French territory in the Haute-Savoie department. With 650 KM of slopes, the area is one of the largest connected ski areas in the world. The area has 34 green, 106 blue, 100 red and 26 black slopes as well as 9 snow parks, 3 half-pipes and 4 boardercross and is characterized by its width; whereas Les Trois Vallées is quite compact with its three valleys, the resorts in Portes du Soleil are considerably further apart. To get from one corner to the other, sometimes more than 10 lifts have to be used. Therefore, the area maintains the character of the smaller skiing villages despite its size. Therefore, the area is popular among families that are looking for peace and quiet on the local slopes as well as among mile-eaters that go on long day trips. The French and the Swiss part also each have their own character. The French part is characterised by the modern high-rise ski station Avoriaz and mostly very modern lifts and good connections, whereas the Swiss part with its many anchor lifts and low-rise villages such as Morgins has a considerably more authentic feel. DISTANCE SKI RESORTS: Morzine (Pleney) is a cable car station which takes you into the Morzine/Les gets ski area and is about 22 min/14.6 km from the chalet. There are several car parks there. Ardent (Montriond) is a cable car station that takes you to the Avoriaz ski area and is about 24 minutes/17.1 km from the chalet. There is a free and very spacious parking area here. Roc d' Enfer (St. Jean D'aulps) is a ski area about 13 min/8,2 km from the chalet. Here you have 1 black, 10 red, 7 blue and 5 green slopes. This is a total of 23 with a total length of 50km. It is a smaller, cheaper and quieter ski area compared to Morzine/Les Gets and Avoriaz. PUBLIC TRANSPORT: There is a regular ski bus from Le Biot to Morzine/Les Gets, Avoriaz and Ardent.
Restaurants, food & wine
The French cuisine of the Alps is characterised by its cheese specialities, raclettes and fondue, as well as a good glass of local wine and many regional delicacies such as honey, various cold meats and jams.
Activities
You can practice mountain sports such as hiking, climbing, mountain biking, down- and free hill biking, paragliding and rafting. There are hiking possibilities right from the holiday home. You can also swim in Lake Geneva and Lake Montriond. There are also possibilities to play tennis and golf. (There is a tennis court in Les Biot that you can reserve). In the winter, you can enjoy plenty of winter sports in Portes Du Soleil (650 km of slopes).

The holiday home is situated at about 1500 meter distance from the village Le Biot. In Le Biot there is a bakery, a restaurant with pub/shop, a cheese shop, a hairdresser and a tourist office. There is also a ski / sports shop where you can rent winter sports equipment at an affordable price.
