The house
Holiday home l'hirondelle has a surface area of 90 M2. The layout is: large living room with fireplace annex kitchen (including cooker, refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave) two separate bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. In these two bedrooms are four single beds of 90 by 2 metres and in one room a small sofa bed. In the living room there is a double sofa bed of 140 by 2 metres. There is also a washing machine and dryer. In high season, this gite is only rented with two bedrooms.
Basically, everything is available in the gîte except bed linen, towels and tea towels. Bed linen can be rented here, towels and tea towels have to be brought by yourself.

The holiday home l'hirondelle is situated in the middle of France, in the department Cher, in the region the Berry. The nearest city is Bourges,ça 750 km from Amsterdam.
The gite is completely restored in style with the beamed ceilings, and the old French terracotta tiles.
On the grounds of 3.5 hectares is a pool of 72 M2 where guests can use. Furthermore, there are several seating areas on the estate, where you can enjoy the silence around you.
The rural surroundings offer several possibilities to play golf and are very suitable for walking and cycling.
What is also very nice, is that it is not yet so touristy, many people do not know this area yet and are afterwards very charmed by everything they have seen and experienced here.

We komen hier nu al een aantal jaar, maar nu voor het eerst een week in deze prachtige gite doorgebracht. Welke echt van alle gemakken is voorzien. De kamers zijn overigens stuk voor stuk ruim en gezellig ingericht! Wat is het toch elke keer heerlijk om op deze plek te arriveren, zo gastrvrij ontvangen te worden en te mogen genieten van een prachtig stukje Frans platteland. Het zwembad is met de hete zomers een heerlijk extraatje, waar je leuk contact krijgt met de andere gasten. Het is een oase aan rust, maar ook heel gezellig om even onder de grote eik (??) een glaasje te drinken met de andere gasten of met Margit en Frans. Het ligt centraal, Moulins is zeker de moeite waard om te bezoeken. We hebben deze gites weer geboekt voor dit jaar!

We komen hier nu voor het derde jaar. Wat een heerlijk, gastvrij, rustig en groots domein is dit. De afgelopen jaren hadden we een Chambres d'Hotes gehuurd en dit jaar voor het eerst een gite. Heerlijk ruim en van alle gemakken voorzien. De kinderen spelen vrij buiten en natuurlijk in het grote zwembad. Wat een feest!
De gastvrijheid van Margit en Frans maken het helemaal af. Een dagprogramma voor kinderen, welk Chateau we moeten bezoeken, wijnproeven in Sancerre en omstreken, het meest passende restaurant voor de lunch, ze hebben tips genoeg, te veel voor het weekprogramma.

The region for the mainly white wine; such as the famous Sancerre, Menetou Salon, Pouilly-fumé, and also the somewhat less known but very tasty Quincy, Reuilly, Chateaumeillant.

What to see, what to do, a small selection:
Wine regions; you can fully enjoy the predominantly white wines here, such as the well-known Sancerre, Menetou Salon, Pouilly-fumé, and also the somewhat less well-known but very tasty Quincy, Reuilly, Chateaumeillant.
Golf courses; In a radius of 40 km around domaine de Chassy you will find several 18 and 9 hole courses. The courses are generally very quiet, very cheap and a licence is often not required.
Route of castles; Jacques Coeur route with its famous castles and a church route with numerous Romanesque churches in the countryside.
There are many different beautiful gardens to visit in the neighbourhood, e.g. the English style flower park of Apremont sur Allier (one of the most beautiful villages in France), the rose garden of Ainay le Vieil, the medieval gardens of Orsan etc.
In summer, there are many brocante markets, often in the weekends. Farmers' markets, such as in Sancoins with its famous cattle market every Wednesday, are 15 km away.
There are several beautiful hiking trails in the area with different distances. The Fôret de tronçais, (a large well-known forest with ancient oaks) is also in this walking area. It is also a wonderful area for cycling, the roads are very quiet and not too hilly.
A city worth to see: Bourges; "Julius Cesar found Bourges the most beautiful city of Gaul. It is a city of art and history. For example, there is the famous cathedral of Saint Etienne with its particularly beautiful stained-glass windows. Furthermore, there are several museums and Bourges is a nice city for shopping and entertainment.
And so there are many more things to see and do.
In short, it's worth a visit.
