The house
Holiday home/gite le petit chalet: quietly located detached cottage on the border of Vosges and Alsace. Beautifully situated between hills, meadows, woods, orchards.
Le petit chalet has entrance via balcony: living area (25 m2) with sitting area, dining area and open kitchenette, wood-burning stove. Toilet with washbasin.
Stairs to ground floor (sous-sol) to bedroom with adjoining bathroom, patio door to garden.
In the bedroom a double bed (160x200). The adjoining bathroom has a washbasin and shower.
Heating by electric radiators and wood-burning stove. Wood present and included in rental price.
Shed in the garden (for storing bicycles etc.).
Large balcony/terrace, garden furniture such as garden chairs, garden table, sun beds.
It is not possible to charge an electric car at the chalet, this is possible if you come by electric car in the town of St Die (15 km),
Large wooded garden of over 8000 m2 with lawn, pond, stream through the garden and adjacent to stream, the garden is fenced,

Gite le petit chalet is located at an altitude of 500 metres, in a varied environment with hills, woods, meadows, streams and orchards.
Between the villages of La Grande Fosse (Vosges) and Saales (Alsace), both villages 2 km away. The village of Provencheres-sur-Fave is 3 km away.
In Saales and Provencheres you can go to the bakery, butcher, post office, small epicerie, restaurant.
Reachable by train (TGV) to Saales (3 km), we can pick you up at the staion.
The town of Saint-Die-des-Vosges with all its amenities is 15 km away. Here you will find supermarkets, shops, restaurants, indoor swimming pool, bowling alley, cinema, playground, etc.
In Saint-Die it is also possible to charge an electric car (e.g. at Lidl).
Distance Nancy: 100 km; Strasbourg 70 km; Colmar 70 km.
Gite le petit chalet is an ideal base from which to visit the Vosges and Alsace regions and make nice trips, sporty or cultural.

We hebben een hele fijne week gehad in de Vogezen en in Le petit chalet. De buitenruimte van het chalet is enorm! Er zijn een stuk of vijf zitjes, inclusief een groot terras, dus keuze genoeg. En anders versleep je de stoelen naar een plek die je wel aanstaat! Er is een (omheinde) vijver, en de beek loopt dwars over het terrein van het chalet. Je zou er gewoon kunnen verdwalen. Zo groot!
Het huis zelf is inderdaad klein (zoals de naam doet vermoeden), maar wel compleet, en heel praktisch ingericht. Het slaapgedeelte is beneden, en daar is het ‘s zomers heerlijk koel. Een fijne moderne badkamer, met fantastische douche.
Er staat een houtkachel, en er ligt genoeg hout op het terrein, dus ook in de winter comfortabel.
Veel mogelijkheden om te wandelen en te fietsen. Strasbourg ligt op een uurtje rijden, en is een aanrader. Ook het stadje Villé is leuk om te bezoeken. Genoeg te doen dus.

Was gezellig af en toe praatje met jullie. Fijn dat we vaak gezellige "vakantie"buren hebben!

Heerlijke vakantie hier gehad, fijn contact met de eigenaars die vlak bij wonen. Klein chalet, maar ruim genoeg voor 2 personen en 1 hond. De inrichting is zeer compleet. Hele grote omheinde tuin met vijver. Vijver is apart omheind. Mooie wandelingen te maken ook startend vlak bij het chalet en stapels toeristische informatie om lekker te genieten.

We hebben een zalige vakantie gehad. De eigenaars waren hele fijne mensen en heel vriendelijk. De chalet is oud en niet groot, maar ligt prachtig en heeft een hele grote tuin met verschillende zitjes. Ook onze hond heeft het er erg naar haar zin gehad.

Le petit chalet is an ideal base to discover the Vosges and Alsace!
Walking, cycling (also electric), mountain biking, trailrunning: many beautiful and varied routes start directly from our gite le petit chalet. We have information material ready in the chalet with plenty of choice of routes, you can use maps and descriptions during your stay.
Village of la Grande Fosse: 2 km.
Village of Saales 2.5 km, with small epicerie, bakery, restaurant, post office, pharmacy, dairy (milk, yoghurt, cheese, local produce), organic bakery.
Village of Provenchères-sur-Fave 3 km: bakery, butcher, small supermarket, hardware store, pharmacy, restaurant.
All year round, le petit chalet is a beautiful area to enjoy peace, space and nature!
In winter the Vosges are also beautiful, often there is snow and you can go snowshoeing, cross-country skiing and skiing.
Nearest small ski/ langlauf area: le Champ du Feu.
Cultural and tourist trips are of course also plentiful, Info is in the chalet.

Wellness / workshops during your stay in le petit chalet:
From 2024, it is also possible to take yoga/meditation classes or pamper yourself with a body massage during your stay in le petit chalet, relaxing in the garden in fine weather!
A certified yoga teacher/masseuse will come to you!
She speaks German, English and French.
You can also follow a creative day-workshop (also in German, English or French) in the neighbourhood (4 km from le petit chalet), possibly also possible in our gite, e.g.: wool-working/spinning, silk-painting, candle-making, making your own soap or cosmetic products on a natural basis.
The day-workshops are individual and not in groups.
You can make an appointment for the wellness or workshops yourself (or through us).

Further remarks
We ourselves live about 50 metres from gite le petit chalet (the only direct neighbours).
We have a vegetable garden and in spring/summer you can eat organic vegetables from our garden.
