The house
Our cosy holiday home is an old farmhouse with an authentic look but with today's luxury.
It has a cosy living room and dining kitchen both with wood-burning stove. From the kitchen there is a door to the large terrace with beautiful views where you can sit both in the sun and in the shade.
On the ground floor is the toilet and bathroom with bath, separate shower and second toilet.
On the first floor are the very spacious bedrooms. There is room for up to 8 people but even with 2 people it is an attractive stay. The first bedroom upstairs has a double bed (1.60x2.00m). The second and largest bedroom has four single beds. The third bedroom with two single beds is accessible via the second bedroom.
The whole house can be additionally heated with electric heaters. At the front of the house is a small bike shed with two easy bikes to go to Le Val d'Ajol (2km).
On the other side of the house, the owner has a small flat completely separated from the holiday home with a separate entrance on the side of the main road.
In July/August and at Christmas/Early New Year, rentals are by the week only (Saturday to Saturday).

Our holiday home is located on a southern slope in a small valley in 'Parc Naturel Régional des Ballons des Vosges' with beautiful views. From the terrace one looks out, among other things, on part of one's own meadow with a number of fruit trees. Further on, sheep, and cows graze. The surrounding meadows are in bloom: from little orchids and cuckoo-flowers in spring to daisies in summer.
From our house you can go directly for beautiful walks and cycling tours. There are detailed maps available with marked walking and cycling routes, but you can also use your own map to make beautiful walking and cycling trips.
A few minutes away by car offers another environment with many small lakes.
By car one can drive special routes such as the Route des Crêtes, Route des Milles Etangs and Route du Vin.
1.5 km away is Le Val d`Ajol, a small cosy town with two supermarkets, three bakeries, three butchers, three cafés, an organic shop, several restaurants and a bicycle repair shop (also rental).

Hoe frans wil je het hebben? Heerlijk , ruim verblijf. Eigenaresse is een topvrouw. Ze heeft er echt een fijne plek van gemaakt. Mooi ,sfeervol terras , met meerdere zit plekken ,prachtig uitzicht en bij mooi weer heerlijk buiten ontbijten etc. Bij minder weer ,lezen ,filmpje kijken etc. Mijn vriendin en ik hebben het heerlijk gehad. kortom , aanrader!

Restaurants, food & wine
In le Val d´Ajol, there is the very well-known and appreciated restaurant ´La Résidence´ with French culinary specialities.
Since a few years there is again a brasserie that produces a full-fledged contemporary beer: La Val Heureuse.
Every Sunday morning, the locals hold a market in the church square with clothes, plants, fruit and vegetables, and farm cheese and honey. After the market, the cafés are full, from children to grandparents.
In July and August, every Friday evening in Le Girmont Val d'Ajol there is the marché nocturne, a pleasant and appreciated market with many local products. Each Friday is dedicated to a theme such as ancient trades, wood carving, animals on the Vosges farm, myrtilles (blueberry).
In Faymont is the famous pans factory and shop of ´le Buyer´. For 180 years, it has been making quality kitchenware that is exported to 95 countries around the world.
Activities
In the immediate vicinity of Hamanxard and Le Val d'Ajol there are many marked hiking trails (map and booklet available). With the staff map you can also make varied cycle tours. Hiking or cycling in the High Vosges is also possible (45 minutes by car).
In Plombieres-les-Bains (14 km) you can spend a lovely afternoon in the Roman baths with hammam, heated tile room and jacuzzis.
At a distance of 40 km in Ronchamp is the famous chapel 'Notre Dame du Haut Ronchamp' by the famous architect le Corbusier.
In Plombières-les-Bains there is an outdoor swimming pool, in Le Val d'Ajol an indoor swimming pool and in the vicinity there is a swimming lake. For more information about the region, attractions, bike rental, etc., there is a folder in the house.

Additional price info and offers
When renting to a group of adults, different daily/weekly prices apply in certain situations.
The rental price includes tourist tax, includes wood for both wood-burning stoves (in living room and dining kitchen) and excludes electricity.
The house has to be left clean, for an additional charge of 50 € this will be done for you.
If necessary, bed linen (duvet cover, fitted sheet and pillowcase) can be rented (8 € p.p.).
There are plenty of drying towels and towels in the kitchen.
When booking with a dog, the price is 2.50 € per day per dog.
