The house
Welcome to Mouy! Our gîte takes up part of an old agricultural building in the grounds of our home. We are within walking distance of the centre of the town where you'll find butchers, bakeries (6 at last count!) , grocery stores and a couple of pizza places. The station is a 10 minute walk away with trains running into Paris within an hour with just one change; perfect for **The Olympics**!
The ground floor of the gite is open plan with a large, fully equipped kitchen, a dining area and a sitting area with two large sofas, a flatscreen tv and a flame-effect fireplace. There is plenty of storage space as well as a cloakroom.
On the first floor there are two bedrooms, one with a large double, the other with two large single beds, which can be converted into a double bed. The bathroom has a shower and storage space.
There are seats just outside the gîte and there is a dedicated garden, out of sight from the main house, with a covered seating area as well as sunbeds and a barbeque. There is a trampoline and swings for children. Next door to the gîte is a games room with baby football, darts and table tennis. We do have three cats and a dog, Suki, who share the garden. They are all very friendly and love to meet new people.

La Source Tranquille sits in a large walled garden of some 4000 sq. m. total with a spring and a stream and mature trees. Whilst being only 600m from the centre of our village the garden itself is a real oasis of calm, with no-one looking in ensuring complete privacy. Electric gates allow entry for your car, with a dedicated parking space available. The village itself has 6 bakeries (!), 3 butchers, a supermarket and other small shops.
There are many chateaux and cathedrals to visit within a short drive, as well as Monet's garden and van Gogh's Auvers sur Oise.

Restaurants, food & wine
Mouy itself has a couple of pizza restaurants all within walking distance of the gîte. Further afield are some local auberges (in Heilles and Le Tillet) whilst Chantilly, Beauvais and Senlis have many restaurants of some repute.
There is a very small bar a couple of hundred metres from the gîte, as well as a PMU type cafe bar in the village centre.
Activities
Mouy is very well placed for touring by bicycle, with established routes already to interesting places like Pierrefonds, Compiegne and Beauvais (see bikemap.net). There are also many walking routes nearby, with some passing directly through the village. The surrounding area is farmland with excellent walking opportunities. We have covered storage space for bicycles and trailers.
Golf is well established in the region, with courses at Chantilly, Apremont and Raray to name but a few.
Chantilly (25km) is the horse capitol of France so there are many stables in the area offering horse-riding.
We welcome small well-behaved dogs - we do have cats and a dog of our own in the garden so ask that all dogs are kept under control in the garden if they like to chase cats!
Disneyland Paris is just over an hour away. Parc Asterix is just 30 minutes away. There is a large lake with watersports and swimming available around 25 minutes away.

Further remarks
The railway station is a 10 minute walk from the gite, with trains at great times to get into Paris for lunch without needing a car. Alternatively, if you wish to spend the day in Paris you can drive 20 minutes to park at Creil, where trains run every 20 minutes or so to Paris, and from early until late.

Additional price info and offers
We charge 50€ cleaning fee to all of our guests, and to allow us to satisfactorily clean the gite between stays and we must leave a slightly longer time between each booking. Earliest arrival time is now 17h and latest departure time is 10h. Thank you for your understanding.

Een prachtige Gite, verrassend liggend achter twee grote stalen deuren. Wij verbleven daar omdat wij de zondag in Parijs moesten zijn, slechts een uur rijden. Het fascinerende kasteel 'Chantilly' op nog geen 30 kilometer afstand, een bezoek zeker waard! De Gite zelf doet zijn naam volledig eer aan: la Source Tranquille, de stille bron. Het weer was slecht in de dagen dat wij er waren, des te meer komt de kwaliteit van deze Gite tot zijn recht. Er ontbrak ons aan niets, complimenten aan de uiterst sympathieke Vanessa en Adrian. Echt: een aanrader. Veel plezier!

Een prettige, ruime vrijstaande woning (de gite maakt onderdeel uit van een aantal bijgebouwen bij de woning van de verhuurders) in een rustige omgeving (klein dorp), van alle gemakken voorzien. Grote tuin(en) en ruimte voor tafeltennis & darts in een bijgebouw. Veel bos op korte afstand van het dorp. Aangename ontvangst en zeer voorkomende gastvrouw. Verschillende plaatsen op ong. 20 - 30 minuten rijden (bv. Senlis, Beauvais en Chantilly) geven mogelijkheid tot meer vertier en hebben een cultureel aanbod.

La Source Tranquille is een prachtige gite met alles wat nodig is en meer om een luxe gevoel te geven. prachtige tuin midden in Mouy. De contacten met Vanessa waren ook makkelijk en prettig!!
