The house
Our holiday home is open again after the sanitary crisis. We strictly observe the prescribed protocol to guarantee a carefree stay. We take the time to do the final cleaning with care for disinfection and using a steam cleaner to clean everything hygienically.
Do not hesitate to book now. If corona forbids you or us to travel, we will refund you everything in full.
We also take a "guest-free" period between our guests, to ventilate the house and exclude any risk of contamination. Our calendar is therefore not complete. Do not hesitate to contact us to see if your holiday period can be organised.

The gite is situated on 6000m2 of enclosed land, of which 3000m2 is wooded, with a fully landscaped garden.
Alembon is situated at 20km from Calais and Boulogne, in a beautiful region with hundreds of km of walking and cycling routes, far from the hustle and bustle and yet close to many activities. Sea and beach at 20 km, not forgetting the nature reserve of the dunes of the Slack River.

Wij hebben voor de derde keer een verblijf gehad op het domein, met kinders en klein kinders, vrienden.
Het is een geweldige plek om ongedwongen samen te zijn in een mooie omgeving, het huis heeft alles wat je nodig hebt. Ilse en man zijn zeer vriendelijk, Dicht bij de kust ,waar we al jaren komen om onder de krijtrotsen fossielen te zoeken of wandelingen te maken. We waren met 9 mensen, waarvan 3 opgroeiende kinderen, een weekje in de Gîtes du Ventus. We kregen een aangename ontvangst in een typisch Frans huis waar alles aanwezig is wat je nodig hebt. Het is vooral prettig dat je geen bedlinnen of handdoeken hoeft mee te nemen. Ter plaatse wordt alles voorzien en dit zonder extra kosten. Voor mensen die wat moeite hebben met de Franse taal is dit ook een prima bestemming. De eigenaars zijn Vlamingen. De keuken is volledig ingericht. Een tuin met aanpalend bos waar de kinderen en de hondjes lekker kunnen ravotten. Ook de streek is een aanrader. Glooiend terrein op slechts 2 uur van huis. Je kunt er prachtige wandelingen maken. Rubberen laarzen zijn wel een must. Vergeet ook niet een bezoek te brengen aan Boulogne-sur-mer. En als je daar dan toch bent is Nausicaá een "verplicht" nummer. Tot slot : denk er ook aan om de lokale lekkernijen uit de zee te kopen op de vismarkt bij de haven. Verser kun je 't nergens vinden.

Voor de tweede keer hier geweest en weer goed bevallen. De honden mogen mee en we hebben heerlijk gewandeld. Direct een route vanaf het huis of eerst met de auto en dan een mooie route kiezen. Het huis is ruim, schoon en van alle gemakken voorzien. Eigenaresse Ilse was, net zoals de vorige keer, behulpzaam en gastvrij.
Restaurants, food & wine
The region has a delicious and honest regional cuisine. Coq à la bière, hochepot, potjevleesch, waterzooi, turkey from Licques, herring, fruits de mer, ... and this with a regional beer, are some examples of delicacies from our region.
Activities
Given the central location of the gite with respect to Boulogne, Calais, and St-Omer, many activities are available in the vicinity. There are also many places of interest (cap blanc nez, cap gris nez, blockhaus in Eperleques, nausicaa in Boulogne, maison du papier, maison de la faiance in Devres, tour de l'horloge in Guines, La Coupole, musée de la Géologie in Marquise,...
For the fishermen among you, there are the Marais and trout ponds at 5 minutes, for the more adventurous there is a course in the forest of Guines at 10 minutes. You can play golf in Wimereux and in Lumbres, both at 20 minutes.
You are 20 minutes away from the Channel Tunnel, which makes a quick transfer to London perfectly possible.

NEW: make your own glass jewel during your stay in our gites.
The owners of the gites are perlists (glass artists) in secondary occupation. They melt murano glass into beautiful jewels. During your stay in our gites, you can attend a demonstration to see how they work. Maybe you will dare to make a pearl yourself. There are short introductory courses to design and make your own glass jewellery, which you can take home afterwards - see www.gitesduventus.com - internships
On the same terrain there is another gite of 5 persons, which makes it possible to reserve for 15 persons if desired.
Outside the high season the gites can also be rented per weekend or midweek. (Prices from 180 euros per weekend for the gite of 5p and from 290 euros per weekend for the gite of 8p/10p)
