The house
Our DOG FRIENDLY cottage has been designed to make life easy for WHEELCHAIR USERS - we’re accredited with Paralysé de France – or guests with mobility issues as the cottage is all on one floor with easy access and wide doors. It is set in the courtyard of our farmhouse and is ideal for a couple or a small family. Very well equipped, it has a comfortable living/dining/kitchen area with full size oven, hob, fridge with freezer, microwave, TV (freeview), double doors to a large family bedroom with double bed and one single bed (separated by privacy curtain) and a large walk-in wet room with spacious shower, basin and wc – shower and wc have grab bars to facilitate access and raised wc seat if needed is available. There is a flat terrace to enjoy alfresco dining in the summer evenings. We welcome a dog but request that it is not left alone in the property at any time.

Set in a lovely rural region of northern France, under one hour away from the northern ports and Eurotunnel, Rose Cottage is located in the grounds of our farmhouse in Ergny and as we live on site we can help you with ideas for great days out and reservations if necessary. Rose Cottage can be booked with The Barn for a larger group.
Visit the wide sandy beaches of the coast, the more adventurous can try sand-yachting or explore the lovely villages and towns along this unspoilt area of France and enjoy the traditional weekly markets or seasonal Sunday brocantes. Ideal for cycling or walking along the quiet country lanes or enjoy one of the many Rambling pathways in the area.. Visit St Omer with its lovely squares or play the challenging 18 hole golf course just 20 minutes away at Lumbres, one of the best in France. Not to be missed is the walled city of Montreuil sur Mer with its gastronomic restaurants and panoramic views from the ramparts or head for the sandy beaches on the Cote d’Opale. The Somme region is not far away and history lovers will enjoy Arras with its WW1 memories, cobbled squares and museums, visit Albert and Peronne with their superb museums. Chocolate lovers will be tempted by a visit to the Belgian city of Brugges with its canals and pretty shops, just over 90 minutes away by motorway. Whether you want sophisticated resorts like Le Touquet with designer shopping, restaurants, beaches and casino, or more unspoilt coastal treasures with sleepy seaside resorts, there is a beach to please everyone.

We loved the cottage, it has everything you need, the gameroom is a nice bonus and the garden was great for our dog. The beach was amazing too. Sarah and David are so nice and they have good suggestions for walks etc.. Definetly recommand bell'aa!

Heel fijne week gehad in Rose Cottage. Alles wat je nodig hebt is er aanwezig. Mooie rustige omgeving tussen het boeren leven op het platteland. Voor brood en boodschappen moet je 6 km verder zijn. Jammer dat Sarah er niet was. We hebben het dus alleen met David moeten doen, wat absoluut geen straf was. Hij weet echt alles van de omgeving en vertelde vol enthousiasme over de geschiedenis van de boerderij en de 2 panden op het erf. Geweldig om hem te horen praten, maar neem er wel de tijd voor 😉.
Beslist de moeite waard om nog eens te bezoeken.

Restaurants, food & wine
We live closeby so can advise on our favourite restaurants to visit and can make reservations for you. Closest restaurant is 7km away, or travel further afield to Montreuil sur Mer for gourmet dining, or visit our favourite seafood restaurant at Boulogne sur Mer. Our nearest bakery is in Bourthes, a short drive away, where you’ll find a wonderful choice of freshly made breads and french pastries.

I can arrange an onsite knitting class if you would like to learn this lovely skill, we can make a small souvenir to take home with you

Further remarks
Rose Cottage is in the courtyard of our old farmhouse and you have a private parking space. There is one other small holiday cottage on site and together you share the small splash pool..
Please note we are leaving a longer gap between bookings giving us ample time to fully prepare the cottage for your arrival. This includes deep cleaning the property, changing all the bedding (mattress protectors and duvets) we are asking that your arrive at 5pmon arrival day and that you leave by 9am on departure day so we can implement these procedures. We hope that you understand our commitment to providing you with a completely sanitised property.
Please note that there is no facilities for the charging of electric vehicles, the nearest points are 7km away.
Additional price info and offers
All electricity, gas and water is included in the rental from May until the end of September, a small charge of 25 euros per week from October to end April for the heating is appreciated in low season.
Check-in is after 5pm, departure before 10am please
