The house
Our holiday home has been completely renovated. The living area is spacious with a cosy lounge, dining table and kitchenette with all amenities. There is also a new bed cupboard. The attic room has given way to a fully-fledged very spacious room upstairs, with direct access to a roof terrace with adapted furniture. You can even see the sea from there.
The bed cupboard remains available in the living area, so the cottage can accommodate up to 4 people.
And all this at ONLY 30 METERS FROM THE BEACH and 100 m from the centre (bakery, grocery shop, pharmacy, tourist office,...) of Wissant.

The fishing village Wissant (Witzand) is known as a cosy fishing village, where it is pleasant to stay as a tourist. You have the atmosphere of a holiday without disappearing in the masses. In the village, you will find everything you may expect from a holiday by the sea.

Wat een mooie gelegenheid om daar te vertoeven, mooi ingericht, om meteen thuis te voelen. Zo als altijd een fijne ontvangst van Ilse en haar man, en de zee zo aan je voeten. Koud of niet, met een goede jas ben je zo in en uit om langs het water te lopen, of het dorp in te slenteren. Het was er heerlijk om te verblijven in alle rust.

Restaurants, food & wine
The fishing village Wissant has several fish restaurants (fruits de mer,...), but there is something for everyone : from a simple snack to the better restaurant. Furthermore, this village is situated 10 minutes from Calais and 20 minutes from Boulogne, where you can find an even wider range of restaurants.
Activities
First of all, there is the sea with the beautiful sandy beach of Wissant. There is the possibility of water sports on site. There is also a "kids club" in the summer holidays that organises activities on and around the beach. From Wissant you can also take beautiful walks to Cap Gris Nez and Cap Blanc Nez (both at 6 km). When the weather is nice, you can see the white chalk cliffs of England. In the village you will also find a tennis club (50m away), an opportunity to play squash (50m away) and a mini-golf course. You can also go fishing (200m away).
Every Friday evening from April to November there is a night market (from 18 to 21h) on the local market square (100m). On this market you will find regional products and local artistic creations.
The whole coastline between Calais and Boulogne offers a wide range of leisure activities. A more detailed description can be found on our personal website, which also contains a calendar of activities.

Further remarks
The gite is only rented out per week in the high season, outside the high season you can also rent per weekend or midweek (from 195 euro, for 2 nights).
Those who are interested in glass art, can register for an apprenticeship "making glass beads" in murano glass. You will then go home with your self-made piece of jewellery. This course can be organised on the spot.
