Domaine de la Tour

Domaine de la Tour is a beautiful 18th-century farm estate located in the south of Calvados, between the Pays d'Auge and hilly Suisse Normande.

We have two spacious, very comfortable holiday homes (gites), 1 small gite for 2 people suitable for people with mobility problems or in wheelchairs, and four bed & breakfast rooms in beautiful surroundings. Domaine de la Tour used to be part of an immense estate, once built by Louis XV for one of his maitresses, Madame de Seran, who was known around 1770 as the most beautiful woman in Falaise and its surroundings.

Each gite has the following layout: entrance to lounge, equipped with leather sofas, television, DVD player, hifi/cd/usb system and dining table.

Adjacent is a separate, spacious kitchen with all necessary equipment and accessories (gas cooker with oven, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and dryer). Both gîtes also have free wireless internet (WiFi).

1st floor: 2 bedrooms - 1 x twin and 1 x triple, each with its own bathroom and toilet, one with bathtub.

2nd floor: 2 bedrooms - 1 x twin and 1 x triple each with private bathroom and toilet.

Both gites are furnished with partly authentic, partly antique furniture. All our (Dutch) beds are 2 metres long.

Each gite has a large private garden with garden furniture, parasol and stone BBQ. Our estate covers 70,000 m2 where you can walk around undisturbed and take a seat on one of the benches in our park to enjoy the peace and nature.

Our younger guests are also catered for: there is a playground with slide, swings and sandpit, plenty of space to play football, badminton or volleyball (equipment provided) and a room with table tennis, pool and table football for children and their parents.

Also on the estate is our own agricultural open-air museum with some 20 agricultural tools from the 19th and 20th centuries. You can play boules in our courtyard.

A high chair, cot with mattress, baby monitor, buggy, steriliser for bottles, baby bath, changing table and potty are available in each gite. Should you need cots, these will be placed free of charge.

Domaine de la Tour is located 5 minutes from the picturesque medieval town of Falaise, birthplace of William the Conqueror. His castle can be visited every day and is well worth a visit. Nearby there is a beautiful swimming pool complex with slides, several zoos, an amusement park and several beaches.

Furthermore, Domaine de la Tour offers you a meal service, fresh bread rolls service, shopping service on arrival and bike rental through one of our partners.

We also have 4 charging stations for electric cars, 2 of which are Tesla and 2 general from New Motion/Shell Recharge.

All our prices include gas, water, electricity and final cleaning, bed linen, towels. All beds are made when you arrive and per person you will find 1 large towel, 1 small towel and a flannel. Should you require more towels during your stay, no problem, this is on request and completely free of charge.

If you stay 2 weeks on Domaine de la Tour, your cottage will be completely cleaned after the first week and all bed linen and towels will be replaced. It is also possible to have your gite cleaned in between or even daily, for which we charge 20 euros per hour.
