The house

Detached house on 600m2 fenced plot. No park!
All rooms (except the mezzanine) are on the ground floor: L-shaped living room and fully equipped modern kitchen with four-burner stove, electric oven, extractor and fridge; separate shower room, toilet, 3 bedrooms, one of which has a toilet and there is an intermediate room with a single bed. The other bedrooms have double beds. One with a 1.60 x 2.00 bed and one with a 1.40 x 2.00 bed. We accommodate a maximum of five people in the house.
The living room has a flat screen TV with satellite receiver with reception of Dutch channels, radio and DVD player (bring your own CDs/DVDs). The house has fibre-optic internet. The house is heated with electric radiators and a wood-burning stove.
There is a washing machine, dryer and freezer in the back barn.

The house is fifty (50!) metres from the beach. You walk over the dune and can enjoy a 13 km long sandy beach, which stretches from the Cap du Rozel to the Cap de Carteret. On a clear day, you can see the nearby Channel Islands of Jersey and Sark.
The hinterland is very hilly and lends itself to beautiful excursions. Many castles and manor houses can be visited in the vicinity. A trip along the coast is worthwhile. To the north you come along the rough point Le Nez de Jobourg, to the south the landscape is less rough and a day trip to Mont St. Michel - certainly in the pre-and post-season, when it is quieter - can be undertaken.
A visit to the Invasion Beaches is a must.

Restaurants, food & wine
In the vicinity are several good restaurants, where you can eat deliciously. Normandy -and especially Manche- is characterised by its own cuisine, in which ingredients found in the region itself are the main ingredient. There is a lot of freshly caught fish and excellent meat and dairy products from cattle that roam freely in the dunes (from 1 October to 1 May).
Contrary to the southern part of France, butter and creme fraiche are widely used in Normandy's cuisine. The local cheeses are delicious (Trappe de Briqcebec, Camembert (Lanquetot), Vieux Pané, Pont l'Éveque and many others).
Also to be savoured are the Norman drinks: cider, pommeau and Calvados. Visit a Calavados farmer (for example, Theo Capelle in Briquebosc) and be surprised by the taste of this drink, which beats even a good cognac.
Activities
The beach and the sea lend themselves to all sorts of activities: from walking to surfing.
The walker can follow parts of the GR 223 that runs along the house.
Cyclists can indulge themselves: the hinterland is comparable to South Limburg, so for a training session in early spring it is a very suitable location.
Dog lovers can enjoy the beach with their four-legged friend.
Especially in the early and late season, the sea is very suitable for surfing, because from October to May the waves are at their highest.

Further remarks
The house is fully double glazed, is heated by electric radiators and a wood-burning stove (wood is available from Point Vert in Barneville) and can therefore be rented throughout the year, including the early and late seasons.
The house is therefore for rent throughout the year. (See under "Show availability" if the house is still available).
High season: 28 June until 30 August 2014
Half season: 27 April till 28 June and the month of September
In low season, except during school holidays, also for rent per day for € 40 per day excl. electricity and final cleaning costs.
In January and November 2=1 (rent two weeks, pay one week)
All prices include gas and water, but exclude electricity (€ 0.20 per Kwh) and € 37.50 cleaning costs. A departmental tourist tax of € 0,46 per person per day is also payable. On arrival a deposit of € 75,00 per week (or part thereof) is requested, with a maximum of € 150,00.
Pets (max. two): € 8.75 per week per pet.
Cot (assemble and tidy up by yourself), baby bath and high chair free of charge on request.
Rental prices apply to 5 persons. For the sixth person a surcharge of 35 Euro per week applies, regardless of season.
Bed linen can be hired for € 5,00 per bed (state at reservation).
There are NO administration- or reservation costs calculated.
